No I wish I did. It's not something I thought I would be doing, my job in particular just happens to train and certify us in x-rays. Since it's an urgent care they have x-ray machines and only MA's and Doctors and a few CT Techs. So they have to train the MA's to do x-rays.
Yup they do. Post accident drug tests too every time if you ever get hurt. Random drug tests as well. Which isn’t often but still it’s going to be random
@@Yazmincruz7are you certified ? I am a medical assistant myself , have not scheduled to take the test yet but plan to in the future , but I notice a ton of MA’s where I’m from do a lot just like you (phlebotomy, labs, etc) but are not certified.
@@jacendriathomas2177 No I’m certified. Phlebotomists do a particular thing, EKG techs do a particular thing & etc. There’s “patient care coordinators” now and I thing they do the vitals and triage portion. MA’s have a broader range of training to do all of the above and more. Now it depends on the company that hires that cares or not if you have a certification. Most do but some don’t at least here in TX I know
@@jacendriathomas2177 I took my test almost 1 full year after being in the field thankfully I was able to do that. And I’m glad I did because 85% of the things I did on the floor were on that test both front office and back office.

Great video! I noticed you said you don't do X-rays yet. Do they train you how to do that or did you have to obtain another certification?
Thanks! Yes they will train us and certify us to do X-rays at that job after we’ve been there for a year.

Yes we give all kinds on injections. Deltoid, glute, forearm, thigh

I went to school December 2019 and Graduated August 2020 and have been in the MA field since then.
