Well amidst the negative comments, nice job on the build. Sadly others do not understand gradeschool physics of a flywheels usage. A mass will absorb and excrete energy. This build makes perfect sense from a physics standpoint. The only way it has caused a negative, would be once all stored energy is depleted, you have to restore the energy while trying to continue movement.

Seems you missed the point where the 40 pound flywheel adds to the over all mass of trying to climb hills and the high turning friction bearing blocks and poorly geared power input for the flywheel does very little in conserving what little power the flywheel would actually have saved while pedaling. The negative comments are warranted because this is a hack job. It would have been much more useful without the modifications. I would have added a China Girl bicycle kit engine, it would have least saved a lot of pedaling effort. This makes the pedaling effort harder for no net gain in efficiency. Poor design.

В молодости мы уменьшали вес маховиков автомобилей на токарном станке, почти в 2 раза. Двигатель работал веселее, но при этом мы увеличивали объем с 1500 до 2000. И это была уже другая машина, обороты набирались в 2 раза быстрее. Мне больше нравилось с лёгким маховиком. 20 лет назад облегчить снятый маховик стоило бутылку водки. Сейчас ящик водки, при этом сама водка за 20 лет подорожала в 4 раза.

Согласен. Мотор-колесо вместо маховика, и аккумулятор литиевый, с горки торможение рекуперацией, в горку можно нажать кнопочку газа, вот это будет рациональнее.

What exactly does the flywheel do in your design? You've just added an unnecessary element and made the bike-cart heavier. If the flywheel was spun up to a speed that made it's stored power useful, the entire quad bike now is ruined and will be harder to pedal and steer.

При такой схеме соединения промежуточная передача на маховик лишняя. Можно сразу было маховик соединять через цепь с кареткой.
