I love this type of teaching! I believe the church should be like the most elite college/university. We should be required to come with paper & pen. When you leave church, you should feel like you've been in class vs entertained. I've been in church all of my life & and didn't get the deepness that i needed. I remember at 17 calling a well-known local pastor and asking him why in Genesis does it say God created the heavens & earth..... why is heaven plural? He said , "You're making too much of it. Just stick to the 10 commandments, and you will be fine." That never set right with me. If we don't know the answer, there is honor in just saying so! ~SSS
Is there a specific link to go to for his verse by verse Bible studies? I can't seem to narrow that specific Wednesday night Bible study group down. I want to get to the verse by verse. Thanks ahead of time.
Trial... I would be quite surprised if any of us would consider a trial to come from a bad God. What is far more likely is that we can consider trials to be punishment - I suppose most people/pastors/teachers prefer to use the word "chastise" - so, we can also consider it a joy that we are chastised (going through a trial or suffering) - because that is also an evidence of God's love for us.
6:20 This account of James’ martyrdom sounds suspiciously like one of the temptations of Jesus. I wonder if the method of execution was selected for this reason.
If James is writing to Jews who've left Jerusalem to seek shelter from the persecution by their fellow citizens then the trials James is speaking of related to their experiences so far not necessarily what trials are ahead Secondly, if James is addressing Christian Jews primarily then the loss of income, or their family or their business or health because of persecutions by the temple worshipping Jews IS reason to be celebratory because that was the command of jesus on the sermon on the mount- rejoice! And be glad for great is your reward in heaven. Third point : James is not a half brother. James is a brother of Jesus but not by blood, he's a cousin or kin . The Hebrew doesn't have words for cousin. Everyone in your tribe , Judah for Jesus is your adelphoi, brother or by faith, everyone is is a believer us your brother as the opening verses in James points out, he's talking to his Brothers" not literal brothers but brothers in the faith. I'm 18:00 in and I'm not sure if there's a reason to listen to anymore of this. He's so wide of the mark it's painful to listen to his misunderstanding
@@jamesfarrauto8164 I'm sorry, I don't do dates. The Bible never tasks anyone, believer or unbeliever, to coordinate the Biblical timeline with the historical timeline. And it is a major distraction to do so. Whatever 'year' James was written during, the Resurrection hadn't happened yet.Whatever chronological year the Crucifixion and Resurrection happened during, it was after the writing and sending of the Epistle of James. Please don't be distracted from the fact that James has zero knowledge of or understanding of the thing that makes a relationship with God possible, because "spoiler alert"' it hadn't happened yet.

Ever read Isaiah 45:7? You have to wonder whether its punishment or not.

I believe he knew his death was "pending" and wrote accordingly perhaps. Just thoughts

The New Testament Epistle of James was written before the Crucifixion.
You possibly could be the only person in the world who believes that.
@@bwanadave76 I believe it, because the New Testament demands it.

What year did Christ die? When was James written?
