I am Catholic and I really enjoyed this. As a former Jehovah’s Witness I studied this particular chapter in Hebrews so beneficial in refuting the JW belief that I heard growing up- that Jesus is Michael the Archangel. I love how this very first chapter has so many references to God in the Old Testament that are attributed to our Lord.
I look forward to the rest of the study.

This couldn’t be further from the Truth. Leviticus 16:31, it is a permanent Statue / Law Forever. Isaiah 56 says Foreigners that join themselves to the Lord must Obey the Sabbath day. “7th Day” Aka Saturday
When were days assigned Sunday, Monday and so on. Why are some calendars starting with Monday and others Sunday? God created 6 days and rested on the 7th so do we start with day one being the day of our birth? or the day in inception? I personally don't think any of that matters, what matters is the principal/spirit of the command. Jesus never sinned yet there were laws to not (insert restriction) on the sabbath yet Jesus healed and "worked" on the Sabbath. By your logic, you are claiming Jesus did not uphold the law therefore sinned??? The law shows us how evil, flaw and broken we are and Jesus came to fulfill and replace the law. Jesus is GREATER than the law. The law has no grace - Jesus is grace.

Yes Jesus is the Son of God. But he is also God as John1:1 says. He is eternal with the father and is begotten of the father. He is the Exact imprint of his nature and upholds the universe by the word of his power.
Yes Jesus is superior to the Angels and truly we must not settle for the less...... However, I have a question. You said Jesus is equal with God the father and you also said he is seated at the right hand side of the majesty in heaven. Now, if He's same person why is he not the majesty alone, why are they now two beings?
The Son isn’t the Father. They are two different persons sharing the same being as God.
God is our triune God, three in one, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We can't comprehend how this is true but we believe that it is true because this is what the Scriptures clearly teach. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three persons and one Godhead. It is a mystery to us but truth given to us by God in his Holy word.
I think it is likely to be apostle John who died in 99 AD. If Hebrews was written before 70 AD, then John would be writing this at his ripe old age. John is the only one who focused on the divinity of Christ in his writings. Hebrew is no different.
I am trying to figure out the advantage of you pointing out what *certain faiths* believe.. even if they are wrong? I did your Samuel Bible study & you specifically spoke negatively about something we Catholics believe.. why do you find it necessary to speak about other faiths at all... whether their right or wrong?
I think the point here is conviction not condemnation. "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" We should (I personally) take the Bible as a standard to live by.

Some say the sons of God in Genesis are fallen angels. I disagree. The sons of God came down. It does not say from heaven where God is. No one really knows when the angels fell but surely if they were angels the bible would call them angels and not sons of God. A guy told me they were spirit beings but how can spirits make women pregnant. I think they were solid and maybe from another planet.
I wonder how the angels "bare us up in their hands lest we dash our feet against stones?" if they are only spirit.

@@denisespencer8000 yes, they are "transdimensional" meaning they can defy the laws of physics. Our resurrected Saviour, Jesus was too when He appeared in the locked up house where the disciples were hiding. You may recall He ate and had them feel His flesh and bone and touch His scars. Lucifer was a glorious angel before he rebelled and was cast out of heaven with a third of the angels. They are all fallen angels. You may recall in Job that the sons of God came before the Lord and Satan was among them - a fallen angel!

"God" is a title not His name. Our God in the name of "I AM"; YHWH; El Shaddai, Jehovah Nissi/ Rapha/ Shalom/ Jireh (to name a few); and also in the form of a man: Yeshua (also known as Jesus). Jesus said the Father and I are one. (John 10). Our God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit is so great that our human minds can not comprehend all that He is.
Yea Jesus is the son of God. John 1:1 Col 1:15 John 17 all say he was eternal with the father and was before all creation and was created by and through him . They share the same being as God, he is the exact imprint of his nature and upholds the universe by the word of his power. A created being could not do that.
