Wow this was a meaningless game for the team not matter what happened they were locked in at the 5 seed. So yeah rest your starters give the backups the experience and evaluate guys for future roles. It was a no brainer to rest your starters. I don’t know about you but I want this team as healthy as possible for the playoffs.

Young guys need that on field experience against people who want to go after them hard. Not playing against their own team mates. That helps but not the same level of execution.

I'd much rather play the Texans vs. the Colts or Jaguars. Houston has very little playoff experience, and that should be exploited by Van Pelt & Flacco.
The Jags lost 5 out of thier last 6 games.... Houston put up 22 with Davis Mills. I appreciate the positive energy, but the Jags would have been a much easier path than the red hot CJ Stroud AT Houston. Gotta get it done.

Dog what? We were fifth seed no matter what happened, top priority was getting young guys some playing time and avoiding injuries, so overall a pretty good result. We'll be healthier for next week and in a better position to beat the Texans. Need to look longer term. If it makes you feel any better, the Bengals are still out of the playoffs but potentially now have a worse draft spot lol.
You should just consider this game a preseason game he's also looking at players and deciding who might be gone next season I'm sure they want to clear some salary cap so I really didn't expect them to win it would have been nice but no big deal it would have been stupid to put your starters out there for such a meaningless game
