Amazing production and recipes. I love that you take the time to explain the little details and techniques that make your life easier in the kitchen and help to enhance flavors in your food. Just with a bit more content, I'm sure this channel will blow up, until then - thanks for another great recipe.
This looks so good that I'm going to make it this weekend! One little touch that I LOVE about your videos I've seen so far is that you pay attention to things like doing it in an order where you don't have to clean things in-between or use extra bowls/measuring cups. Some other cooking shows seem to think we want to be spending 2 hours doing the dishes after dinner but those little details make your videos so much more down to earth and relatable.
I am so happy that you've made a TH-cam channel. I am a huge fan of Destination Flavor Japan and I am so happy that you are spreading knowledge of Japan's culture through food! Looking forward to what's in store for you and for this channel. Best of luck!
This looks so appetizing. Rarely do I watch food videos and immediately want to go out and pick up the ingredients to make as my very next meal, but that's what this video does for me. I love, love, love Japanese cuisine, and now I have something else in that category to try.
Made this tonight. Delicious! My wife was really impressed. Thanks for the tip about "Naturally brewed" soya sauce. I replaced my "concoctions" with the real thing. What a difference! You rock. man!
Hello Adam, I made this dish last night for the first time and it was soooo good! The recipe is very easy to follow and is almost fail proof. Thank you for your recipes and please continue to make simple and good recipes! :)
in japan bought this little glazed small plate with ginger grater built into it, i.e. they fashioned the clay into a grater and plate combined. washes up easily, unlike metal micro-planes
Right when Adam peels ginger using a teaspoon instead of other top chefs who just shaves the skin using a knife, you already know how great Adam will be in his future after winning MC.
Came for the pork, stayed for the ginger. That spoon technique is genius! Thank you. Although i would add some spicyness like chillies, is this allowed?
Adam this looks great, I was just deciding what to do with our pork belly for dinner tonight, sick of the usual routine, when the alert popped up and here you are- simple, easy to follow and looks so good, many thanks
This might sound silly, but I don't think I've ever seen such white ginger. Whenever I buy it the flesh is always yellowish. Also, thank you for showing me so many uses for pork belly. Whenever I specifically search how to use it I always find similar recipes.
Great vid, I've tried making Shogayaki recently on my YT channel. I'm completely new to Japanese cooking - so not as good as yours, but you've gotta start somewhere. It is super easy - and my kids loved it.
He buys it. Looks like a Kewpie mayo bottle. The only real difference between Japanese mayo and the mayo you know is Japanese mayo has MSG in it. MSG is in no way harmful of bad for you, its just pseudoscience and bad interpretation, in addition to popular misconception, that people think its bad.
@@CaseNumber00 A lot of regular mayo also has msg, so that's not it. The main difference is that japanese mayo is made with egg yolks instead of whole eggs and the distilled vinegar is replaced by rice vinegar.
Certainly one of the best cooking channels I have come across, very simple and easy to follow. Subscribing to you is a no brainer for me, keep up the good work! :)
I wonder. Would it be ok to do this with chashu and use the chashu braising liquid instead of the teriyaki? Because I feel it's a shame that the only recipes I can find that use the chashu are for ramen.
Hi adam, i recognize you from the famous cuisines channel and love your work there. I want to watch these videos but i cant get past the music in the background, it drives me a bit nuts. Please consider cutting the music from behind you in the body of your videos!
Adam Liaw and Marion's Kitchen have become my favorite food channels.
Mine also!!
Same. I also like Maangchi for Korean dishes.
Adam is on another level
You should also check out Aaron and Clair!

in japan bought this little glazed small plate with ginger grater built into it, i.e. they fashioned the clay into a grater and plate combined. washes up easily, unlike metal micro-planes
That is the most pork I've seen for one family meal, but you made everything so simple. I definitely need to make this when I have siblings over.
Nice version of the Pork Ginger recipe - Mahalo! 😊🤙🏼
Nice. I'm making this.
Right when Adam peels ginger using a teaspoon instead of other top chefs who just shaves the skin using a knife, you already know how great Adam will be in his future after winning MC.
When he did the spoon trick, I immediately hit the subscribe button...
I'm going to make that RIGHT NOW!!!!
Came for the pork, stayed for the ginger. That spoon technique is genius! Thank you.

Nice Panerai! The dish obviously looks amazing too!
Sounds delicious think I'll have to try this
I would love to know more about that Japanese mayo! Do you make it yourself, or buy the "real deal"?

Wow, I'm stunned!
AP and now Panerai? You sure know your stuffs ;) Would love to see your collection
This is a cooking show. Stop obsessing over his watches.
Divine😃👍
that's ausom Adam. thanks
good
Good content. could've been completed under 4.
Makima San🤤
That looks fantastic. Is it typically served with steamed rice, and, if so, a Japanese style medium grain rice or a long grain rice? Thanks
Yes, it's usually served with rice (and often pickles and soup, too). Japanese short (or medium) grain rice is definitely the preferred option.
Certainly one of the best cooking channels I have come across, very simple and easy to follow. Subscribing to you is a no brainer for me, keep up the good work! :)
Not sure if at Tong Li...or I'm just imagining that shop's layout.
FREAKING LOVE YOU VIDEOS ADAM. I WILL DEFINITELY COOK THIS FOR MY GF. ALSO SUBSCRIBING AND WILL BE WAITING FOR YOUR NEXT VID!!!! ALL THE BEST, MAN!
What is the name of the song?
can I use the same recipe with chicken?
cool watch!
What kind of board do you use?
Thank you sir :)
I wonder. Would it be ok to do this with chashu and use the chashu braising liquid instead of the teriyaki? Because I feel it's a shame that the only recipes I can find that use the chashu are for ramen.
Adam....please come to Jakarta and let's do West Sumatera food adventure
Is it necessary to remove the ginger skin?
How to prevent the pork from getting hard or rubbery?
Great! No salt tho?
I do that too! Cut the vegetables first, cuz if you cut the meat you have to wash the board.
白飯にすごく合いそう。無茶苦茶、腹減った。
Where can I find this recipe written down
Hi adam, i recognize you from the famous cuisines channel and love your work there. I want to watch these videos but i cant get past the music in the background, it drives me a bit nuts. Please consider cutting the music from behind you in the body of your videos!
