    • @johnabbe
      @johnabbe 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@onisuryaman408 There's an old SF story about population going up and up and someone asking what happens if there are no more souls when someone is born - and then it happens some babies are born living, but without any real will to live. I think of this when I see the vacant stare in the eyes of people in so many AI images.
Even scarier though is, we really are on the other side of the uncanny valley with still images in a technical sense, and more and more often we just won't be able to tell. Other than the flaws that low quantity/quality of input, or lack of reasoning, produce.

Let's point out that the only reason "Just use AI" is the default is because of corporate propaganda, I really feel like trust in and willingness to present AI generated work as something one made themselves is a litmus test for one's intelligence and how gullible they are to have the wool pulled over their eyes in the brave new world dystopia that's come upon us.

Very glad on your decision with ai art! I’m seeing far too many videos on TH-cam and other platforms just using nonsensical ai images to depict history. While I really like the old style, I think the new format’s perfect for having more in depth content, and it’s nice to listen to while I’m at work and not necessarily looking at the screen the whole time.

Great explanation, thanks! I have a few items of feedback on when you’re on camera:
    1. Try to sit further back. Currently it feels a bit too overbearing, and we can’t see your hand gestures. A lot of tech reviewers do a great job in this
    2. Clean up the background. Seeing white monitors is really unpleasant
    3. Try using multiple camera angles for variety
    4. The camera feels blurry. Either the focus is wrong, or it’s too dim
These small changes will really enhance the video!

I prefer this style. The important thing is the wonderful research and the way you lay it out. This style does come across more professional, the colours and cohesive style really work, and I find it personally more engaging. I also ran into the issue of not having good visual sources to show on screen which is solved by simply showing yourself on screen. I can only imagine how much more difficult that was when working with Islamic history due a it having even less visual depictions of people.
Also After Effects is the worst, truly a black hole that sucks in all time available.

Your decision to shift to a cleaner, more minimalistic style makes perfect sense-it’s not just about aesthetics, but also improving the depth and accuracy of the content. I also appreciate how you acknowledged AI’s limits. The idea that images created by machines could lack the historical context that brings them to life adds a philosophical layer to the conversation. Quite kismet that you put something like this out, because I'm trying to incorporate more live action shots (i.e. my actual face) into my own channel for a variety of reasons, including to mitigate the time spent hunting down even vaguely related historical depictions (which sadly are increasingly AI generated) to fill out the visual element of the video. Also copyright claims are the scourge of movie TH-cam essays. It's a bit more effort - especially when you're sharing a one bedroom apartment with somone on a different sleep schedule - but it's gonna streamline the editing process and give my channel a more distinct identity

    Thank you for this explanation!
I figured it’d be something along those lines, but never knew exactly why you once(?) used an image of the Danish army receiving from God in Heaven (or so the story goes and that image shows) what became, and still is, Dannebrog, our national flag and the original Nordic Cross flag. Legend has it that this happened during a 1219 battle against the “Heathens“ in Tallinn, Estonia. A battle that the Danes were losing until this event miraculously turned things around.
So yeah, while I get that the painting in question might just look like any old medieval battle scene to most people around the world, to anyone having grown up in Denmark, and possibly the other Nordic countries too, depictions of that particular battle are instantly recognisable as not very relevant to the topic of your video 😅

Your AI output depends 100% on your prompt. You have to give it as much context as possible if you want a precise output. Otherwise, it WILL be random and biased.

Thanks for not using AI. Ai looks so cheap and also make your content cheap

I am sitting on about 15 stories for which I got images made by different artists and have still not gotten to do the voice over and the edit the videos completely. It is indeed a LOT of work.
Having said that I disagree with the AI thing. IMO handicraft has its place and so did industrial revolution which has brought to the day and age where TH-cam is possible. AI will get better too. No point hating on it, it will integrate in our lives in some way or the other like editing that thing of the face.
