I, too, have made it a blessed habit, to listen to the INCOMPARABLE Danish String Quartet on a daily basis! They feed my soul, with their soulful, bountiful generosity....SO INSPIRED & HUMANLY musically!
Thank you for sharing this! I have such fond memories of the City Hall in the 70s when I was growing up in Hong Kong. I am delighted that Hong Kong audiences enjoyed the Danish String Quartet. Their folk repertoire is absolutely brilliant!
Lovely recording of (probably) my favourite string quartet! Unfortunately, the audio seems to be not very well balanced. The lows seem to be very loud and strong as opposed to the muted highs. This is easily fixed with either different microphones for cello (and double bass theoretically) and violin and viola so they can be balanced before recording. Another option would be to just fix it in post with reducing the volume of the lows (maybe even a little low-cut) and increasing the volume of the highs. It should always be kept in mind that lows from instruments like the cello are more notable to the ear and louder in general than highs from violins.
