I love how 10 years after his time with Razgriz, Gennet is still going to war zones and trying to interview pilots. I wonder what his life was like in between the two games?

Gryphus One is so underrated. This was my first ever AC, second is Joint Assault then I got Ace Combat 7 on Steam. Basically my childhood, feels good to play it again as an adult. So much nostalgia.

And of course, Ten year after event of Circum pacific war (AC5 Unsung war)
Despite the fact that Leasath's invasion was obvious transparent in terms of its casus belli (It's not like Aurelia's aid was a secret) It's likely that the Oseans are just simply unable to condemn Leasath and send aid to Aurelia due to its military being severely crippled during the Lighthouse War.
@@theanchorshat585 Yeah, Osea lost all but one of its aircraft carriers during the Lighthouse War. Epic fail. The only one left in one piece is the _Admiral Andersen_
In Strangereal, war involving large monstrous aircraft is like us having the Olympics.

I like that they used a style similar to the cutscenes of 04. For a weaker console like the PSP, it's pretty ideal technically and size-wise. I love the continuity with Albert Genette, nice touch.
From ace combat 5 to now
As Ace Combat villains go, Diego Gaspar Navarro is still on top in my mind as the worst in the Ace Combat Universe. He was a cruel warmonger who used his own soldiers as pawns to increase his own wealth no matter the cost. Even though the civil war left his nation wartorn and impoverished; he decided to start another war against Aurelia. For those about to say Matias Torres is even worse, let me remind you he was more insane then evil. He was likely suffering PTSD from the loss of the Battleship Tanager, along with the men inside, and the capture of his nation.
Well his battleship sunk by Mobius 1 f22 raptor and years later in the Lighthouse war, Trigger sunk his submarine aviation cruiser with him in a optional f22 raptor.
Torres actions would.have combined the worst aspects of Erusean fascism with the cult like nature of the Alicorn in viewing Erusean life as expendable so long as the men behave like fanatics with no regard for tomorrw

Torres had PTSD both from the sinking of the Tanager and being trapped in the Alicorn at the bottom of the sea for nearly 2 years
Um… General Lyes? In Ace Combat 6’s supplemental materials it mentions that he deliberately starved 200,000 civilians in the city of Gledina to death because they resisted his authoritarian rule.
Shame so few talk about ACX lore or even ACX in general.

Theory: Mission 12C is the one that is canon when you liberate Griswall. I say this because when Genette mentions the "ragtag band of soldiers smaller than a single unit" I think hes talking about the Aurealian Liberation Corp. Yeah remember those guys? They're all just civillians but they were hell bent on taking their capital back so they stole some Lesathian weponry and rolled on in by train.
It is, there's some files on the official site of Ace Combat X that shows civilians under Gryphus one.

It was only at the end of the game when I realised the journalist is Genette from AC5. Small world.
One of the few things I REALLY hate about AC is their misconception on how ground warfare works.
Though same thing could be said to CODMW.
Do not even look for logic in this saga in those issues of being realistic, since all its action falls on aerial combat and combat fighters with a completely arcade mechanic that at no time seeks to be a simulator, also if you know these saga you know that neither crazy in the realistic scene appear aces that are capable of killing half an army completely alone or the fact that a single pilot ends up changing the course of the war (a common thing in this saga where the main nation is losing to the enemy at the beginning but through the actions of your ace it is possible to turn the war 360 degrees)
(This is an update to my previous post). Let's start out by saying Diego Gaspar Navarro was seriously horrible. Like a couple of dictators in the real world, he starved his country, pushed Leasath's military into another conflict after its own civil war, and finally ruined Leasath's economy all to increase arms sales so he could increase his overall wealth. He ranks high in the worst villains of Ace Combat. Of course, in the game, if you beat all active missions in the campaign and not miss anything, you get the ending where the fenrir is destroyed, and what happens to Diego Gaspar Navarro is unknown. In my personal opinion, one of two things might have happened to him: he probably got put in a jail cell for the rest of his pathetic existence, or like many despot dictator's of our world, killed by his own people. If you miss one mission and finish the campaign, you get the other ending. This is the ending where he flees and cannot regain power. I have to say this could possibly be the worst ending for the the Leasath troops left behind still fighting in pockets of resistance. As our history shows, (in Battle of Stalingrad, for example where the Germans were surrounded and trapped); being trapped in a pocket with enemy forces all around you is absolutely a commander's and soldiers worst nightmare. If they don't surrender immediately, a series of terrible fates await if they don't die during combat in the meantime. First, food and ammunition will start to dwindle and then run out. After that, the soldiers begin to either die from starvation or loot food from everywhere and anywhere they can, or simply starve to death. Add to this any ammo will start to become scarce. Looting or theft will be necessary for troops. Once those things fail which they always do, full on desperation will set in, then troops will abandon their positions, and surrender because they know it's over for them. Those last surrendering troops will be worst off as they will be starving, depressed, diseased, and/or injured. All of them will probably suffer for years after the war ends from PTSD, and the scorn of their fellow countrymen. It's nothing to look forward to.

