When using Zoom I noted there is a setting to show your video camera mirrored so it is an up front choice in that app. Now, if only people would stop using their phones in portrait mode causing severely cropped pictures at the sides. In your video you did exactly that and you are a professional. Why? It really, really grates at me. Imagine going to the movies and seeing the movie projected like that. Would you be a happy customer?

You'd first have to duplicate the clip, draw an Opacity mask around the isolated area, then apply Horizontal Flip. And if the camera is not on a tripod, you'd have to track the motion which means you need After Effects to do that.
Thank you for this as I was getting frustrated with my iPhone XR filming backward text. Kuckily, I had a backup Android and this filmed the text the correct way round! There's a camera setting on Zoom that allows you to mirror your camera and this displays text the right way round.

Use Horizontal Flip in the effects like I've shown in this video. I suggest using a monitor to see what you're camera is shooting. Just a cheap 720p used TV works.
What was driving me crazy a Facebook post where an Australian woman look to be driving a left-hand drive the car & the police entered from the left also and I just couldn't work out for the life of me why. I guess this explains it.

For live shooting it depends on the camera. If you're using a phone, you'd have to check the phone and app you're using. They're all different. Some will allow you to change that while shooting. If you're using any other camera, like a DSLR, they will shoot the video correctly.

I have a picture of a tattoo on my right arm and when I put it on my Facebook page It was on my left arm.. I actually had to look at my arm to make sure it hadn't moved 😅
I've only noticed this on video's on Dailymotion! but haven't these people got the common sense to correct their video uploads,don't they check them just to make sure everything's ok with the upload,and it's not just any text that's backwards,it's that people or objects that should be on the right of the screen are now on the left.

Another reason I don't buy Apple products. My LG Android phone has a selfie option switch. I can view the selfie image in mirror, but set the switch to flip it to view. I'm not interested in what I look like. I'm interested in what I'm presenting to the public.
So companies that make these camera apps in phones are so stupid that they cannot differentiate between the selfie camera and the forward pointing camera for which this feature makes absolutely no sence?
I thought it was backwards because people use the wrong camera on their phone because they can't stop looking at themselves. Set up the shot and talk to the lens. Stop getting hot for yourself.
I did a quick experiment with my phone and when I recorded from the front facing camera the Pink Floyd on my shirt was backwards. So I turned my phone around and had to do some setup then recorded for a few seconds and sure enough Pink Floyd was back to itself rightful orientation.
Most modern phones automatically apply image correction like making the face slimmer and softening the skin. Those features are not available when using the other camera.
I see this backwards stuff in a ton of shorts on youtube and it always confused me, makes sense after this explanation :3

100% agree - it's really frustrating to see this especially on "professional" video...

Yes, I use Camtasia and capture my screen at 3840 X 2160 but export as HD. Capturing at UHD is what makes it so clean and crisp.
