We were obsessed with the Brady bunch in the 80’s and they stopped filming in 1974. I never realized growing up that the show was over before I was even born!!!
This is so great! What's ironic is how Christopher Daniel Barnes would later play Greg Brady in "The Brady Bunch Movie". It's wonderful to see many of the late "Brady Bunch" cast members in this episode. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.
I remember watching this episode when it was new. What a hoot! Thanks for uploading. I wonder why the real Cindy Brady was not included in the boxes during the theme song. Susan Olsen wouldn't give permission?
this was training for him playing Greg Brady in 2 brady bunch movies ,Christopher Daniel Barnes good job the Real Cast of the Brady Bunch showing him the Ropes ,the best teachers!
About two years previous, ALF had an episode with a similar plotline. Alf developed a similar unhealthy obsession with Sherwood Schwartz's other sitcom, "Gilligan's Island", much to the dismay of the Tanners, and was then punished for taking said obsession too far. He then had a dream about Gilligan's Island, which taught him that life there wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
And originally it was Peter who was sparring with Alice after Buddy Hinton gave him a black eye! And this was after when Mike and Carol tried to talk to Buddy's parents which didn't do any good. It also proved why Buddy was a bully to begin with!
I used to watch A LOT of sitcoms, cartoons, action shows, etc., in the 80s and into the early 90s. I absolutely don't remember this show back then whatsoever. Pretty silly/corny, but that's exactly how the shows were like in the 80s. I found this funnier than a lot of other sitcoms.
@@bethmc95 What I found even weirder was that the the footage of her image was kind of fuzzy and the lighting didn't match the others whereas they put more effort into Chuck's image so it looked consistent to the others.
The series made not have lasted but this episode wAs good they took all the Brady jokes about themselves and put them in. They just had the Brady xmas 1988 then this then the resurgence of the Bradys series 1990. Even Bob seems to be enjoying this in way poking fun at themselves.
also its so bizarre the show stops 2 times to sing the theme to the brady bunch. so crazy the show foreshadowed his role in the 2 brady movies. it was only 6 years later. he was only 15 during this show!
@@Daehawk whoops your right, I may have heard him at a con saying he was 15 maybe he miss remembered. or the show was in production when he attached to the show. but yes he is 17 in 1989.

Just curious...Why was that not Susan Olsen in that square? Everyone else appeared ( even if Eve Plumb [Jan] and Barry Williams [Greg] didn't appear, if that is of any significance), so why a 'fake Cindy'? Once again, just curious, if anyone could shed any light....
Conspiracy theory: Susan opted out of A Very Brady Christmas, just a year earlier, so they (whoever they were) decided that another fake Cindy would do just fine. 😮 It must have worked. She was back for the Bradys.
Well geebus. I dont even remember this episode and we watched the entire run back then. This is amazing they got so many to come back for this. Wow. And I forgot he played Greg in the movie 7 years later.
@@melissacooper4282 i watched a few episodes but yeh i did not last long i think it was kind of spin off Family ties by same producer. This was probably an attempt to boast status and ratings to keep going but well it got cancelled. CB Barnes well he kind of resembles Barry oh played him in the Brady Bunch moive lol probably Chris and Mike put a word in for him. This also touching episode especially with RObert Reed he was probably getting ill with the cancer and he seem to be able to kind of poke fun at himself as Mike in this episode use his dry humor though he hatd playing the role but i guess he loved the kids and he propably respected Florence as costar she seem to get him to relax, loosen up be dry funny.
Pretty horrible. It seems like the template for every show that came around in the 80s. Concerned parents, teenage kid, and very dumb jokes. The jokes that the Brady actors had to make were absolutely abysmal.
If you think that was "bad". If you can, check out the opening theme song to the Australian Soap Opera Neighbors. You would think it was a Sit Com but ti's a Soap Opera. 😊
Just goes to show how much we loved the Brady’s. I feel sad in a way that those days are long gone.
We were obsessed with the Brady bunch in the 80’s and they stopped filming in 1974. I never realized growing up that the show was over before I was even born!!!
Christopher Daniel Barnes would later play Greg Brady in "The Brady Bunch Movie" and "A Very Brady Sequel".
I was wondering why he looked so familiar
I was just wondering about that
He’s also Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid
What are the odds of that happening, especially after this episode? It's awesome!
I thought that was him.
Loved this show, and this was BY FAR my favorite episode. Just perfect. It was a no brainer to cast CDB as Greg in the movie.

