One last comment. We got rid of a ton of stuff - furniture, lawn mowers, appliances, clothes. Etc. The relo company will move everything, but it greatly adds to the storage and moving cost, so we got rid of a lot. Now that we are here, we find that many items are hard to buy. It is a 9 month wait for a wolf stove, oven, etc. To get a Lynx gas grill is almost a year. The list goes on and on. I feel that I should have moved my items, as now I have to buy what-ever I can get.

We are relocating. The employer only provides 30 days of temporary housing and and storage of house hold items. After the 30 days, they will usually extend the services but the employee pays out of pocket. For us, the corp relo apartment was $8,200 / month, and the storage of my household items was an additional $5,000 a month. Thus, $13,000 a month for each month that we delay buying and moving into a home. We can not put a new house under contract until we pass the due diligence provisions on the house that we are selling. So the relo process is set-up to make it stressful and hard on the relo'd family.

Before we bought, we looked at over 60 homes over 5 days. So many homes were no-go because of 1) Mold from improper drainage. 2) a wet or damp basement that made the whole house smell. 3) pet odors, or farm animal odors because they raised goats, pets, or chickens inside the house. 4) roof leaks in rooms that were never photgraphed. 5) floors that were so heavily soil and scrathced that they needed to be completely replaced.

Mold is a big fear of mine. Spent hundreds of thousands leveling our last house to deal with mold in several spots behind the walls. My health is still damaged.

We are moving to John's Creek to rent for a year and using that time to look for the best place to buy. We haven't been able to meet with Ashley yet, but we hope to soon!
