I absolutely love my Aldebaran 50 MGL I have used it for flipping and pitching 3/8-1/2oz handles it all day! Got the P5 X-Bites, Madbull, Dark Sleeper, One Ten Stick and the Super Destroyer. Honestly there all as sensitive as any of my NRX+ models.
I decided to order the TS it’s on its way.. decided I’d use it for the heavier stuff. Gonna save some $ and get the x bites for light Texas rigs and jigs.. Thanks for the review and everyone who responded to my questions!!
Thanks for the info.. So what I'm taking away from this is that the TS is probabably best suited for 3/8 - 5/8 oz heavy hook jigs. And I should maybe think about the xbites for light Texas rigging?
Solid work man, you're right about the lack of Intel on certain rods. MegaBass has so many niche model rods it's hard to make s decision without more feedback from guys on the water. I've owned 4 MB rods and sold/traded them all because they are putting EVA foam on 4-500$ rods now. I am now using Phenix Rods and Shimano Exprides in my current lineup. Awesome video!
Megabass certainly does a good job having a lot of options, but it is confusing and there is a lot of carryover. These new p5s are great. I enjoy my expride as well. They are really really surprising and awesome sticks
Good job, I wanted to learn more about the shaft. Got the one ten special and the tequila baccarat and I’m loving the shorter rods with deep bends too. The P5s are a big step up in weight and sensitivity over the us destroyers. Looking forward to your super destroyer review! Thanks keep up the content
I just got my tachy, but haven’t had time to fish it yet. Can’t wait to see how it handles different lures! If it lives up to the lure ratings this thing should be so much fun.
Thank you for the info. That has been the one rod in the line up I have been wanting to get. But to your point Megabass needs to do a better job of getting the info out to us.
Man I love how you detailed you are with describing which weight reel goes well with the rod. Honestly just subscribed. Keep up the amazing work and small details (it goes a long way).

Nice review, but when will you do the Super Destroyer?
Love the review on that rod. As you noted information is hard to come by. Really want to hear how the super destroyer compares. I will keep an eye out for the super destroyer review. I know you fished chatter baits and frogs on the TShaft do you feel that that is a good option for someone who is a bank fisherman majority of the time and can only carry one or two rods. Or do you think they’re super destroyer would be more versatile with chatterbaits swim jigs and others
I think it depends on what baits you fish. Sure, the super destroyer is going to be more versatile even though I haven't used it. That's just because of its taper. I think either will be a really good option. If you get the TS then you certainly have your bottom contact rod covered. I would probably look more to the sd if carrying two rods from the bank. It depends on what your throw the most.
I have been looking at getting one of those, thanks for the review! I already have the x bites, it’s a badass finesse jig rod and t-rig rod. Did you happen to drag some footballs on it? That’s what I was thinking to get it for.
I did drag footballs on it, it is very sensitive. If you're throwing finesse footballs with even a small trailer you're absolutely in the clear. I did pitch 1/4 tungeston on a Tokyo rig but with a yamamoto cowboy mostly. The cowboy is a little heavier than your standard craw. With a good reel I still think 1/4 Oz is great, you just won't be bombing it. At the end of the day this rod isn't for bomb casts anyways. It's incredibly fun hitting pin point stuff and the quick hookset is a blast! I hear the xbites is amazing!
How light of a jig+trailer (total weight) do you think you can throw on this, and same thing with Texas rig. I want to buy this specifically for Texas rig and jigs around docks and cover (skipping). Because I’m worried that it’ll be to heavy to load up on lighter lures. I want to know be able to throw from 5/16-5/8 total weight. Thank you sir and great video.
I'm getting ready to purchase either the tachyon shaft or the super destroyer.. I want to be able to pitch smaller plastic on 1/4 ounce, and pitch jigs from 5/16 to 7/16.. I love shorter rods.. Which one would you suggest? I know your planning on a full review of the SD but I'm wanting to order as soon as possible. Thanks for the video..
I can't comment on the super destroyer yet, I just got it. However, from others and just from bending it, it does have a little more parabolic action. Maybe I'll do a bend test between the two.
I have both and would agree the SD has a slightly slower or more parabolic action. I found the Tachyon Shaft to be more suited to a jig / T-Rig but not sure about going as light as a 1/4oz on either
@@ryanmichael8870 I was looking to give it a go for frogs. That or the Killer Code. Tried the Tequilla Baccarac and I missed to hook so many, that’s going up for sale
Would it work for simple 1 to 3 ounce swimbaits crank and jerks and topwater wp? I have the Madbull and TB , heck I already have 2 Shimano World Shaulas too it's insane..raid Japan, Expride, zodias but love MB
How would this work as a football/bottom contact rod? I was planning to get the x-bites but obviously they are no where to be found. Thought about getting a st croix xtreme but I found this rod and would love to hear your thoughts.
Can you point me in right direction for a 1/4-1/2 Tex rig rod between this and the super destroyer? I don’t need a do all rod, but this tachyon looks amazing!
I just got my SD but haven't had a chance to fish it due to ice. I'd say if distancing casting isn't what you need the tachyon shaft is sure a fun stick to throw Texas rigs on. It's very sensitive.
Between this rod and the Super Destroyer P5 which would you say is the better Jig only rod for around docks, trees, cover etc.. 3/8-5/8 oz jigs? Thanks
I'll work on adding flex to videos. I don't find it to be a pole cue, it's got some bend to it when you pull on them. There was some discussions that said all the p5s had more of a parabolic bend then most usdm rods due to being geared towards the jdm market.

Hook up tackle just dropped new megabass including x bites
Great video. I hope you decide to do some more videos!
Love the idea of doing these reviews on rods that you don’t always see. Good review and keep them coming

@@jeffeefore3782 The TS is the best 3/8oz to 5/8iz jig rod I’ve thrown and I’ve tried them all believe me, NRX, Legend X, Custom and Steez AGS.
Bold statement, I like it!!! 🔥

Megabass confuses me. Lol. I stick with GLoomis and st croix do I don’t regret any decisions, but eventually, I’d love to try one of the MB P5s.
@@BigBass-xf5yi Check out Old18 and Phenix Rods.
I’d rather the eva on a $500 rod so it looks new for 20 years

I mostly fish out of rowboats. My longest rods are 7ft 1inch. Never needed anything longer....
Thanks for the review.
I can't wait for the super destroyer review
If you like Aldebarans check out the Shimano Stile. It’s an aldebaran frame but beefier guts and a bigger handle.
Keep them coming!!!