I'd honestly love a ace combat anime, between the games using anime for cutscenes and the games Japanese origin it'd be awesome to see a natural expansion into animation.
To me it seems the Osean Broadcasting Corporation is covering the Aurelian war just like how they did Belkan War Ace Combat Zero Circum Pacific War Ace Combat 5 & Lighthouse War Ace Combat 7 this is likely due to the fact that the Osean Federation is an Ally of the federal republic of Aurelia.
If Ace Combat 8 is made we might have a choice of Aurelian Osean & Emmerian or Yuktobanian jets against Belka who probably aided Lesath against Aurelia by exporting the Flying Fortress technology.

Lesath seems to represent countries in northern south america (Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba), while Aurelia represents the south of the continent (Argentina, Uruguai, Chile). Also, both countries look a lot like Brazil in their own way, so i guess Nanco put a little bit of Brazil in each of them

Some of the scenes from this game were cut apparently, such as the Christmas scene. I also don't remember ever seeing the scene where a crowd of angry people destroy a Fenrir but maybe I'm wrong on that part

@@nephanielleshane2645 it is actually a mix between Chileans, Aussies and Argies. For example there is the emblem of Southern Cross with a hawk in the game, and irl there was an Argentine acrobatics team by the name of Cruz del Sur (Southern Cross) with a very similar emblem.

Really nice attempt to bring AC to mobile, but absolutely abysmal level design (Shoot 14 RPGs in the woods, search for randomized electric grids across a large map without radar) and bafflingly even worse voice acting than some of AC's first attempts with vocals.

One of the weakest parts in the series. The Ace Combat has always been a story without the borders of black and white, with the moral of all shades of gray. Playing for example as a Trigger, I often found myself thinking that my character was a complete scum, and no less a war criminal than those who started the war for the lighthouse. The good game of the Ace Combat series always makes you wonder - are you fighting on the right side? Is your opponent so bad? Even in Assault Horizon, the antagonist only wanted to avenge the death of innocent people, but here ... The good guys against a bad dictator that have a flying cruiser, that's actually the whole plot.
Hard disagree. The ace combat series frequently has villains much worse than any protagonist. AcZ had Belka nuking their own land to halt the Allied advance as well as AWWNB attempting to mass nuke multiple world targets just to eliminate country borders and prevent war. Eruseans in AC4 attempted to harness the Megalith for retaliation against the ISAF by literally dropping meteors onto targets. AC6 had Estovakia resorting to dropping cruise missiles onto civilian areas with a railgun, The Chandelier. Many antagonist morals may be grey but they often have massive body counts to go with them. Even the falsely accused Trigger may have done some questionable things (operation beehive), but never to the level of the average AC antagonist.

Not only, its very execution, but that this monstrous plan, in fact, turned out to be WORKING. Central Belka was never occupied and signed the defeat on acceptable terms for itself. Which in the future led to the events of Unsung War. Moreover, the Snake named Grunder Industries, Osea herself sheltered and fed practically from a spoon with her production state orders, even giving access to her state secrets. To same people, who, being in the shadows, made a decision and through intermediaries in the army and the government of Belka, who was losing the war, implemented a plan to create a nuclear frontier through which it would be impossible to advance deep into Belka or supply troops. SUCH THINGS that I love in Ace Combat stories. Greater evil, lesser evil, it doesn't matter. No one here has clean hands. And this makes the world of StrangeReal alive and more realistic.
