First Time In Turkey's Kurdish Southeast
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 19 มิ.ย. 2024
- Today we explored Mardin, a kurdish majority city here in Southeastern Turkey.
We kicked off the day with our first Turkish breakfast in a little local market before buying some of Mardin's iconic blue almonds we found being made fresh in an alleyway.
We then explored the ancient city of Mardin's streets and tried to find an old church, we ended up being pulled into an old lady's house who offered us some delicious Syrian wine and then sold us a bottle!
Next we went for our first tea here in Turkey followed by a delicious fresh falafel wrap.
While walking around we had seen a man carrying a funny looking drink on his back so we tracked him down and bought a glass. I can't say this was my favourite drink to be honest ahah.
We then explored Mardin city a little more, found a tea shop selling famous pigeons and had some super fresh lahmacun.
First day in Turkey's kurdish southeast was fantastic.

Any Kurdish politician is imprisoned and they are prevented from becoming part of decision-making, such as Selahattin Demirtas.... They are prevented from becoming famous (Mam Ararat was banned from singing on stage because he sings in Kurdish), etc..
@@shervanbg5610 Most of our ministers today are of Kurdish origin. Idk why you guys always feel the need to lie about stuff. There are Kurds in almost all politic parties, even in MHP. Most of our bosses are Kurds, our teachers are Kurds. Don't make it sound like it's an ongoing ethnic discrimination countrywide. You know damn well this is all because ''SOME'' Kurds want independence, and those who want independence, involve in actions on behalf of independent ''Kurdistan'', which is STRICTLY against law, the primal laws, first 3 articles. They get jailed. No country around us will tolerate guerillas trying to establish a seperate state... Has HDP/DEM got demonized by AKP politics? Yes. They used ''solution process'' against them. We most will agree he's not a good president, but your mindset is also not serving the Turkish citizens, you're holding a grudge...
@@MIKRASIATISSA Well then why is the Kurdish language banned in Türkiye?
It looks like a strange mix of sketchy but totally safe there - Kurdish people seem very friendly and welcoming from all the vlogs I've seen over the years.

❤Good luck always, my brother. Greetings from Iraq 🇮🇶
The Kurdish cities, with the temples they contain of Kurdish Mithraism, are therefore older than any Turkish, Arab, Persian, Armenian, or Assyrian Semitic presence..... We will remain Aryans, Sumerians, Mitanni, Hurrians until the last day in the history of our people.
❤❤❤❤☀️💚💚💚💚
Bro we should respect Assyrian they are old and respected people. In the area
@@KurdishTH-camKSAS
I respect all peoples, but the facts must be told...
The Sumerians, the ancestors of the Kurds, share language, culture, and even customs and holidays. They are the ancestors of the Kurds, in addition to the Mitanni, Hurrians, and then the Medes. They are all older than any Assyrian, Armenian, Arab, Persian, and Turkish presence in these regions.
@@KurdishTH-camKSAS
If you have some friends of them this does not mean that you should sell your Kurdish cause and history...that is, if you are Kurdish!!
Kurdistan was divided into parts that are now within Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran in the early 20th century, following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire after World War I
Treaty of Lausanne (1923) Replaced the Treaty of Sèvres, established modern Turkey's borders, and abandoned the idea of an independent Kurdistan.
These treaties formalized the division of Kurdish regions among these four countries, but the dream of a free and big Kurdistan lives on. Despite Turkey and other countries' attempts to erase our history, they couldn't and can't succeed. Our culture and identity remain strong! ✌✌
Love our Kurdish brothers n sisters
And it will remain just like a dream.

You are in Turkey, not technically, but actually.
@@mrtozcan50 Look how afraid you are of the Kurds ahahah
@@EllisWR Also, the so-called Kurds who comment on these pages are separatists who sympathize with the baby-murdering terrorist organization PKK.
@@EllisWR That's your ignorance hahaha. We have no problem with Kurds or other races. Our problem is with the separatist Kurds, otherwise the prime minister and president of this country were Kurds. Read the history of the Turks, what kind of a nation we are, and how we protect other victimized nations. Let's take a look at the current state of the Middle East problem, which has survived to this day since the Ottoman Empire withdrew from the Middle East, thanks to the imperialist western states. Let's read a history of the Ottoman Empire, which welcomed Jews, many of whom escaped from the Spanish Inquisition and took refuge in the Ottoman Empire 500 years ago. We are a nation that has lived together in these lands for thousands of years. MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK, the founder of our country, does not mention a single race when talking about Turks. When Turkish is mentioned; "It covers all those who are bound by citizenship, regardless of religion, race, color and gender." The citizenship article in our Constitution defines the citizenship relationship between a person and the Republic of Turkey as a legal bond, abstracting it from the concepts of race, language and religion. The understanding of Turkish citizenship reflects the understanding of nation-state citizenship built on the multinational and multi-religious structure of the Ottoman Empire. Based on this definition, Turkish existence represents cooperation and national identity, and has been the cradle of civilization for thousands of years by blending ethnic and religious differences within the concepts of citizenship. It emphasizes the cultural richness and unity of Anatolia. Western states have been trying to destroy us for about 100-150 years, but they have never succeeded. Otherwise, we do not question anyone's race, language or religion. These lands were peaceful lands until the arrival of Western states. There has been no peace and tranquility in these lands since the imperialist westerners set their sights on these lands. Of course, the so-called Kurdish nationalists who comment on your TH-cam page do not know anything about this issue. Also, the so-called Kurds who comment on these pages are separatists who sympathize with the baby-murdering terrorist organization PKK.
@@EllisWR Why are you so hating the Turks ? Did you see any soldier or police inner cities. I can assure you you have more soldiers and cops on London streets because i have been there. If Turkey is opprressor UK is double of it. You are becoming a propagandist not a traveller.
