    Hello. Am I able to do this method (crash bar off) with the ac lines connected? Can i move the compressor and condenser out the way? I cant drain the system as undriveable.

      There is usually enough flex on the rubber part of the lines to let it drop below the engine or to the side but i cant say for certain because mine did not have a/c

    Will be going through this shortly as my oil pump went randomly and seized the engine. She will love to see another day. What did u pay for engine if you don’t mind me asking I’ve seen a few about but all different prices…

      Keeping in mind if did this years ago and before Covid when things were cheaper I payed 449 gbp for my engine which came completely with injectors and turbo

      @@maxautouk prices are looking about right then. Any issues with coding or lights when you fitted? My only concern is having something appear and not the equipment to sort

      I ordered mine by the exact engine code so I didn’t have any problems with comparability

    Hi mate I am now in the same situation you was in when you swapped engines over did you fit the old diesel pump and injectors or did you have to code them thanks Aarron

      I fitted a new pump and injectors and did not have to code them
      Those injectors have a procedure to fit and set correctly too just so you know

    Hi, how long does it take to fit? I have a 2008 bluemotion oil pump failed garage want £300 to fit another engine

    Recently my polo has had thick white smoke coming out the exhaust and its making a awful knocking when accelerating. I actually kept the whole engine from my last polo which is the same make and model. Do you reckon its worth just chucking that old one into my new one rather than trying to fix it. It has been sat away for over a year but has no problems.

      Hard to say without seeing it myself in person but if a good engine has been sat for a year or even more it will be fine to fit, what I would say is that it's an ideal time to check it turns over freely and do a cambelt prior to fitting it

      why must you do the cambelt? if i buy mine from a spares garage, would i still have to do the belt?@@maxautouk

    Hie Max Attack, I have a 9N3 with a 1.4L BKY engine belt driven and 4 speed auto gearbox, is it possible to drop in a 1.6L BTS engine chain driven and its associated auto gearbox without alterations

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, I suspect it would not be plug and play because the automatic system uses different sensors and a different ecu

    • @tafungwagee1916
      @tafungwagee1916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxautouk According to the workshop manuals for BKY and BTS engine, it seems they share the same ECU which with identification code J623 and physical appearance they look the same. Also according to the workshop manuals for 4 speed Automatic gearbox 001 fitted to BKY and 6 speed Automatic gearbox 09G, it seems they share the same transmission ECU which with identification code J217 but their physical appearance look different, so I might buy transmission ECU in case the wiring harness will be different.

      The ecu will be programmed to a trim code for a manual car thay does not have a neutral safety switch, nor does it have a shift selector safety switch on the brake pedal so there would be some things you would have to change but I'm sure it's possible
