After a trip to Idaho, the Boondock Nation Crew heads home to the Midwest to conquer where they began riding snowmobiles: the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wicked creek bottoms show no mercy, and send sleds tumbling. Watch as the BN Crew pushes the limits in their homeland.

Just curious when filming these areas for a TV program do you need a permit?
Depends on the location. If filmed on state/national lands, yes. If filmed on private property, all we need is permission from the land owner.
This video makes me feel sorry for the guys back east more than anything. No wonder there are so many trail riders there.
Seriously. I laughed when I heard them say you can find some pretty technical riding as it pans over completely flat terrain as far as the eye can see.

I typically go riding in Bergland area, is there a bunch of good off trail spots near Houghton? I have a trip planned there this winter

Thats per year my friend. Same as central ny where im from, average 300 inches of snow per year and record 466 inches.

Out west here in Utah we get 500 inches. Last year was 750 inches

BoondockNation, it's cool that you rode it. I have a log cabin on Sandy Lake and ride that area a ton. I'm a low performance Tundra guy, I just like landlooking. Clearly I can't go everywhere but have fun trying. And I live on trail 17 north of Houghton right before the stop sign before Boston pond. Watch the weekend warriors smoking by all winter. So we know snow.
Best boondocking imo is on #3 after it crosses into Ontonagon county after Twin Lakes. If you look at a topo you'll see to the north west is knarly. The p line is pretty sketchy too. I'd guess that the Firesteel area is impossible.

Trail riding looks awful
That's a 100ft stretch from Mosquito to main trail, always fucked. Trails aren't.
They don't make them hills very big out East...............
