At least MOPs are breaking through the bat stereotyping and seeking help for them. Thankfully Meg continues to educate. And give care to the end. I often say I hope when my time comes I am warm, fed and not alone.
If a giant colourful person wraps you up, saying lovely kind things, and fills your mouth with glucose…you will know you are a Flying-Fox in trouble, and you will get the very best that can be done. Not being alone and vulnerable at the end is a huge gift.🖤🇨🇦
That poor MOP really wanted Donatella to survive. 😢 I’m liking the recent MOPs. They seem to care more about the bats than getting the bats out of their spaces. I’m sorry about Luna, too. Thank you, Meg. 💙🤍
The girls didn't die alone. Even Luna probably felt you there with her drifting away knowing she was safe. It's so difficult to see bats in this condition, but you made their passing not so scary, Meg.
Poor girls, Donatello must have felt so vulnerable being unable to use her feet. They were very nice MOPs, but the facts are real, even when you don’t want to believe them. A peaceful death away from dangers she couldn’t escape is better than a slow painful wait.🌹. Luna really went through an awful trauma. Poor dear barely knew she was alive, I’m glad her pain and shock were soon ended.🌹. Sorry it was a tough day Meg. I hope you are doing better. Luna looked like an old girl, but her circumstance may have added years to her appearance.💖🖤🇨🇦
Thankyou Meg for doing what you do to humanely deal with the unfortunate outcomes. I never know what to say when I watch these as it is sad. Rip beautiful girls 🦇🦇
Thanks for giving these beautiful creatures respect and love , even when you know the outcome is not good. You truly have a halo Meg! RIP: Donatella and Luna. Your lives mattered. 😇❤️🖤🦇🖤❤️ Just a post script: the hedgehog rescue bracelet has sold...I'll send you the link for the earrings for when you feel well enough to share it!❤
The MOPs were so sure that calling Meg rescue would make everything alright for the batties. But they were both well tended to. Sometimes, that is all there is. Keep Megabattie in your phones MOPs, you did the right thing.
The madam means well, but I'm not sure it entirely clicked why paralysis would be a death sentence to a bat. Bless. Thank you for taking care of the bats in their final moments.
@@tracyjacoby2382, They meant the MOP who was so hopeful that Donatella would survive. Her husband got it, but she was still hoping, going through her videos of Donatella climbing. 😢
I owe you a HUGE apology! You were commenting very sweetly, regarding the lovely MOP who didn't want to believe, paralysis would be a death sentence for the Bat. You were not questioning Meg's assessment, that was my mistake!🥺💕💕
@@tracyjacoby2382 💙 I know you thought you were defending Meg. My post was nearly the same, but I put “MOP” instead of “madame”. That’s how I knew what they meant. I was thinking it while the MOP was trying to show Meg the videos of Donatella climbing.
Meg I am so very sorry about Donatella and Luna!!🦇🦇😓💔💔 Both precious ladies were noticed by caring MOP's who called for rescues, restoring my faith in humans.💕💕 Please take care of yourself Meg.💕💕
I wished there were equipment to fix the dmg.. One day Meg you can tell them that the bat will survive in the new wheel chair planes.. Gotta stay hopeful...
Just donated through the PayPal Giving Fund and wrote Jenny a note (with receipt) as Meg requested. PayPal does not supply a message box. I encourage all flying fox lovers who have some spare cash to donate. I know that not everyone has that luxury.
😢First MOP was so touching! It sounded like she didn't want to accept Donatella couldn't be helped. Poor Luna was beyond anything anyone could do. Doubly sad she may have been pregnant. Thank you for all you do.
But I actually wish the MOPs wouldn't feed or attempt to feed the bats; the whole MOP/bat interaction is fraught with potential disaster, and if the bat isn't well, the last thing they need is food; I'd rather the MOP called immediately.
Meg. Is your ringtone the cockatoo"s singing 'earth wimd and fire"? I saw it on youtube. It eas cute. Anyway, at least these two die alone and scated. Such a shame the second one was pregnant 😢 thank you Meg ❤❤❤
I joined a wildlife rescue group and did a basic rescue course, then a specialist bat rescue and care course and even though I joined to care for parrots (I love parrots) and parrot chicks in the season, I accidentally fell in love with the idea of bats during the first rescue course, and thence did the specialist bat course, and somehow I have never actually managed to care for parrots or parrot chicks in Spring baby season. I don't regret it at all. A total accident and somehow 17 years later it has become my life.
Sometimes it's hard to explain to MOPs why they can't be released and just have them hang around in the trees near someone's place so they can support feed them. If they can't fly, they can't escape predators
Beautiful unfortunate girls, but safely, compassionately helped as needed. Thank you, Meg. ❤🦇🇨🇦

All MOPs are different; variety is good and gives me different rescue scenarios.

Thanks. I put them up because I want acknowledge the bat and their life and individuality, and tell their story.
Bad ending for these gorgeous girl!! I' m so sorry. RIP good girls your lives were so short!!
RIP girls! I like that the MOPs cared about Donatella and her outcome.
Me too, I love when the MOPS really care and are interested in the wellbeing of the bat.
Thank you Meg for having the courage to send them off lovingly ❤🍁🦇🇨🇦
That was very well said, Marion
Thanks Marion.
Rest in pace Donatello and Luna. Thank you for doing your best Meg, but I am sorry these two weren’t survivors 😢
Even though she was gravely injured you still show them caring and concern and treat them as needed rip sweet little one ❤️🦇
Meg treats all the batties with respect and she does her best for all of them. The bats are so lucky to have her 😊

Yeah. Not all ends are happy, but at least these bats had a gentler ending than they would have otherwise.

Greetings from bodrum in turkiye, this old bat is recharging on the sunshine here. And the freshest food.
Sounds like a nice way to spend the day - in the sun, recharging.
Meg, your work is as tough as it is valuable. Thank you. ❤❤❤

Better yet, maybe they'll find a cure for spinal cord injuries in both humans and other animals.

The ringtone is the CampTown Races. My bird went on a holiday and came back having learned to whistle this from another bird.
