I respect rico as a musician. Hindi madali ang nagawa nya sa rivermaya, When Perf left the band, He take the role of a guitarist and change the music of rivermaya from a POP ROCK sound of the 1st album, to being more of an Alternative sounding sound. Then umalis si Bamboo, Rico Again fill up the role of being a frontman. Then naging experimental and MORE alternative sounding ang tunog ng Maya. What i like about rico is kahit tumugtog siya ng mabigat na tugtugan ay masarap pa rin pkinggan.
My thoughts. He's been through a lot and many people didnt appreciate it, unfortunately. He stayed and stood by the band, carried on despite his limitations because he needs to, despite some critics and devoted fans opinions/ harsh comments, he endured for years until maybe a time that its not worth it anymore. Good thing he continued making music thereafter
I think what has changed for Rico Blanco now is he is much loved by the way he present himself to us w so much respect. Very distinct. Sharing his lovelife in this myx headliner for October is very much a bonus.
