Dan don't let twitch chat peddle you any garbage about "5 minutes per stage" because as long as you're picking up items you're doing better than 75% of backseaters
yeah you usually want to spend 10 minutes per stage, and ALWAYS grab every item you see
People severely misunderstand what "5 minutea per stage" actually means, it's supposed to be a general rule of thumb, not something you religiously follow

@@MrBlinky10101 it's not a very good rule of thumb either, it suggests that time is more important than items which is not the case at all. The most consistent players I've seen all spend like 8-12 minutes per stage
@@a_cats time management is still a crucial part of RoR2, and the more you play the better you can navigate the stages, find items more quickly and analyze your run better. Yes, sometimes spending 12 minutes on stage 1 doing a bunch of prints will lead you to a win, but that's part of the rule and something the best players also advocate for.
"5 minutes per stage" is a rule of thumb that let's you better analyze your individual run, but each run is different and it's not something you always have to follow. If you think you have to always spend 8-12 minutes per stage, you're just as wrong as those who say you always need to spend 5 or less. You are missing the point.

This game is so freaking good and I can never get anyone to listen to me about it. It's very frustrating. But watching someone play for the first time was cool. The concept of trying to speedrun this game your first time playing almost feels like trolling yourself, though.
