  • This is an overview on what proc coefficients are and its interactions that they have in the game. There may be things I have left out so make sure to comment your proc coefficient finding!     I've known about this for a while from using the BetterUI mod (love that thing), which says each ability's proc coefficient and an item's chance to proc with each survivor's ability; and also gleaning from the wiki on proc coefficients. But this still helps! Thank you!

    I just want to add one thing: any item proc'ed by a crit will also crit (ig if you crit on the hit that procs your AtG the AtG will be a crit). This rule only excludes charged perforator which rolls for a crit wether the original hit was one or not. This means your charged perforator cannot crit on railgunner since they always have 0% crit chance.

    Wait, I thought that 10 tri tip always just overrode proc coef. and made it a 100% chance. Huh, learn something new every day

    Question: when you say that huntress’ flurry has a 0.7 proc coefficient, is that on one flurry or each arrow? Also, if it crits, does it roll even more on those extra arrows?

    I heard somewhere that it's not that brilliant behemoth carries over the proc but that it's can spread the insta kill because it's damage is based on the initial damage of the attack and since lost seer's makes your attack supposedly deal a few hundred thousand damage that's why the explosion insta kills. Is that actually how it works?

      The visual that shows all the "damage numbers" when you proc an insta kill are strictly visual, turning off damage numbers won't get rid of those number visuals. Mithrix being unable to be insta killed means its not just a large flat amount of damage.

    The "Better UI mod" also displays your current %chance of proccing when hovering the ability with the cursor when pressing Tab in game

    Does behemoth proc bleed off of shatterspleen? I always feel like I apply more bleed stacks with that, not sure if this is just placebo or not.

    So is having a high number of sticky bombs bad? Since if they trigger they effectively stops the proc chain.

      Proc chains will continue with or without stickies, so think of stickies as just a damage boost on top of your proc chain. Great question btw!

    my question is how do you know the survivors' proc coefficients

      They're in the game files, but nothing about them are mentioned ingame sadly. So all coefficient info from the ingame files are on the riskofresources site listed to help document em :)

      If you are willing to mod, you can use the BetterUI mod by XoXFaby, you can then see proc coefficients and most other stats in game by hovering over abilities and items.

    So why does clover with atg make it a 19% chance to proc and not 20%?

      Probability doesn't flat double when taking two consecutive instances into consideration, there should be an equation for clover's calculations on the risk of rain 2 wiki to better understand the reasoning behind it

      ATG with no clover is 10%, meaning the chance of the ATG not proccing is 90%
      Clover only rerolls when the outcome is not the beneficial outcome, so the additional chance of an ATG proccing is 10% of the 90% chance that it didn't proc on the first roll, so 9%
      As much as I want to make the joke, 9% + 10% does in fact equal 19%.

      @@a_cats That's almost correct, the best way to write the formula is 1-(1-p)^(x+1) where p is the proc chance and x is the number of clovers. You need the +1 to the number of clovers to emulate the initial roll for proc chance

    This video has convinced me of something that I suspected for a while. This game is not well balanced, and Hopoo should be ashamed. Proc coef should not be affecting damage, aoe size, or healing. It should only be affecting chance to trigger an effect. Brilliant Behemoth is literally useless on anything with less than .7 coef. Saying "the game isn't meant to be balanced", or "it's just a game for fun" is a cope, and I don't trust Hopoo to give this game the respect it deserves.
    This video highlights one issue (pro coefficient) but the game has so many glaring flaws. Bands are so busted, that just 1 of them literally carries a game. They add items like Hunter's Harpoon, along side all the corrupted items. White tier items have tri-tip dagger, an item good enough to be a green item, in the same tier as Bison Steak, an item that everyone loves, because you never feel bad printing it into another item. Then Green tier has Hunter's Harpoon, which is printer food in a casual run, and a liability on Eclipse. You literally never want it. Meanwhile in the same update, they added all of the Corrupted items, which are fantastic across the board. The only corrupted items people don't love, are the Encrusted Key, and the Singularity Band. Encrusted key is just a worse Rusted key. Singularity Band is still great, but it's competing with the OP fire and ice bands. (also Singularity band it better than most give it credit, because the suck effect makes other enemies get pulled into it, makes other aoe items more effective by clumping enemies up, and makes it easier for you to hit the enemies inside of it with your regular skills.)
    The most egregious (in my opinion) issue is the character balance. Huntress is so fragile, and the range on her primary attack is so short. Don't get me wrong, she's still playable, and can be very potent, because she can sprint while attacking, but she is majorly outclassed, and this was the case before they even added Captain to the game with the initial release. Every other character is more consistent, and has more health, and thus more health regen. With Bandit added to the game, she isn't even the best glasscannon, because his gun is so powerful, and his special skill is also incredible. Add in the decreased proc coef of Flurry and Arrow Rain, and I really can't understand how they justify her balancing in the game. She's not the only one with issues, but this post is too long already, and I know no will read it, or care about my opinion.

      I feel like item quality variety is required for a game like this to be interesting
      Also how is encrusted key bad? Everyone I've heard mention it loves it because void items are so powerful and it lets you pick between 3
      And huntress' strength is her mobility, I got E8 first (and first try) on huntress just because she has the easiest time dodging hits
      Edit: Also behemoth's damage isn't affected by proc coefficient, only AoE range, so it's still very powerful with low proc coefficients.
