Hi everyone! Here's my 2019 Inktober Sketchbook Tour! This year I dedicated a lot more time to the challenge and pushed myself to try different drawing ideas. Working on daily drawings helped me so much with building up more confidence with inking again and I really hope you enjoy this sketchbook tour! Be sure to let me know what you think of my sketchbook. And also let me know if you took part in the challenge! Thank you so much for the amazing support!! It truly means a lot to me and I can't wait to continue posting more drawing videos for you soon. Hope you're all having a great day! -Chris
Janae Harper I never did it before but I thought the list from last year was awesome. This year’s list is more challenging and since I am going to participate, I found out that it is taking me out of my comfort zone. I have started the sketches and even finished some of the artwork. Sometimes I started out with a sketch that I didn’t like but the final result has become something I’m proud of 😊😁👍🏻
Looks at his turtle drawing “Wow thats realistic looking” Him “I would really want to try to draw a realistic turtle someday” Me “Alright ima head out” Edit: thanks for the likes y’all
its because this is more of an illustrative style so a lot of things are exaggerated and cartoony compared to other art styles that tend to more accurately depict the natural world. some styles lend themselves more towards realism even though they don't prioritize realism over other elements that define the genre so for instance impressionist works can read as more realistic than illustrations because illustrators purposefully exaggerate and design shapes to culminate them into a specific idea that they are communicating which they hope is not lost on the viewer, for instance if someone is fat or if food is really tasty. so what he meant was he would like to switch gears and instead of exaggerating the appearance of a turtle to communicate an idea he would like to create a piece which might better hide the hand of the artist while still leaving him with some decisions to make as far as design and composition, but still allowing the innate beauty of the turtle to speak for itself. so its really similar to the idea of trying to create something beautiful based on something thats already pretty and trying to just appreciate the original beauty of the outside world and trying to bring as much of that beauty as you can to the table without tarnishing it or missing the point
Personally; I think Lethal Chris' Inktobers are the most creative, and the colouring is way more pleasing to look at than most. The tan paper he uses with the copics and the extreme highlights/low-lights makes his art stand out so well and I'm always mesmerized. Also his voice is so soothing to listen too I could sleep with his videos playing.

Also your chuckles every now and then make me very happy, it is obvious that you've been extremely passionate about this.
I love how each drawing has an influence on itself. The ornament and ghost, might be his lost ornament. The ruin taken over by the overgrowth shows the after affect of the red caped character. The dragon turning on him into war. Amazing

part of the appeal of the character is that he/she is seen from a distance, sort of a mystery. Maybe their face would be hidden by the shadow of the hood. It was really great how the character in the later drawing had picked up the sword from earlier. Love that kind of touch.

This has been my third year attempting Inktober and has finally been the year that I succeeded. Not very consistent with the “finished” quality. But at the very least I did linework for every piece and got them all done by the deadline with barely any delay! Also used ink, dip pen, brushes and watercolour and by chance the Inktober challenge perfectly filled my entire sketchbook which I started in May this year and am so proud that I filled every page of this sketchbook consistently throughout the year! Always love seeing your sketchbook tours for Inktober, especially with your style, execution, concepts and even materials being so different from mine. Because of you I participated in Inktober this year. I retired and decided to learn to draw. I've been following you for a couple years and you have inspired me so much. This year my goal was just to complete a picture every day, which I did. Honestly, my sketchbook is extremely amateurish compared to your incredible work. You continue to inspire me, and I will continue to teach myself to draw.
Your videos inspired me to start learning how to draw. These are all absolutely amazing drawings. I love the little laugh you have when you get excited about one of your drawings.
LethalChris Drawing, your artwork is amazing!!! Its hard to pick what I like best....the cat I like because it reminds me of our cat Scarlet that just passed.....the picture of the trees reminds me of our getaway spot up north.......the Red Cape pictures, I can imagine the story that goes with them, weaving magic, Dragons and treasure in just for fun....that's how art should be-the portal to where your mind wanders on the line marked by a pen, outlined by a pencil, highlighted with white.......unfolding without any prompts, soaring high and low, racing towards a finish that amazes the viewer with its clarity.....all from a picture.......artists are amazing....
Yes please,That would be amazing. basic shapes to create a dragon, legs or no legs, how the wings work, the faces, scales and textures. So many aspects
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely project. I have begun a sketchbook myself as a daily exercise. What makes me happiest is the generosity of describing your process! All the pages were great, but my favorite by far was "Dark"! I would love to attempt my own version soon. Thank again for your time and care!
Watching this made me have gooseflesh. It's weird, because I never have one, but those little piece of art is so beautiful that I can't even describe it. I'm amazed. I love it, hope I'll see a new one this year!
I really love these sketchbook tours. I like the paper you use, not the standard white. I even like how the image bleeds through the paper because even the backs of each page are interesting. I love the white highlights. I am grateful that you list the materials you use and I need to go to the art store. I really liked the husky, and how you use a bit of color here and there. I like how much nature is in your videos, forests and trees and skies and a volcano too!! I like the red caped character. Watching these art videos has inspired me to start sketching again. I don't know how you could complete even one of these in a day. I'm not an artist....Ok maybe I'm an untrained frustrated artist. Last night I sketched for the first time in years, and drew a swan. Turned out pretty good just going from memory. I want to try some watercolors. I should start a shopping list. Most of my craft supplies are stolen or in storage and it's been killing me not being able to express that side of me. I really am grateful that I found the TH-cam art community for inspiration
I really like how you developed the red caped character throughout this sketchbook! On day 23 when you posted your three Inktober drawings I had been very discouraged with Inktober and wasn't motivated to draw, but the video you posted Really got me inspired and led me to make a drawing I am really proud of! Thank you So much for sharing your fantastic drawings. Can't wait to see what yo draw next!
Your art is so smooth and holds so much atmosphere! I absolutely love how you handle light and shading. Its also great to see how your drawings werent just plain black and white (although thats always an option of course :)
13:33 Hasn't anyone else possibly thought that it's the *humans* who're the enemies?? I mean, not tryna hate, your art is absolutely gorgeous, but in terms of nature versus humans... HUMANS are the enemies, EVERYTIME
because its drawn from the perspective of the humans, the dragon would be the enemy. if it was drawn looking down, I'd say the humans were the enemy. also humans are nature.
@@drpancake4103 Just because it's in the perspective of the humans does not make it an enemy. It shows no signs of aggression or any desire to attack any human, it's just flying through the night and the humans decided that since it's a giant beast, it must be killed. Wouldn't be the first time
Being an enemy doesn't make you bad it just put you on the opposing side of someone else. So judging from the picture unless he likes being pummelled with rocks they are each others enemy. From what I've heard those dragons aren't native to this land and are destroying the ecosystem. Buring crops, killing livestock. Children are starting to starve in that community due to that invasive species. The dragons don't directly kill humans, in fact they don't care about them, however they have devastated the land and much of the life there is dying off. It would be nice to find a better solution to the problem but if these people don't act quickly it might be too late for everyone; and I commend them for that.
@@drpancake4103 Wow you did a lot of research, huh? Well, I was just saying that the dragon wasn't doing anything and all of a sudden was being attacked for the sole purpose of being big enough to be feared, doesn't necessarily mean they were doing all of that. Oh well, you can interpret a drawing in whatever way you want, that *is* what art's about
haha in fairness I agreed with you at first, when I heard him say that. That's why I went on that bit of a rant, so I could look at it from a different perspective, sure what else is art for.
I love your drawings I was particularly excited by the way the copic markers permeated the paper and can be viewed from the back like a silverscreen or a reflection in a pond giving it a ghostly look
This is my first video I've watched of you and I'm truly amazed. You art is so realistic and I was inspired on many of your art pieces. Definitely not gonna be my last video I watched. I'm kinda surprised your not more popular then you are. Thanks for taking your time to read this. Have a great day you amazing human! 🤗😃😀