God bless Robert Reed, Ann B. Davis, and Florence Henderson. Thank you for the memories.
So glad that you shared this. I've been looking for it. Thank you so much.
I was 13 at the time...I really don't remember anything about this show, but I DO remember watching this episode!!
Same here
This episode was after CBS aired A Avery Brady Christmas in 1988 and before it aired a short-lived revival called The Brady’s in 1990.
I remember watching this episode when it was new. What a hoot! Thanks for uploading. I wonder why the real Cindy Brady was not included in the boxes during the theme song. Susan Olsen wouldn't give permission?
I wondered that too.
This reminds me I wanted so to have the Brady’s as parents growing up. They seemed so perfect
This show was on for most of a full season, but this is literally the only thing it is remembered for. :)
The show actually aired for almost 2 seasons. This episode aired during season two.
This is the only episode I remember!
As a huge fan of INXS, CDB always wore INXS shirts! It was so cool! I always wondered if that was his idea...
"And Jan just ran up to her room and slammed the door." 😂😂😂
Poor Jan. 😅
I have never heard of this series and this is fantastic. I love this.
That was awesome! Absolutely Hilarious 😅Loved it.
CD Barnes had fantastic comic timing..I know he later played Greg and did the voice of Spider-Man but it’s a Shame you don’t see him around anymore
don't forget Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid. ;)
I’ve never seen this show before. Thanks for sharing it.
And just a few months later Eileen would become Elaine. And a couple years later Kristin would become Alison.
Best episode of this series.
I remember seeing this when it was on prime time lol😆😆😆😆😆
Me too. On NBC late 80s
this was training for him playing Greg Brady in 2 brady bunch movies ,Christopher Daniel Barnes good job the Real Cast of the Brady Bunch showing him the Ropes ,the best teachers!
I loved how Mike would start lecturing "Chuck" and the sad Brady music would start up! Sadly, they edited the second speech out of this video.
Gotta find an original NBC broadcast airing, then!
I have the whole thing on VHS somewhere. Maybe I should upload it.....

YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HOW EPIC THAT WAS......
I vaguely remember this.
HE SOUNDS LIKE GREG even HERE!
Thats the boy who played Greg brady in the movie ?
And Jan ran right up to her room and slammed the door…. Yeah that definitely sounds like Jan 😂
I believe the Chuck name was a reference to the forgotten brother of Richie Cunningham.
Oh good point, I never caught that - maybe!
It's a possibility
And also, it's just a dorky name LOL

Wow what an amazing cast ! I never heard about this show
Greg Brady, also Prince Eric the Little Mermaid and 90s Spiderman the animated series voice of peter Parker.
20 years before i remember it was Greg and Marcia running against each other in the original series for student body president.

I thought I saw all the worst Brady Bunch spinoffs, variety shows, series, but this takes the cake.
Anyone know why Day by Day replaced the real Cindy in the opening? And who is playing the fake Cindy??
Wasn't Doug Sheehan on Knots Landing?
yes and he was on General Hospital too
He was married to Pam Ewing as I remember
Am I the only one who noticed she went from Eileen in this one to Elaine on Seinfeld
Thanks for posting this! Any chance you have more episodes of this hard to find show?
I dont remember this at all. Watched the show when it was on but i was in 3rd grade

Is Julia Louis-Dreyfus wearing a wig in the cheerleading scene? Or did she have her hair straightened?
I believe it was a wig. Both she and Courtney Thorne-Smith had on wigs.
Guess they didn’t have the rights to use Cindys likeness
Who the Hell was that Fake as Cindy Brady, i did the Real Cindy Brady Radio Show 2 years ago i could have asked her damn
Yeah that was weird! She didn't look anything at all like Cindy.
@@bethmc95 What I found even weirder was that the the footage of her image was kind of fuzzy and the lighting didn't match the others whereas they put more effort into Chuck's image so it looked consistent to the others.
There must've been legal issues with Susan and they just stuck some random kid in the Cindy box.
They're drooling over Greg, but the one Maureen and Eve liked was Christopher Knight ("Peter").

Was this Elaine before Seinfeld!??
He played Gregg in the movies
I remember this show..🤣 I believe that it lasted only one season..🤓
2 seasons
Two seasons
Do you have any more episodes of " Day by Day " ?
Maureen McCormick was actually pregnant when they taped this.
You don’t say…
I have never even heard of this show....
5:57 Uuummm that girl in the bottom ain’t Cindy 😂
i could sure use another cup of coffee.
MAureen was pregnant with her daughter in real life during this. She on tv before she born.
They were not allowed to use Susan Olsen's picture in the intro for someone reeason.
the apents look like Allan thike and the woman from the TV Show COACH.
Now I burned through my share of pharmaceuticals in the 80's but I have absolutely no memory of this show?
So know one in the family is going to mention that Marcia's pregnant while still at school?
Ben Gibson

From Eileen to Elaine.
🤪😜A knocked up
Marcia Brady!!🤪😜
That was why she wasn't in the Bradys series in 1990.
I'm trying to figure out why they have Olivia Rodrigo in Susan Olsen/Cindy's box ?
Olivia Rodrigo wasn’t born when this episode happened, she was born in 2003.
Instead of Chuck Brady his name should have been Tom.
The show did not last long. This only episode i remember watching brilliant. Esp Bob Reed he die shortly after.
