Gilfy, your video footage is world-class. The accompanying soft music is perfect. Please don't feel you have to drive yourself so hard to give the world your magnificent work so quickly. Please get some well-deserved rest. We'll be here waiting for you. ❤
Totally agree. We would rather have Gylfi safe and sound and wait a few hours more, rather than have a Gylfi who is exhausted and risking his health. We love you, Gylfi. ❤️ from 🇺🇸
Even although I am halfway around the world in California I feel I know this corner of Iceland so well. I so appreciate you indicating on your videos the names of key mountains, towns, and specific locations. Thank you Gilfi.
Hi Gylfi. This is what makes your video's so great to watch, no sensationalism just the beauty of Iceland. Thank you for all your hard work. Best wishes and kind regards from NZ.
Thank you for this video. You are an artist. Not only do you show us the power of a volcano, but you show us the beauty of it and how it transforms the landscape. Your photography is art at its finest.
You can see how striated and cracked the entire area of the Reykjanes Peninsula is at the start of the video. It's cool to be able to see the marks of the forces that are forming Iceland. Wonderful choice of music, Gylfi. Thank you again for amazing work.
Amazing. When I see this, I imagine what early Scandinavians must have been thinking, knowing little about the inner workings of Earth, trying to make a life in this land, so volatile and beautiful at the same time. It’s so cool to think of how it links with the early histories of these places, ways of life… just breathtaking stuff. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely magnificent. No one else does what you do. Thank you. Appreciating the beauty and elemental power of this eruption is easier knowing that so far, it’s not expected to damage infrastructure or do other serious damage.
The opening footage -- talk about an establishing shot. Yet it's happening in _your_ country, _your_ island. I imagine that may give you an occasional grim thought wondering what will happen in this series of eruptions. Stay safe Gylfi. Thank you for continuing to bring this to us.
This is the earliest I’ve been! How beautiful! It looks like this eruption isn’t threatening anything, relief. It is very photogenic, the fountains, landscape, weather. I hope the Bureau of tourism is noticing your talent. This is a perfect combination of your footage, music choice, and production. 💜✊
Thank You Gylfi, heard your voice on another upcoming content creator named Martin Sanchez (drone videos of volcano activities in Iceland). Glad you made it, we've been praying for your safety, knowing you had a long distance to travel (via Shawn Willsey). Take care and stay safe, Gylfi. NBK NW Arizona, USA
So gorgeous. Your drone footage is really impressive and the weather and lighting looks perfect to me and shows off the field of new lava. Thank you for the beautiful video. Safe travels!
It's amazing so much beauty can accompany the terrifying eruption. Thank you for putting this together for all of us to see. Incredible production work on your part.
Loved the slo mo lava eruptions !!! Particularly at eye level !!!!! GOLD STAR for that, Glyfi . Your locale pop ups are priceless . Bearings for me are everything after these many months. Thank you.
Awesome Gylfi! We arrived from New Zealand on Thursday and could see the eruption from our hotel room. We went back today for another look. Magnificent! We are having visual overload here in Iceland. I am in heaven!
It's possible to hike to the volcano, it's not banned, but has to be done carefully, if you want to the Icelandic experience all the way, and enjoy your stay :)
Awesome video, and incredible choice of accompanying music, as always. Take care, stay safe, and be careful on those long drives! You don't want to be falling asleep at the wheel.
Once again you ground the eruption and us in the landscape, give us a wonderful sense of place, show us how it relates to the other significant places nearby. It feels so real as if we are almost there ourselves. Thank you.
The images you put together are very beautiful and the music is a great match. Provides some context and tells the story in a way that no one else does. Fortunately Grindavik, the power plant and the Blue Lagoon are safe, at least for now. 🙂
Thank you, Gylfi. Great pictures, and masterful film making with your captioning that clarifies exactly what you're showing and where it is. Rest up today.Your many fans don't want you to drive yourself to exhaustion, as much as we love your work.
Absolutely love this, Gylfi. I saw the start of the eruption just as daylight went on Friday … the live cameras showed the amazing force but all perspective was lost because of the dark and the extreme zoom of the images. Your drone footage finally let me understand this eruption and where it was, with the final shot linking this eruption to the rest of sundnukgigar and grindavik so that I got my bearings. The music was the cherry on top. I can’t wait for your narrated footage!
I enjoy the music with your videos. Very relaxing. I enjoyed watching the eruption live a few days ago. Sorry you didn't make it for the initial eruption. I am very glad that the Blue Lagoon and Grindvik are safe for the time being.
Thanks, Gylfi, this was excellent footage. As others have noted, your habit of labelling landmarks is really appreciated, as it helps with perspective and honing on location. But best of all is the high-altitude footage which shows the entire lava field in relation to not only Svartsengi and Grindavík, but to Vogar as well! It seems so much closer to Vogar and Reykjanesbraut than I'd expected it to be. I hope the fissure series doesn't keep extending too far northward, or the main road to Keflavik will be in jeopardy!
@JustIcelandic Ooh, lovely! I'm in South Australia, where it's currently almost 11pm. I look forward to checking in to see if there's a video update waiting when I wake up 8 hours from now! 🙂
Great Picture Gylfi. thanks a lot. We see that it is going far north and not that much towards the power station at the moment. I suppose it is a good news for everybody around. Stay safe and healthy. and enjoy the moment
You get me with your videos! Showing the landscape (in this case place of the new eruption) with impressing footage, perfect fitting music... wonderful!
Thanks Gylfi, I also watched the livestream from Isak Finnbogason (@IcelandFPV) yesterday. It seems there is no spot yoiu can (safely) come close. I hope the moss fires don't create too much air quality problems when the winds turn, current wind direction is perfect, even Grindavik is not bothered.
this is some of the most beautiful footage of the latest eruption gylfi [especially during the day] i'm glad you were able to make it down in time and i'm keeping my fingers crossed for your country thanks
From what I can see at 0:15, the nearest lava flow (or is it moss fires) is only about 3.5 km away from Reykjanesbraut (the main road from Reykjavik to Keflavik Airport), and it's mostly going downhill from that area as it is an old shield volcano. Isn't anyone worried Reykjanesbraut or Vogar will be under lava soon? Fascinating footage Gilfy!
Love your videos, especially the overview of the greater landscape and labels that show where important locations are on the video. Take care and rest up.
Thank you again for the great footage - and context!!! It’s so wonderful to be able to place the location on the landscape. Especially since live cam footage has been obscured by camera locations and moss fires. I don’t know the area this far north as well, so I couldn’t picture it. (I haven’t been to Iceland in person… yet. Someday. But I’ve seen a lot of footage, partly thanks to you. 🙂 I’m so glad that the eruption isn’t flowing towards Grindavik or the power plant (and blue lagoon). 👍♥️
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Without using words, you show me a glimpse of the Earth as an evolving planet, natural processes of fire and ice, and human beings just a momentary blip in its history. One day we'll all be gone, and the Earth will go on doing what it's always done. This thought pleases me. Thank you once again.
Beautiful views of the new lava flows, lava fountains and the moss fires with the important context of what is where. It is a big relief that the eruption this month is to the northeast of the previous eruptions this year and the lava flows did not reach any roads or other infrastructure yet. The first part of your video shows the many faults that are between the road and the new vents. Those are probably old and not active in this set of magma movements over the last three years. Nice job on capturing the details of the landscape with the helpful lighting.
Gilfy, your video footage is world-class. The accompanying soft music is perfect. Please don't feel you have to drive yourself so hard to give the world your magnificent work so quickly. Please get some well-deserved rest. We'll be here waiting for you. ❤