Your videos inspired me to start learning how to draw. These are all absolutely amazing drawings. I love the little laugh you have when you get excited about one of your drawings.
For the rad cape character, You should make A comic book story that would be cool
Who else thought it was a red cardinal lol when he said red cape character, it shocked me
Loving Lex I thought it was a cardinal until I really looked at ot
All of these artworks are really stunning ! Also your voice is very calming.
Can u maybe do a tutorial on how to sketch /sketch a dragon?
That's a great suggestion! Thank you. :) I'd love to try something like that. Hoping to start working on more tutorials again soon.
Yes please,That would be amazing. basic shapes to create a dragon, legs or no legs, how the wings work, the faces, scales and textures. So many aspects
I like it how all drawings are made in one recognizable style. Great work!
I find with the uni ball and gelly roll whites end up turning a pale colour of the markers underneath after a while. Anyone else found this?
I love your work! Its so amazing! I was just wondering how do you get the colors to blend without lines? I cant figure it out 🙈
Have been following your channel for the last few years and I always look forward to your inktober book tours.
Fantastic collection of work!$🔥🔥
Thank you!! :)
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely project. I have begun a sketchbook myself as a daily exercise. What makes me happiest is the generosity of describing your process! All the pages were great, but my favorite by far was "Dark"! I would love to attempt my own version soon. Thank again for your time and care!
Should have been called "inkedecember" since everything looked so wintry :)
Watching this made me have gooseflesh. It's weird, because I never have one, but those little piece of art is so beautiful that I can't even describe it. I'm amazed. I love it, hope I'll see a new one this year!
Me: Let me get my pen and paper..
Me Also: "I Can't Really Draw"... 😂😂
For the people that disliked. Pls explain why? I really want to understand why you would dislike this amzing artist
I would love to see a world turtle, with a city on its back with a over grown rocky body
I always get so excited when one of your videos comes up! Love your artwork!
This is how many times he said highlight
⬇
Yoo these are great! Keep up the amazing work!
Me:MOM PLZ THE LAST TIME CAN I GET A WHITE INK PEN
Mom:no
I really love these sketchbook tours.
I really am grateful that I found the TH-cam art community for inspiration
jajaja me encantan tus dibujos brou
EYYY UN COMENTARIO EN ESPAÑOL!! :D

My eyes loved your inktober. My self-esteem did not like it. jk. good job!
Your art is so smooth and holds so much atmosphere! I absolutely love how you handle light and shading. Its also great to see how your drawings werent just plain black and white (although thats always an option of course :)

Hasn't anyone else possibly thought that it's the *humans* who're the enemies??
Third!
Actually you're first!
Your Inktober 2019 sketchbook tour was beautiful and inspiring.😊 I'm interested in seeing more of your red caped hero.
You are seriously disgustingly amazing. This is absolutely insane. These all look amazing. Seriously.
Lovely. My favourite was the airship
wow.... your Inktober sketchbook is literally goals.... love every single piece of artwork in there ... i honestly can't even choose a favorite.
Love the red cape story, the entire month was well thought out. Kudos.
The lighting in your works are absolutely fantastic! Love your art!
Your sketchbooks are my favorite part of Inktober. That character is really developing a story! I haven't ever done Inktober, I'm a watercolorist, but I do love seeing what everyone has done.
The husky eyes were so awesome as was every drawing!!!
