Some quick lore about the characters that will help you appreciate this game even more than you already do: Maria: To put it pretty simple, she is a manifestation that the town created, to resemble Mary. The town manifested this sexualized version of Mary as a way to tease him, in a way, but it also used her as a way to teach him some lessons. Since she resembles Mary, when James sees her die, it's like him having to deal with Mary dying all over again. It's why he sees her die over and over again, as a form of punishment. The original had an entire DLC about all of this. It's like she wants to be her own person, but she is destined to go down this path with James. That's how she knew about the videotape and shared memories that only Mary would know about(shown when she's behind bars in the Labyrinth). The DLC was titled "Born From a Wish" suggesting that she was created because it's what James wished Mary was like or could've been like, had she not got sick. Maria also has an attachment to Laura, which James questions, because Mary and Laura were close. The bond Mary formed with her transferred over to Maria as well. Angela: [TRIGGER WARNING] Truly a tragic story here, her father abused her in more ways than one, not comfortable typing out what exactly, but I'm sure you can imagine. It's hinted that her brother may have as well. In a newspaper article you missed before fighting Abstract Daddy, it mentions a crime involving a stabbing. This was Angela, who had murdered her father and brother for the things they were doing to her. Her mom would let it happen too, which is why she said it's what her mom told her she deserved. The Abstarct Daddy boss symbolized the abuse. He is two people, on a bedframe, under a cover... representing him and Angela... It's why Angela has her bloody knife and why she was drawn to the town. This is why she yells at James when he gets too close to her, because she's afraid he's gonna hurt her, like her father and brother did. She is very apologetic throughout the game because of all of this too. At the start she mentions looking not only for her mom, but father and brother too. One of the original creators confirms that she does die, although it is unclear if it happens when she goes up the stairs or sometime later. Laura: Met Mary under the care of a nurse they shared. Mary would tell Laura all about James and Laura would notice that he wouldn't visit her in her final days. Mary hints that she would've liked to adopt her, had things been different. In the ending you got, the Leave ending, you see James walk out of town with her, and you can assume that he adopts her, like Mary would've wanted. Laura doesn't see the monsters in town, like the others, because she is an innocent child who just happens to be there looking for Mary too. She doesn't see the town like the others do either. Her letter from Mary serves as a big twist before the actual big twist, when the letter mentions her 8th birthday. James's asks her when her borthday is and she respinds to him saying last week. This throws James's timeline of Mary dying 3 years ago right out the window. Players either see this as hope of her actually being alive OR they start to unravel that James isn't being entirely truthful. It makes the player question a lot of things. A few people think she's a ghost, but to clear the air on that, one of the original creators, who was also involved in the remake, posted this today x.com/adsk4/status/1845840918039105550?s=46 Eddie: Bullied because of how he looks, to a point where it drove him crazy. We know he was drawn to the town for killing a dog and shooting a man in the legs. His story is a case of bullying gone very bad and in a way, you kinda do feel for him. Pyramid Head: This is James's own manifestation of his guilt, for killing Mary. It's his own way of punishing himself and trying to force himself to come to terms with what he did. The game starts off with 1, representing him having killed Mary but later on, when we see 2 of them, the other one is added to represent him killing Eddie as well. He killed 2 people, so he sees 2 Pyramid Heads since he's guilty of killing them both. During the double Pyramid Head boss fight, he tells them that he knows why he needed them and that he doesn't need them anymore. He ends by saying "I'm ready" meaning he has finally accepted what he's done and is ready to come to terms with murdering his wife. James and Mary: The two were madly in love and married, up until Mary contracted a disease, which was terminal. As she got worse, she'd start to lash out at everyone, because she was so angry that her life was being taken from her and there was nothing she could do. She would lash out at James a lot too, especially him. Near the end of the game, before the final boss, you hear an argument they had while you're walking down the long dark corridor. This is Mary yelling at James while she's lying in bed, sick. It's understandable for her to be so angry, considering her condition. This would, however, eventually lead James to visit less and less. During that time, she met Laura, who kept her company in her final days. She saw a daughter in her and wished that she could be around to potentially adopt her. She meant a lot to Mary and Mary meant a lot to her too. At the beginning of the game and some other cutscenes, you can see a marking on James's ring finger, showing that he once wore a ring but had taken it off, likely soon after he killed her. SPeaking of which, the timeline of Mary dying is actually a lot closer to the events of the beginning of the game. Maybe even that day or at least within that week, since Mary had wished Laura a happy birthday in her letter to her, which had only been a week before the events of the game. In fact, a dark secret about the beginning of the game on the observation deck is that James has Mary's body in the backseat of his car. Free cameras confirm this and so do some of the endings. There's a few more but I don't want to pack it all into one, but I hope you see this! I may have mised a few things but that's the simple explanation. Not every Silent Hill is about the characters trauma, SIlent Hill 2 was very different from 1 and 3, it's what made it so special back then. It is the father of psychological horror games. It's why the genre is so popuar today, but so many fail to leave the same lasting impression like SH2 does. I highly recommend watching some lore videos, as I'm sure some will come out in time. A lot of new things added to it, so definitely wait for new ones.
