LOST CAUSE
Your sorry eyes,
they cut through the bone
They make it hard
to leave you alone
Leave you here
wearing your wounds
Waving your guns
at somebody new
'Cause baby you're lost,
baby you're lost
Baby you're a lost cause
There's too many people
you used to know
They see you coming,
they see you go
They know your secrets
and you know theirs
This town is crazy,
nobody cares
'Cause baby you're lost
Baby you're lost
Baby you're a lost cause
There's a place where you are goin'
You ain't never been before
No one laughin' at your back now
No one standin' at your door
That's what you thought love was for
'Cause baby you're lost
Baby you're lost
Baby you're a lost cause
I'm tired of fighting,
tired of fighting
Fighting for a lost cause
LONESOME TEARS
Lonesome tears
I can't cry them anymore
I can't think of what they're for
They ruin me every time
But I'll try
And leave behind some days
These tears just can't erase
I don't use them anymore
How could this love, ever-turning,
never turn its eye on me?
How could this love, ever-changing,
never change the way I feel?
Lazy sun
Your eyes catch the light
With promises that might
Come true for awhile
Oh I'll ride
farther than I should,
harder than I could
Just to meet you there
How could this love, ever-turning,
never turn its eye on me?
How could this love, ever-changing,
never change the way I feel?

70th comment. Great song. Great artist. 2024 still rockin it.
This is Beck in top form. Absolutely flawless rendition of "Lost Cause", might even be better than the album version.
I listen to this song whenever I need a reminder not to get into a bad relationship
For real. I’ve been single for 10 years and it sucks, but a few tempting opportunities have come along in that time that I think I made the right call in walking away from. It’s not easy being lonely, but it’s better than being stuck in a bad relationship that makes you feel more alone than actually being by yourself
He's a bloody genius is our Beck. This IS songwriting. My fave album from him too.
Lost cause is such a perfect song. It's not even that fancy but that finger picking on those chords and that melody and the Little bits of lead guitar are just the perfect combination. I'm so glad I know this song
SEA CHANGE is not for the faint of heart. It's safe to state that most everyone has suffered profound emotional loss at points along the way and this album can serve as a "users manual" on how to navigate oneself through the gauntlet of sorrow and, hopefully, realize some sort of method of dealing with the scars. Perhaps, one day, even reconciling what happened and leaving it all ..."by the side of the road."
The thing about Beck is that he invents music. Yeah, he's done covers and done the artist justice, but his music is his own, original, sorrowful, funky fresh, thoughtful and a bunch of other adjectives.
certainly beck at his best
the melodies are so haunting and melancholy
he is amazing
Beautiful.Thank you. My cat died 2 days ago, random but this helps. Bloody animals, they break your heart. Thanks Beck, you're alright 👏🙏
Beck has a way of touching your soul with his music and his songs are timeless.
A brilliant break up recording
sometimes a writer comes along who songs can seemingly freeze time or be fixed in the memory of the period listening to his music. Becks music is timeless in that regard. Only the best can do.
this is seriously the most crushing thing ive ever listened to
Sea Change has the best transitions, most haunting, melodic and satisfyingly sorrowful melodies.
I love. Beck voice. Beautiful person.
Thats next level songwriting combined with similarly next level guitar n piano accompaniment.
hit as soon as u hear the first chord
Beck never lost music cause.
Overwhelming serenity is what these songs bring.
This is a unique treasure of an upload. Thanks. Old man here, just trying to emote some in my old age.. Love ya, Beck 💜
Showed me up on the corner of Washington and 4th Olympia Wa, 1994..... Love ya Bo Bo
wish I had been there, used to live in oly
❤️ Thank you! ❤️ Beautiful! ❤️ Beck! ❤️
Sea Change always sounded to me like songs written by a western artist from the late fifties early sixties. The style is very similar to Nick Drake. (Riverman) And a vocal style like an old time cowboy crooner. It was a classic album the day it was released.
So right about nick drake, some parts of sea change seems like they were straight lifted from riverman in particular
Musical genius.....
I can so relate to this song...I was never a huge Beck fan but it's obvious the guy is so talented.
No better song writer than Beck
A Modern Master
Great artist great singer and musician ❤
I could listen to this song over and over... As a matter a fact I'm doing it right now
Te amo Beck!

Poignant way of putting it... well said.
Today my last friend went away . 2 behind bars and 3 dead . Im the only one left it feels, well me and my wife . But i think she feels that I am the Lost Cause. Poor womans been through hell with me .
Keep it up man, hope you're doing well!
I pray you are doing well my friend.
Lost cause hits way too close to home but I love it.
Them ninjas cutting them onions…brutal

xxx
Players Club balls deep ❤️ you Kendra
rare
Amazingly you actually got the "laughin' at your back" line right which I've never seen before in 15 years though it's so obviously and clearly what Beck sings, but you still made the usual mistake at the end of that verse when the actual lyric is a question not a statement .. Beck sings "Ain't that what you thought love was for?" The "Ain't" is almost inaudible but it's there, and changes the meaning as the key line of this great song.
The "ain"t" is plain as day to me but it wouldn't change the meaning whatsoever. Its a rhetorical question. Apart from style, theres zero difference between "that's what you thought love was for" and "aint that what you thought lovr was for"
And I'm replying to a 4 yr old comment 😆😅😂🤣😭💀
@@williamburgis3207that's okay. I hear ya 😁
Gone to soon.
Im the lost cause
vicky mcdonald I'm standing right next to you.....😞
Ya , well you’re not alone ...
Vicky and 2 commenters, I hope great things have happened to all of you and you no longer think of yourselves as lost causes! I'm feeling like a lost cause after recently losing my mother to a 10 month brutal fight with cancer and my wife to an highly preventible accident within two months. Grief is pure hell. I was an ignorant fool for not loving my life more when I had the chance.
One step higher?
Sam’s this hill
Sals bury hill
Hes kinda like a white PRINCE
Beck is God
No God is God and Beck is a Musician. A very great musician however!
He's isn't god but he's a fantastic singer song writer
