Great car, bought our 1.7 new 2001 and still going strong in A1 condition that a joy and a genuine small car unlike todays mammoth breeze blocks. The Mini that is so silly big it should be called the Maxi!
What a terrible marketing video. I suppose Ford was trying to inspire with a futuristic theme and over the top imagery. But that EDM soundtrack and alien cast was just too much. I can't see this video waking much of the sales staff...Keep up with the great videos ROVR!
from marketing perspective this is an ideal ad. because this is a crap cheap car and your audience is young poor people and being young in 90s = being that person who listen to EDM also don't forget that in 90s all such videos has been aired on TV channels, not on youtube as i understand this was done for some MTV so it's purely in their 90s style.
I presume that this promo video was meant for dealerships and motor shows to have as background entertainment or something. Still, it's incredibly wanky, putting some image and lifestyle above the product. You hardly get a good, long view of the car at all, just wanky flashing images. *"Puma is the embodiment of style and technology"* ... and sod all rust prevention.
Great car to drive, shame they forgot to galvanise the body panels and body structure. Using the super weak IB5 gearbox was also not the best of moves....
Too bad Ford never sold the Ford Puma in the U.S. Oh wait, they did sell the Ford Puma in the U.S. as the eighth generation (1999-2002) Mercury Cougar.
The 8th generation Mercury Cougar is actually a different bigger car with a bigger engine, that was actually sold alongside the Puma in the UK as simply the Cougar.
The beginning of the gay hipster period of British advertising, where your boyfriend got more airtime than the product you were supposed to selling. Just absolutely awful.
Great car, loved my puma. This video actually makes me miss it seeing the shape again. Still looks modern

Love the Puma!
Good looking contemporary car. In the recent century cars were cars.
This is the most bonkers thing I've ever seen 😂
It sure is one of the most 90s things I've seen so far :D

@@zrx2779 This is a dealership video.
Great video! Also does anyone have an idea how hard is to swap a 1.7 zetec into a mk4 escort
@Rich I'm just asking, thinking about getting into fords.
@Rich disability discrimination will not be tolerated.
14/6 22 Forgetable - wishing for less unlike the McQueen/Mustang Bulliet ad.
In short.. a curvy fiesta
Ford Puma: only apply here if you're a hip and try young dude or woman!
So dramatic!
