Hey Levi, My real name is Todd. 58 yo. Kaleva Mi. Manistee/Benzie Snowbirds Lifetime member. I doubt you would remember me and my boys Alex and Paul, we spent a few hours with you, Tucker, Blair, Rob and several other riders in Gaylord Mi. We had been to several of your races through the years here in Michigan. We have followed your career for the last 20 years. I have been riding Yamaha Apex for several years now. When we meet I was riding a Polaris X Edge 800. Nice to see your back in our UP for a visit. Ride safe my friend.
Hey Todd. It’s been fun having Snocross in Ironwood the last couple years. Great people everywhere and the snow was awesome! You have a Merry Christmas !
You have my kind of attitude towards snowmobiling I don’t care how cold it is, I was out of snowmobiling for 25 years bought an xcr 3 years ago now , makes me feel 24 years old and not 44.
Same here bought a 900 twin arctic cat custom turbo kit to go along with my 96 Polaris triple no matter how cold or crappy it is out first 3 inches in out ditch banging
My family owns a lake house on the western shore of lake gogebic, this lake is beautiful in the winter and the summer. The trails are unreal, the snow is great, and so is the ice fishing!
MAN........................Love the video Levi. You were only about an hour from my house when you were in Bergland. I live in Iron River. We side by side to Bergland a lot in the Summer and stay at the casino there. I wish I'd have known you were going to be in the area, I would have liked to shake your hand and maybe get an autograph for a buddy's son. I would say that I'd like to ride with you, but while my 850 Assault could probably keep up with most machines, I know I don't have the riding skill to keep up with you when you're carving it up! Please keep posting videos, I love seeing them! Peace out brother!
We were out there that week on Wed and Thursday and the snow was nutty!!!! There was so much untouched pow to play in - we probably crossed paths our on the trail too.
I've never had a scenario where I had trouble passing someone on the trail. Now that Levi is out on the trails like the rest of us - that could possibly come to an end. Hope to see this dude in Maine someday!
haha we would have a good time ripping the trails! I rode in Maine years ago, we went to The Forks I believe it was called. stayed in cabins on a hill, and road right next to this huge river. It was awesome!
@@Levi_LaVallee That's Route 201 on the Kennebec River and its literally 10 miles from our cabin. I'm a former Polaris Ambassador and met you at the Syracuse snow show a couple years ago at the Polaris booth. I guess you never know who's coming around the next corner! That's awesome.
Went up there for the first time myself last weekend. Best snow was around Silver City and Mass City/Toivola area. Might be another year of chasing the snow since there's not much promising here in MN so far (again).
We rode Melstrand Saturday. Lots of snow but under the fresh about 6 inches it was hard. Couldn’t really dip a ski. We did 90% off trail because that’s what we like. It was fun but it would have been nice to hit the fresh.
I have been trying to make it out for years! one year I brought sleds out to the Salamanca snocross race but there wasn't good snow at Tug, so i went to Michigan instead. Maybe this is the year.
Started in Boonville on my 1973 Skiroule RTX 447. Been riding the snow belt since, prefer from Penn Mountain west as less traffic than Tug. One thing Tug did was teach you how to ride moguls as by evening, thats what you get. One lap of the hill, about 90 miles is snowcross!! But beware, millions of bumps on older machines, up to present stuff, may increase chances of BPH! So many memories up there, most good, some not so good. I was there when Montague set the record for 24 hr snowfall, I think 94 inches. It was posted on the wall of the Montague Inn for years. Just an incredible place to ride. Almost ran over En con guys with my piped Mach Z...they hid around a corner! Fun times!
You have to get up there early or the trails get beat to hell, I start in Williamson and ride the 104 ridge runner trails some good jumps when you have to go over driveways hahaha
I just watched Bunkie's first of the year Cross Country Race YT vid.. Pine Lake 10 miles per lap. It appears to be almost all Arctic Cat and Polaris entries. Very few Skidoos, yet it sounds like Arctic Cat is getting shut down. They manufactured most all of the Yamaha Models in Thief River Falls MN. The Competitiveness between Arctic Cat and Polaris is so intense, because one of the Three Founders of Polaris left to found Artic Cat. He was one of the two Brothers who founded Polaris. Polaris wanted to make Utility sleds for Trappers and Farmers and ice fishers. Edgar Hetteen founded Arctic Cat, wanted to build lighter faster sleds for fun for recreational use. So he left Polaris. I can't figure out why there are not many Skidoo's in the Cross Country racing. I like their Direct Fuel Injection, 4 roller Clutch ect. Some Skidoo trail sleds are a bit too light and bend if you ride them hard. The only sled they sell that interests me is their 600 CC Competition sled. Of course I would go with and 850 Turbo with Methanol/water injection if I was a Mountain rider. I have never ridden a Mountain Sled, but I have done plenty of Deep Powered Back Country Extreme skiing when I was younger in CO and UT. Being stuck living in Southern MI I bought my first new snowmobile in 2006. I had plans to ride in the UP for my first time last Winter and there wasn't even enough snow to make it up there. Here in SW MI I really have not ridden for two years. It snows then 3 days later gets up to 45-F and rains. Levi if you were not running a race Team you could be competing in the Cross Country events. I can never remember the Letters of the race series did a search and found "Core Power Sports" first. Then I found and Adirondak Cross Country race series. USXC I was thinking is the biggest Cross Country race Series, It was hard to even find on google. The USXC circuit was started in 2012 by Brian Nelson in the wake of the demise of the United States Cross-Country (USCC) circuit after its founder, Pat Mach, died tragically in a snowmobile accident in February of 2011. Many of the circuit’s races, though, have a much longer history than even the USCC - often with other past circuits, including but not limited to the original ISOC, FANS, Heartland, MRP and more.
I raced Heartland series back when I was a teenager. They were the smaller cross country series compared to ISOC but it was fun. Now ISOC is the premier snocross series.
You got me? we went to the old grade and went north and did a quick loop going to west. super fun windy trail heading north. then we went same way but turned to the east and went to Henrys for lunch. then down to the grade and hightailed it back. not a ton of miles as filming slows things down quite a bit, but it was fresh snow so that was fun.
My buddy and I literally just drove up to Bergland from the saint croix falls area yesterday in the AM, rode for the day and drove back in the evening. I'm guessing you guys were there last week when they got hammered the first time.
