Dear Claudio and Louie, how about an analysis of YellO? This fabulous group (duo) is for me the next step after Kraftwerk. These Germans were theorists and cold groovy... These Swiss are just crazy and ultra groovy. Both used very dense synth sounds and dynamic beats, I think, with a very far imagination.... Among my favorite albums, Claro que si (82), you gotta say yes... (83) and the mixes (85)
So, since UVI has sampled and recreated almost every synthesizer out there ( I remember the video when they brought you the original Prophet 10) why don't you ask them to bring you a Synthex? There hasn't been a decent Synthex video in YT for a long time.. And even if they can't do that, I can't imagine anyone else being able to do this video.. So, how about it? It is a synthesizer that most of us will never get to see in the flesh, so, at least let's see it in the Dr.Mix channel..
There is so much mad good stuff in the Mr Oizo catalogue, Analog Worms Attack, Positif, MSeq.. And the All Wet album is banging. The Artwork and videos etc are super creative. Mr Oizo is so much more than Flat Beat but its a legend in itself. Love you Dr Mix!
Claudio... After a Bontempi and a Farfisa Matador, Korg MS20 was my first serious instrument in 1978. I was 14 years old. Now I am 59, it is still on my desk and present in my tracks. For me it's synth number one. Forever!
The owners of this synthesizer know how to get all the close sounds of a PS3300 with an MS-20. The Korg plugin version is 8-voice polyphonic and that's when I discovered that with this thing I could get sounds from polysix monopoly and PS-3100 and PS-3300. The art of sampling is not only for sampling vinyl and noises, but also for experimenting with the prerecorded sound of a synthesizer like this one. I discovered over the years that this synthesizer makes simple sounds to play in polyphony, really warm pads and horns, very interesting flutes and really strange complicated sounds for percussion. It is perfect for electro funk, reggae, hip-hop, house, techno, d&b, uk garage, 2 step, break beat... I experiment a lot with this thing, sampling with Logic Pro and the truth is that I am very surprised at how much I use this machine. Logic's chord memory is crazy simple, from an MS-20 lead I get a deep house style pad from the 90s... I recommend this machine to design and experiment, it hides an exciting world from a simple and basic perspective. Thanks for the video, greetings.
Oh man, now I love you even more! Such an iconic instrument. It was such a pivotal moment for me when I first heard that track. The whole album, Analog Worms Attack, is a hugely underrated album in my opinion. Thanks a lot for another great video!
I always tought that Mr. Oizo is one of the most iconic house track ever produceed. So happy that you brought this out with the amazing Korg MS.20 concept.
I didn’t realize I was supposed to be headbanging that much when using my MS-20. I will now modify my playing style accordingly. And visit my chiropractor every week.
This song is just so much fun, timeless classic, like the Korg as well! Also, I think we all can agree that the studio needs a Flat Eric plushie somewhere!👀😂
You know the Alex Ball Synth Tutorial, I believe, where in the comments Mr. Oizo himself confirms what he did: "I sampled small bits (akai S1000) and recreated the groove on my sequencer (back in the says it was demo version of cakewalk express!!) !" 😀
UVI MS20 doesn't sound like MS20... In UVI are the UVI filters. Content are samples. Dont like. So I cant recommend UVI sample packs, its better to buy a real vsti.
Man I love when people gives attention to someone else than justice or Daft punk in the world of house Mr oizo is an incredible musician and SECAM is an amazing song one of the best of the genre Love to see this
That reminds me I was almost going to pickup a Korg afew years ago at a local store but the guy would give no discount so I backed out. It retailed at 900 dollars.. it got good reviews.
My MS20 has followed me since 1978! Now it has Kenton pro solo interface to drive it with MIDI keyboard and that's running very well (76 or 88 keys midi keyboard is recommended to calibrate Kenton pro solo as well).
What is the cheapest self contained keyboard to give as a present to say a 9 year old to get them interested in to playing music - then get one and show us what you can do with it and what it cost .
Yamaha and Casio make decent polyphonic boards for a couple hundred bucks that have a small assortment of different sounds and drum/bass accompaniment. If your kid was 14-16 I would say splurge the $800 on a Studiologic Sledge. It has plenty of pre-programmed sounds, but its layout is classic programmable synth with big knobs for learning/tweaking sounds and has built in reverb/delay effects. Plus it is multitimbral, where you can play two different sounds at the same time by keyboard splitting.
@@entropybentwhistle Many thanks It is for grandchildren when they might be old enough in 5 years time . I would have loved to have just some musically ability. You meet people who can sit at a keyboard and play any tune you mention it is like some impossible power. Maybe the latest machines can get the less naturally gifted the joy of music .
classic video and song . . hey have you guys ever done a gabber synth recreation? you could do the crazy dance in the studio too just dont knock anything over lol.
KORG, yes, but I remain nostalgic for the sounds of Mini Moog :-) Bravo for this very good video, I admire your passion for electronic instruments. Ninno nioo! lol. L O V
I was in Thailand just 3months ago with wife and 2kids. We were walking in a night market in Pattaya, there was a local seller who sold plush-toys. Kids loved the Pokemon-plushes. I saw Mr Oizo there. Alone in a basket with different plush toys. Took a photo of him. So sad.. I was thinking do I buy the plush and put it on my shelf at home. Next to my MC-505. I didn't and now as I saw this video I remembered that moment from that night market. Should have bought Mr Oizo and brought him home! Might have cost like 30-50 baht, that is ~one euro.
Please be more gentle with the MS 20.
Nah.
What an amazing synthesizer
Congrats on 700K! Time for another celebratory live stream! ❤
So cool. Man this takes me back. One of the first songs I got off Napster
First 😂😂😂😂🎶🎶🎶🐧 looking forward Claudio. 👍
Love the energy and history lesson!
oro puro este canal
Yeah!!!
I'm sure he replied to a comment on something saying it was an LFO and the different sections were recorded
The Original was done with a MS-20 and a TR-606, sampled into an Akai S1000. That's it.
Great job guys 👍
EXCELENTE AMIGO Y QUE BUENO QUE HACES MENCION A ALEX BALL, SALUDOS DESDE LA TIERRA DEL TACO MEXICO!!!!

