Thank you for watching. It always takes me a little bit to get back into the grove with this and my TTSH (Arp Clone) when I have been away for a min. I really dig the sound of the MS-20 thats for sure!
@@craigwilliamsmusic Just a Behringer Arp 2600 in addtion to my MS20 mini! Have you done any patching between your MS20 and TTSH? I know the MS20 don't use Volt/Octave, but that is only for pitch right, not modulating other stuff, or? (Have also got Behringer Crave (and bunch of other more normal Synths) so between these three semi modular Synths, I guess there can be lots of fun and crazy patching that can be done!)
Really love that Moog Lead, and the MS-20's filter is legend. Question - is there any way to bypass the hardwired legato on the MS-20 through patching? I feel like it's harder to play than something like my Mother 32, as every note has to be played disconnected from the last. Also not a fan of the first note priority (or is it last?).
The synth that has been on my bucket list for a long time and that I was finally able to get my hands on. It sounds so different from the rest of my synths that it fits perfectly in my studio. www.youtube.com/@studiomofunic2503
I think what ever works best for you. I have a bit of Eurorack modular gear so the smaller patch points are pretty good to incorporate the MS20 mini into that set up.
They should be pretty close. The original versions might start sounding a little different these days due to their age. Each mini should be pretty close though.
@@craigwilliamsmusic possibly incredibly stupid question, and I imagine the answer is yes, but I honestly dont know how it works enough to logic it out on my own: does the patch cable length and diameter influence the sound?
5 Patches You Must Make On The Korg MS20 MINI - quite different from the full size version... You really need to patch the filter its own envelope, otherwise the opening and closing amp will interfere with filter sweeps.
The Moog-ish lead is very nice dry. The reverb takes it to another level IMO. Great video.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thanks! just got a vintage MS20, this helped immensely!!
Awesome, glad to hear!
That pad tuning idea is genius
Thanks for watching and thank you for the nice comment.
Thanks so much for this! Awesome vid,, can’t wait to watch again with my ms-20!

Awesome, congrats on your new synth.
Would you recommend to get a vintage ms 20 or ms20 Fs, looking for liquidly resonance filter moves! And nasal sounds…

mine sounds vastly different and Im so confused
it's an ms20 mini but allegedly it should sound and behave the same

I haven't checked but I don't think so.

I have had the full size but now I just have the MINI. In the context of a song I can't hear much difference. Thanks for the feedback on the patches.
The Mk 2 filter is a great alternative when you use feedback distortion patches. @@craigwilliamsmusic