I already knew the characters’ bios but it is nice to brush up on them again so thanks. I’m more curious about the letter that hollow found on the rooftop where it was talking about some patient that had a cold and they were able to go back home some time later. Maybe that’s relating to Mary being at the hospital and her pushing James away bcuz of her illness? Bcuz in the bad ending she’s on a bed and he carries her to her car and kills himself with her. Idk but that’s just my theory on that
Mary contacted a disease that made her ugly and bedridden, she lashed out at James while she was staying at the hospital and drove him away. She gets to go back home right before she’s supposed to die, James ends up smothering her to death because he doesnt want to deal with her anymore. Silent Hill is a place with a long history outside of james and silent hill 2. Cults, Gods, Demons etc. But the main thing is the town itself feeds on guilt and negative emotions. It attracts people who’ve being through trauma. James mentally repressed his memories to forget he murdered Mary. In the ending that hollow got, James ends up leaving with the orphan girl who was staying at the same hospital as Mary and who was there for her while James wasn’t. In James trunk or backseat of his car, Mary’s body is in there.
@@emelyne2232 in the original there was only 6 endings (2 of which are joke endings like UFO and the Dog ending), the remaining 4 are Leave, In Water, Rebirth and Maria. The remake has 8 endings, basically the same endings as the Original but they added 2 new endings which are Bliss and Stillness.
I am not happy with the way the ending was handled... If he hated her why spend so much time looking for her, or why even feel guilt. It was an ending meant to be slightly influenced by your perceptions of James' character. While I believed he was frustrated and tired, I truly do not believe it was done because he "didn't want to deal with her anymore", given my family just lived through two family members dying from cancer within a year of each other, the suffering at the end, it's horrific, it's draining on both the one dying and the caretakers. - James watched as his wife died, not just once as the disease progressed, but in the end when euthanasia was the final decision to stop Mary's pain. I honestly believe Mary chose to go to that place with him, and he smothered her, then put her in the backseat. However due to his guilt he couldn't leave silent hill, as such he was made to face his guilt.
@@AlyceMalycehe loved her he just hated the person she became when she got sick, that’s why he tells himself she died “3 years ago” because that’s when she started to become sick and lash out at him. Obviously he’s gonna feel guilty because that was still his wife and he hates himself for what he did.
Silent Hill 2's ending wrecked me. It brought back so many buried memories of losing my mother to cancer. Watching her fade away over those years, especially the last two, was agonizing. I saw myself in James, trapped in that fog of denial and guilt. The game captured that feeling of helplessness and despair so perfectly. It's been years, and I still haven't fully processed it all. This game has given me a lot to think about, and feel a strong urge to go visit her grave tomorrow.
1:18:47 - That closet was there to show the only safe place for Angela. This whole boss fight is an allegory for the domestic and sexual abuse Angela went through in her home by her father. That closet also has a bear and a book in the corner, implying it all happened to her as a kid. It's an incredibly dark part of the game, and it's the kind of dark imagery that makes this the scariest psychological horror game ever.
This is one of the most disturbingly inteospective games of all time and still earns the reputation its had all these years. Glad you've enjoyed the game brother!