Sometimes, I play this to check the health of my old MS-20. 🙂
😊 i love IT ❤
if you compare Arturia with UVI's MS20 ? who wins the battle??

E gnente abbiamo perso Doctor Mix
name of the song at minute 3.00?
Nossa como sou enganado.... Até ouvindo pelo celular percebe-se a diferença do hardware para o plugin😢
✌️🇺🇦
Flat Beat brings out the same head movement for everyone....theres no escape.

@@pab26120 Thanks for mentioning it, I have to see it now, the trailer was good :)
Nothing beats Claudio and his love to synths!
Exactly! ❤️

Big smiles from 1999 😁, but please Dr.Mix can you give that MS20 more love.
Every time you dropped it my nerves jumped 😂.
And the poor Rhodes below it!!!! haha I was on the edge of my seat
@@keyboard_customsThat was my bigger concern, also! 😅
Claudio, please be carefull with that MS20, I was shaking while watching how you are picking it in your hands and putting it down :D :D
It's a tough guy, it can take a beating ;) Don't worry 😁
Oh man, now I love you even more! Such an iconic instrument. It was such a pivotal moment for me when I first heard that track. The whole album, Analog Worms Attack, is a hugely underrated album in my opinion. Thanks a lot for another great video!

Your passion for music, synths, and life is incredible. You’re an inspiration doctor.
I love your enthusiasm...
If you ever come to Pennsylvania stop in for a beer and a bowl😊
I can't believe my eyes! Did Dr. Mix cheat on Roland with Korg?!
Roland is over priced junk with the exception of J8.
EPIC! SO glad I had my big surround sound speakers and sub turned on for that 😁😁😁👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I didn’t realize I was supposed to be headbanging that much when using my MS-20. I will now modify my playing style accordingly. And visit my chiropractor every week.
I prefer the Cherry Audio PS-20 for a vst version
This song is just so much fun, timeless classic, like the Korg as well!

Italian French touch
Waouuu !!! Incroyable, Merci Mr Mix !!! Je m'attendais pas à cette vidéo, je suis ravi :) :) :)
Alex Ball is also a very good musician,
great with synths and he knows Geert Van Schlänger who makes p*rn music 😁
Génial ! Une maîtrise du matériel … un régal vos vidéos Doctor mix 😉
any chance of recreating Cruel Summer - bananarama
I like korg MS series. MS10, MS20, MS50, SQ10 & VC10.
KORG достойный аппарат!😊👍🇷🇺😊
Louie is Harry Potter!!!! 👍
do you treat all your synths that shitty? Oof!
As a kid I used to wait for the flat beat video on MTV.
Now, as a 30+ year old, I also love the music.
As a Kid, I mostly liked the Flat Eric puppet 😅
You know the Alex Ball Synth Tutorial, I believe, where in the comments Mr. Oizo himself confirms what he did: "I sampled small bits (akai S1000) and recreated the groove on my sequencer (back in the says it was demo version of cakewalk express!!) !" 😀

Mr. Oizo's name is Quentin Dupieux, he directed several hard-to-find movies (e.g. Rubber, Wrong) that are hilarious.

Mr oizo is an incredible musician and SECAM is an amazing song one of the best of the genre
Love to see this
I hope to someday have a mint condition original MS-20, there's nothing quite like it.
In 1991 I bought one of these from a guy from college who's gran had one in loft .....paid a grand total of £30 !
That reminds me I was almost going to pickup a Korg afew years ago at a local store but the guy would give no discount so I backed out. It retailed at 900 dollars.. it got good reviews.
Legend has it that the song was created in Music 2000 for PlayStation 1 😉
My MS20 has followed me since 1978!

I went synth shopping. It was this or the Moog Grandmother at Guitar Center. Sorry, Korg. I did like it a lot when i played it.
Hello, the multitrack download is not working, 403 forbidden
Ah Everyone had a flat Eric in the back window of their car in 99. Great times.
If you are going for a job interview - listen to or preferable watch Flat Beat right before, like a minute before. You can thank me later
Kind of regretting selling my MS-20 about 30 years ago... ;-)
Them:How many coffees you had?
Me: 0:00
Aren’t you worried about scratching the top of your Rhodes?!
I want to love someone like Claudio does with synths. But I have that same love and enthusiasm with my dogs and my guitar
"not possible to record in a single session"
You've never messed with the lfo rate, bud?
I'd love to have an engineer to work with that is that awesome. My engineering partner died and impossible to replace 😊. The groove is awesome guys.

Look Mum No Computer's favourite instrument. 😁
The real issue as long as l can see: you cannot map the controller correctly to the vst,l mean in general ?
You’re cool but a little bit much .. 😂

The pure nonchalance of Mr Oizo,
So cool to describe Flat Eric's beat - But where is your plush costume?
Why is this video x1.5
Only one Doctor Mix!
The video is BLAST!
Ok....lmao.
I truly appreciate your enthusiasm and background in everything music.
You funny.
