The beautiful irony in ending the album about female empowerment on Miss Understood, a song which sees an almost defeated Simz lamenting a bitter fallout with her sister, explaining why she is introverted. She spent the entirety of the album coming out of her shell, without compromising herself, yet she ultimately reminds us of how incapable she truly is to mould the world around her. That’s why she loves being alone, protecting her energy.

The whole album is great but the vibe on “Two worlds apart” is quite literally on another planet

This album surprised me. It came out of nowhere and popped onto my radar and now honestly it’s my favourite album of the year. I love it.
This is album is something truly special, man. It's without a doubt the best hip hop album to come out since Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly". I'm calling it now, in the future this album will be looked back on as an all-time hip hop classic among the likes of "Illmatic", "Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers", "Ready To Die", "Madvillainy", "To Pimp A Butterfly", etc.
Add Miseducation to that list.

Exactly what I was talking about with my homie. A lot of albums let me down, I have Grey Area on vinyl... I was worried. But this album blew me away, and continues to. This and King's Disease II is going to be 1 and 2.

This is definitely the kinda album that is a 2 sitting listen for the first couple of times just cause of magnitude of its intricacies. But then as you start recognizing and digest the little nuances it becomes a complete piece. And then eventually u cant listen to it in any other way except in one listen

Haven't heard Nas' KD2 in full but my fave projects this year thus far have been Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, Tyler's CMIYGL and Kanye's Donda. Also really liked The Off-Season by J Cole.

You should listen to the band called Sault. It's the anonimous british supergroup. Guess it includes Cleo Sol(she was singing on this album), Michael Kiwanuka, Little Simz and the others. And it produces by Inflo. They sound AMAZING. Some folk-african vibes, soul, indie-alternative, hip-hop, trip-hop, pinch of electronic.
I discovered lil simz yearrss ago from her EDGE EP which was a pretty good project. Her growth from then was amazing to witness

You should react to her live on Tiny Desk. Little Simz is unreal live - her band and the energy is fantastic. And yeah, this albums unreal. It crosses genres too, just speaks to people. I'm not someone who listens to a lot of rap or hip hop, but I just can't stop listening to it. She's a genius.
She is not speaking to most people that hip-hop/rap actually speaks to. This is rap for people that don't like/appreciate real rap/hip-hop. This is some type of African fusion music. Not rap hip/hop.

Have you ever heard of/listened to SAULT? They are a sort-of anonymous British collective of musicians who do soul/R&B type stuff. Inflo produces everything and Cleo Soul is one of their lead vocalists (Simz featured on their latest album too). To your point about using real instruments, SAULT clearly does and their production is gorgeous

Yeah, soo many amazing albums released this year so far, but DAMN... This album just has that IT thing. Simbi is such an amazing MC and the music is brilliant ✨ This probably takes the cake at the end of the year.
It's a shame time isn't unlimited because it would be amazing for you to hear the UK albums that have shaped the hip hop scene in the country. As someone who has heard endless UK hip hop records, this is definitely up there. Simz already has a legacy and it feels like she's just got started

Yeah College dropout, late registration and miseducation aswell. Maybe even some Tribe called Quest and outkast too. This album 100% stands on its own though. One of the Best albums ive ever heard
