As someone who doesn't really listen to this type of music. This album is very likeable and pleasant. The details on the instrumentals is really ear catching
Hoy escuché ésta banda por primera vez y, la verdad es que no lo puedo creer. Me vuelan la cabeza! Gracias Eterna vida al rock progresivo (y claramente a sus fusiones con otro tipo de rock)
One of my favorite albums of all time 🤩 I’m a music guru and a musician and I show all my friends this album haha. You TWO are incredible musicians and huge inspirations :) odd time signatures are wicked and the next level
I had one of the weirdest experiences while listening to this on shrooms.. I hallucinated a shadow of some demon then it turned into a ball of light and flew across the room and went into my iPod while It was playing a song from this band and the iPod screen turned on all by itself when the light ball went into it.. no lie
Any updates? What would you like to add to that 8 months later? What do you make of that? Is it all just in your head shroom visuals, or do you think a demon was using your iPod? Sorry for so many questions, you just had a trippy and deep comment and it made me curious!
@@wehwoh527 oh well it happened a few years before I posted this 8 months ago.. but I couldn’t make sense of the song and artist having anything to do with demons. This band and their sound and content seemed irrelevant to me. I remember thinking that and checking for everything about the event. Including seeing if my battery was low incase it was just notifying me, but it wasn’t. There was absolutely no reason for it to do that and everyone knows that’s how iPods work. They just sit there with the light off while playing with no reason to go on EVER. I still don’t know why. Maybe it wasn’t a demon. Perhaps a combination of hallucination with electromagnetic human manipulation power going off uncontrollably 🤷♂️
@@wehwoh527 oh and also maybe my subconscious had a premonition that it was going to turn on regardless and hallucinated about it before hand. But that would require a reason for an iPod screen to just randomly turn on also which never does.
One of the greatest shows I've seen was these guys doing their thing with Goddard, Motel Mattress, Treymarche, and Jane Eyre at the Firehouse. Bonus of the show was some birthday cake.
“Let's suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream that you wanted to dream. And that you could, for example, have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time. Or any length of time you wanted to have. And you would, naturally as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could conceive. And after several nights of 75 years of total pleasure each, you would say "Well, that was pretty great." But now let's have a surprise. Let's have a dream which isn't under control. Where something is gonna happen to me that I don't know what it's going to be. And you would dig that and come out of that and say "Wow, that was a close shave, wasn't it?" And then you would get more and more adventurous, and you would make further and further out gambles as to what you would dream. And finally, you would dream ... where you are now. You would dream the dream of living the life that you are actually living today.”
The band Starfucker (now STRFKR) also used it on a track around this time, but I think Giraffes beat 'em to it. Note to self: put Alan Watts quotes into songs.
First Ruins, then Hella, then Lightning Bolt, then Zeus!, now these guys... Are there more of them? Have already a journalist come with a name for the new subgenre of post rock?
+HerrKielbasa The bands you named are more in the math rock genre. Bands in the math rock genre that you should look out: Toe, Don Caballero.... Bands in the post rock genre: Mono, Mogwai, Explosions in the sky, Gospeed you black emperor!,Tortoise, This will destroy you... those are the bands that comes to my mind right now

I love how terrible the name is its sorta like the classic edgy name joke between metal bands. There name is so retarded and awful that your going to laugh every time you see it, but you'll also never forget it because its so bad. its actually really smart.

the show where Ken from GG almost body slammed the crazy kid?!?!?!?
That show was EPIC!
Fun fact: at the 3:20 mark, the guitarist actually set himself on fire!
+Zionswasd Mark? His name is Joseph Andreoli
***** Mark wasn't capitalized; I wasn't using it as a name.
***** My mistake lol
A lot of King Crimson echoes there, and that's definitely not disparaging.
I would call this rather "Experimental Math Rock" - That`s what it is.
Did anyone catch that Alan Watts quote??
