- In this video i make the standing rigging for the rear mast. I also tie the support for the boats for the stern sides. This Video comes in 1080p.
For the build i will use different ropes that they were sponsored by Ropes Of Scale and you can find the links below if you wish to do the same.

I'm really pleased that you are finding the book useful ❤ considering that the book describes his own 6 foot model of Victory I think it's more useful to model makers than mere students of Victory.
I cannot thank you enough Thomas!!! I had some questions and the book gave me the answers, like the boats rigging :)
Hello John
Great show, loved the details with the boats, and congratulations with the Milestone, impressiv with All those followers, well deserved.
Best wishes Simon
Thank you very much my friend!!! There are people out there like you and me who wish to help each other, that the beauty of this hobby :)
Nice work, John...you have masterfully done the rigging thus far!
Thank you kindly my friend!!!!
Nice work John. The ship really comes alive with all the rigging. The ropes look so much better than what comes with the kits. I think I will replace the ropes on Santisima with ropes of scale when I get to that point.
Thank you very much my friend!!! Yes the ropes complete this work of art!!! You should, she will look even more beautiful!
Standing rigging is one of my favourite parts to do. Nice work. 👍
Mine too Buck, i love that part and also the running! Thank you very much!!!
Hey John, are you gonna be doing the new occre hms victory which is extremely overpriced?
Looks good, but not that for that kind of money
No i do not think so. She has very good quality of materials but i do not like the open hull and i do not like especially the price. There are better looking Victory models with less cost.
@@JohnsWoodenShips Well said John. Far better victory models and cheaper. One example is the one I purchased caldercraft hms victory, was £1000 and almost 20kg box heaviest of them all and 1.4m if i am correct while occre one is £1300 smaller and a lot lot lighter
Really nice detail work John on the standing rigging! You are so correct in that the Ropes of Scale are really nice and look so authentic for such a beautiful ship.
They make the difference Paddy! Thank you very much!!!
Great work John regards Nigel 😊
Thank you very much my friend!!!
Absolutely amazing! One question. Did the sailors unroll what appear to be sleeping bags, or were instead hung like hammock?
Thank you very much!!! If i am not mistaken those were the hammocks that they used for sleeping. So when they didn't sleep they were role them and put them in the rails.
Are there enough hammocks for the 800+ crew or were some used by off-watch sailors during the daytime?
@@thomaseland3136 i really don't know that.
I am glad that you like it my friend!!! Thank you very much for your kind words!!!
That's the colour I grew up with but they are now saying she was a dusky pinkish shade at Trafalgar, and she wears this scheme now.
I have seen that pinky color and i do not like it. I prefer much much more this yellow.
John, how do you know what order to rig the lines? Is it just experience or is it in your instructions? Love the detail - Mike
Always 1st comes the rope ladders, then the standing rigging, next the running (yards) and finally the running (sails). In between you do it with any order you like :)
John, what size of the two barrels did you use for the deck? Great work Ray
I have used all the small ones i got from Billing boats (around 10-12 mm long) and i had in my stock one bigger, around 15mm long.
