Happy I found your video. Was looking for tips on cinematic photography, which were great, but also got a warm and relaxing voice to listen to. Definitely looking into the rest of your channel!
Best video that explained being cinematic I've watched so far. Thanks for sharing. Can you also make one to share how to create a relatively high key cinematic photo? I've watched a lot videos, but all of them are about moody, low key cinematic lighting. I'm not sure what a high key cinematic photo should look like, but probably shouldn't be the same as the traditional high key photo.
This is so helpful considering I want to become unit still photographer and could not figure out how exactly they made that cinematic look. Thank you for your commentary it really helped!
@@j.r.j.8499 Thanks for clarifying. You can fine tune colors if you'd like. But for the most part, I adjust colors using the White Balance & Tint w/ desaturation as shown in the video.
Thanks Shu. I shot it just after the sun had set so the lighting is soft and low contrast. When you have direct harsh sunlight it’ll be harder to get this look. So look for softer lighting situations (cloudy, shade, pre dawn, post sunset etc)
Usually Classic Chrome, but I edit in Lr and sometimes it defaults to Adobe on import. Usually just tweak the colors til I’m happy so it doesn’t matter so much what base profile I use.
I print my best work. I have not had much success with dark and moody in print. I feel that the cinematic look is fine for the web but not for print. Is it just me?
Man!!! That was the answer I was looking for!!! So many so complicated videos but the answer was so simple! Thanks!!!

Geat video. Thanks for your tips. However, I was kind of missing adjustments in colours. Is it necessary? Best regards.
What do you mean by missing adjustments in colours?
@@andrewhkim Is is necessary to make adjustments on the HSL panel? Is there any tone/colour more suitable for a film look? Thanks in advance

thank you for the awesome video. one thing i am curious is why does your original photo looked cinematic already? camera setting?
Thanks Shu. I shot it just after the sun had set so the lighting is soft and low contrast. When you have direct harsh sunlight it’ll be harder to get this look. So look for softer lighting situations (cloudy, shade, pre dawn, post sunset etc)
@@andrewhkim gotcha! Thank again. Keep posting videos brother, love them.

Thanks for sharing, what camera do you use?
these were shot on the X100F
Which colour profile did you use?

👍 Do you use a Pro Mist filter when you shoot with the intention of editing with a cinematic vibe?
Haven't even heard of the Pro Mist filter til you mentioned it. I'd be curious to test it out. TIFFEN, WHERE YOU AT?? 😀
Hey.. Where did you get your glasses? They look really good on you haha
haha, thanks! Persol 3168v is the model

I haven’t printed this style yet. I’d imagine it’ll take some trial and error to get a good result. Perhaps a future video idea 🤔