I always knew the reason why Silent Hill 2 was considered the best psychological horror game in the early 2000s and was always remembered for more than just Pyramid Head. but because the plot of the story is very deep and sad from the lives of James and Mary which really seems to depict the embodiment of the darkness and grayness of the city where they reunite and say goodbye afterwards, Silent Hill. Thank you for playing this game until end, Hollow.😢👍
@@aSSGoblin1488 same. Silent Hill is truly Horror Pyschological and i always scary with all their horror element. even though for ME, Silent Hill 1 is scarier at roleplay but in plot Story i can say Silent Hill 2 is the best.
@@aSSGoblin1488thank you. However, SH2 Remake exceeded my expectations. In the original version, the story plot was very deep, the same as this remake. However, amazingly, the roleplay and ambiance of the Remake are really scarier which ultimately completes the perfection of all the horror elements of this game. SH2 Remake pays off the horror of this game genre as it should. 😁👏👏👍
Some things you did to contribute to the Leave ending you got: - Healing yourself quickly - Running down the hallway, when "Mary" berates you, ignoring the manifestation's allure - Not spending too much time with Maria, and (allowing her to be injured by regular monsters/James) - (Looking at Mary's letter multiple times (the writing disappears in the hotel)) - Not studying Angela's knife I believe New Game+ will force a different ending
You got one wrong, in the long dark hallway when you can hear the memory of Mary talking to you , you have to finish what she’s saying to get a higher chance in getting the Leave ending. It's also not some manifestation of Mary, you’re hearing her last words from the past (she even mentions the flowers James got her then). It's also why if you listen to everything, in the end she gets very sad and apologetic, making the players kind of understand the torment she was in.
@@madithevampirequeen9316 you remember it correctly, if you want the In Water ending you have to skip Mary’s speech in the long hallway, along with the other things that contribute to that ending.
Hey y’all. My family and I have been waiting on this gem by our brother Hollow. Y’all please pray for us here in Florida in the mist of the storm. The binge watching of this game and the crazy weather is low key awesome. Love yall, keep being awesome. Jax🤟🏾
Hi Hollow, I never commented on a video but I saw some trolls in the comments and really hated that. I wanted to tell you that I freakin love ur gameplays and I enjoy your reactions and your humor. Keep up the good work!
I just binge-watched your Silent Hill 2 videos for 3 consecutive days, just like a series in Netflix. So scary yet so exciting and emotional... I super love your gameplay.. The way you talk throughout, when you go corner by corner to loot. I'll definitely rewatch it again 💕💯
7:25 the prison doesn’t actually exist, it was created from James’ mind, which is why the location and structure of the place makes no sense, the long stairway in the historical society would put you under the lake, not to mention the many holes you jump down too
First was thinking that the combat and enemies where repetitive most of the time. However the game having a very well made dark and bleak atmosphere, making the immersion powerful, but got bored some times seeing the same legged monsters, and the same dirty corridors. BUT THEN, I saw the parallel between this 'unreality' world, and depression/grief. And that makes sense. When depressed, you have anhedonia (you cannot take pleasure in anything, even food becomes tasteless), you see the world around you with gravity and dark thoughts, so everything becomes colorless, dark, foul and dirty, and even when you know that, fighting those impressions/feelings is an everyday and repetitive to death struggle. Pyramid head in my opinion is a manifestation of the depressed subconscious of James, bringing him down every time he sees a small light of hope at the end of the tunnel (first time he kills Maria, or when he sends him back to the underworld the moment he reaches the town and the daylight of exteriors ...etc) Getting healed of grief and depression is a continuous, tedious and tiring work, you do everyday and hour, while fighting your own thoughts or despair, your wishes to let go once and for all, to abandon everything AND YOURSELF to this world of dirt, guilt, shame, darkness, hopelessness, disappointments (in yourself, and others in you) ... So if that's the game's general theme, it was executed to perfection, to the point of getting bored and tired of killing the same annoying/distorted/kind of sexy and attractive monsters on high heels, and even friends whom you empathize with and betray you, yeet you still understand them and feel for them (Angela, Eddie, Laura, Maria ...) This tedious feeling is also reinforced with having no progress bars on enemies, or signs that you're actually hurting/killing them (and if they could revive and come back), as in a depressive state, you could be better one day, and then the dark thoughts come back, and motivation for life is lost again, and you have to fight once more against yourself, to get better (sometimes, even the world and people around you makes it harder to go back towards the light, and find your will for life again) And in the end Pyramid head killed themselves, James isn't the one who killed them (at least not with bullets) but they let him go when he finally get to the phase of acceptance and acknowledgment of his own feelings and past actions, when he demonstrated his will to survive/live, that he should face reality and let go of his wish of control, of changing the past (finding his wife alive), knowing she's dead and he is in fact the one who killed her. Still not sure if she didn't actually die from the disease, but his guilt of not being by her side is transformed in the fantasy of having killed her himself. At the (this) end, James reads the letter, accepts that Mary is understanding of the distance he (and she) put between them, and wants him to go on with his life. But the guilt and loss, that made him wanting to come back to her (to their happy memories in Silent Hill), are now gone, and he is ready to finally go back to his life, while still cherishing their past, and also keeping Mary's wishes alive and taking care of them for the future (as in Laura, who, to me, looks as a child version of Mary (their daughter?), innocent, healthy and full of life, that James will help keep on living from now on. He's been neglecting her, not telling her what happened nor reading to her the final letter of her mother, in complete avoidance of the reality of things. When finally he does, they both can leave the dark places, and resume their lives back.