I concur ❤ from USA
True words! ❤️ And there is nothing to add to the rest of your comment either! 🌋☺️
Totally agree ❤ everything about this video is just perfect ❤
I can only second that! 😊
Thank you Gylfi for identifying the various landmarks in your videos - it is very helpful.
My pleasure!
@@JustIcelandic ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ NEIGH !
Yes the first eruption crator looked enormous 😮
Yes, it's great to be able to see this eruption in context.
Thank you for showing the wide perspective, makes it much easier to tell the location and scale of the eruption!
I'm glad you find it useful :) This is how I like to see things like this, know where I am :)
Exactly

Only one time in my life that i didn't know where i was on the planet...did not like that...at all !
We're glad the power plant and Blue Lagoon are safe!
Wow yes, this looked bad for a while...
Always a good day when Gylfi posts!
I can see and hear how beautiful Iceland is because of your videos.❤
Happy to hear that ❤ you will like what iv'e got coming in September :) just starting :)

Wonderful choice of music, Gylfi. Thank you again for amazing work.
Noticed those striations many months ago on satellite maps. They look like multiple ocean foam lines left from ocean waves on a beach .
The music went perfectly with the slow pan, and you know how I love those slow pans. 👍
Thank you, Gylfi.
Love the slow pan.
It’s amazing the way you make a video of a threat into a soothing panoramic picture ,thank you so much, beautiful work as usual !
You are so right! I feel that way too. He is a genius in presentation of the life of nature.
Stunning cinematography as ever Gylfi ❤
Much appreciated :)
