Related to #2, but other could be: don't act as if the lead is your property. Yes, you may have built a great connection with the lead, the lead may be very into you, but don't think you got in the bag and don't act jealous if the lead gets too romantic/hot with another contestant. Until you propose/get proposed by the lead (or he jumps a fence for you), you don't get to claim the lead as your real partner and everyone else is entitled to give their try in winning the lead over.
Also what would be the 7 deadly sins of things never to do as the Bachelor/ette? Maybe something like 1. Don't be a Juan Pablo, 2. Don't choose the villain, 3. Don't make your pick halfway through season, 4. Don't take bull from the contestants, 5. Don't stir even more drama, 6. Don't let your crotch do the thinking, 7. If someone mistreats you in any way don't stoop to their level.

@@paulojrneto Colton broke #3 and #6 on your list with Cassie. If you're the Bachelor, you should trust the format and not make any decision until you have to. Otherwise you risk having a meltdown like Colton's. If you're like Colton and you just want to fall in love with someone (or worse yet, if you're like Juan Pablo and you just want to date multiple women at the same time), then you don't need to be on the Bachelor; you can do that anywhere.
People talk about contestants not being ready or not being there for the right reasons, but with Colton's season it was Colton who wasn't ready and wasn't there for the right reasons. You shouldn't sign up to be the Bachelor unless you are serious about finding a successful long-term marriage and you're willing to take your time and get it right.

But I wouldn't be too judgemental about it. Nearly all people sign up to the show with the mindset of aiming for some level of fame, income, fantasy escapism from real life and/or professional opportunities and if they do find love in it, it's a glorious bonus.
And as for my rule #6, in Colton's case, I believe that his crotch may have also given some considerable thought about Hannah G before definitely settling for Cassie.

It's amazing how many women and men snitch on each other. When my wife and I watch we'll be screaming at the TV like "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!? IT NEVER ENDS WELL!!"
I would normally completely agree about the snitching. However, I felt it was necessary for Katie to speak up on this season of the bachelor. But maybe it’s different because she didn’t say any specific names?
and i dont think her intent was to send anna or victoria home, but rather just to stop the bullying
I think katie was having a really hard time listening to grown women act like highschool bullies.
She tried to call them out and make the living situation better but the girls just kept at it. I can see how she felt like she had no other choice. She also didn't say any names she was just talking about the situation as a whole.
i think snitching can be important and necessary for the season but it doesnt make a person end up with the lead
I don’t think Katie snitched, she didn’t give names, she didn’t do it because she felt threatened as a romantic rival, she did it because some of the women there were being ripped apart by a mob of mean girls. I don’t care what the situation is, that sort of bullying could NOT go unaddressed.
I agree. What she saw was actually bullying, it had nothing to do with your own personal opinions.

sin 2: focusing on other relationships
sin 3: eating on dates
sin 4: use a weird gimmick night one
sin 5: interrupt the other contestants when they talk to the lead
sin 6: use the following words: bachelorette, bachelor in paradise
sin 7: diss the lead
I really hate when they are doing 1,4 and 5.

You forgot the most obvious one. Don’t drink so much that you make a fool of yourself. How often have we seen that happen...even on night one! Women crying in the bathroom, men fighting or jumping naked in the swimming pool. It’s great TV though. 😜
...and unwanted serenading... especially if you can’t sing like that weird guy with the nasally voice who just wouldn’t quit making up dumb lyrics... I think it was Jojo’s season? Who remembers?

for anyone not watching the current season of the bachelor (matt james), *SPOILER* but katie "snitched" on some girls but honestly it was the right thing to do because they were being so antagonistic in the house. you kind of feel sorry for her because after snitching, i dont see her as a contender for top 4. the snitcher is (almost?) never top 4
I wouldn’t even call that snitching because that issue is very serious, to me snitching is like “she said this about you” or “she said this about this girl” and mentioning their names, which Katie didn’t do.
I think another sin is don't be outwardly crazy and all party girl/boy. Usually those guys make it midseason before kicking it.
Peter doesn’t follow these rules, he gives the snitcher and the girls who talk about other relationships the rose lol
he missed tweeting some things that can hurt your chances of becoming on the show in the first place, or makes the audience hate you and not want you back

I would've guessed that the producers also wouldn't have liked them chewing things for continuation. Like if they decided to change the order of a couple of clips to spin the story or maybe even reshoot something. You can't do that if the food keeps changing.
this might fall into another category but you also NEVER want to talk to the bachelor/ette once you are supposed to leave them alone or in the "after hours" of a cocktail party. Once the roses have been given out, DO NOT talk to them. there are almost no situations I could see where this will benefit you.

I just loved that! My cousin and I live together and she got me watching all of the bachelor shows. At fist I was not enthusiastic. But the shows won me over. This "Seven Deadly Sins of Bachelor Conduct" is absolutely dead on. (Here's to Becca tying the knot finally by the way.)

I never watched the shows, but I can tell you that that Justin guy (with a girlfriend in Canada) is JD Fortune. He won some some singing show, I think it was called Rockstar and he became the lead singer of INXS for a while as a result of winning. About three years later he hit the papers because he was apparently homeless, addicted to drugs and crashing on friends' couches. I know his face, it is him and he is from Toronto, Canada. 😏

Ok 2 shouldn’t be a sin an that is why the show is toxic. Of course you are going to be wondering what the lead is thinking of the other contestants...of course you are gonna wonder if what you have is as real or meaningful as the other contestants. You can’t build a good relationship without that trust that they are faithful and it totally makes sense to not want to commit to someone who is going after other people. That said if you aren’t ok with that don’t go on the show.