Mary was terminally ill with some few days or weeks left to live (there’s a diary that James picks up in Brookhaven that says they’re sending the patient home), but she wouldn’t die yet if James didn’t smother her in her sleep. She also showed resistance which illustrates that she is still definitely alive.
After watching the ending I go back to the part 1 beginning of the game, and everything makes so much sense! I really love the entire game. Thank you for playing and finishing this game! Totally awesome!
Great series!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I’m so glad they brought silent hill back. It’s always been ahead of its time. I would definitely like to see silent hill the room be remade. That one was my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
In my restless dreams, I see that game... It was a wonderful soul-wrecking journey, and your comments made the game even more heartfelt. Thanks for a great walkthrough 🖤
I’ve been enjoying your playthroughs for a while now Hollow, thank you for making these! I was wondering, however, whether it would be possible for you to upload unedited versions of these playthroughs? It seems like you cut out quite a bit of content where you’re lost or doing things like going back for pickups and such. Personally, I think those are the best parts and it’s a bit of a shame that the videos jump right past them! I love seeing people taking their time, trying to figure out what to do and where to go, it is a lot of fun to watch. Perhaps you have viewers who prefer the cut-to-the-chase approach where a lot of ”filler” gets cut, I don’t know, but I want you to know that some of us would really love to see all of it. Backtracking, getting stuck… makes the entire playthrough more cohesive and real, in my opinion. :)
Silent Hill is about the evil cult that turned the town into a special place - like sacred Indian burial ground, sacred. The main theme is worms, which represent corruption, and connects to the primary antagonist. Silent Hill 2 is more the mental illness aspect - disassociating from physical reality. A manifestation that gets glossed over (more difficult to recognize here) are the corpses that show up, like in the Blue Creek Apartments in front of the TV, and the guys that Eddie killed are James' character model. Silent Hill 3 returns to discussing the cult, and the supernatural ramifications of their dark rituals. The main theme being motherhood and female (anti-) sexuality, similar to Wendy in Peter Pan. Silent Hill 4: The Room once again examines the fractured mind, this time in more of an observer role, the manifestations of the cursed town having spread into the surrounding area, thanks to the machinations of a certain character that was mentioned in previous instalments. With the premise that social anxiety can be as crippling as any kind of lunacy. American Silent Hill sequels: Meh or worse. Silent Hill the Movie: Combines ideas of the sequel, with the set up and narrative of the first game, e.g. Valtiel appearing in his more famous Pyramid Head incarnation. As the couple weave in and out of the Fog World and the Other World, by the end of the movie, they still haven't found each other, and so both the husband and wife return to their previous worlds, but in separate dimensions without the other.
now after watching this i understand why some diehards hated seeing pyramid head in the movie. i never played any of the games except 4 i just knew he was a famous design and its the most silent hill thing you ever see pop culturally for people who dont know silent hill directly but know of it. So i understand why the movie used it for popularity sake but for lore sake now knowing why it showed up and what it means it really did have no place just being thrown in.
Hey Hollow, I just wanna say watching you really helped me get through college and I watched all your videos as much as I can. Thank you so much for helping me get through all this.
Your playthrough on this classic (that I’ve loved since the original) was so much fun! By far, the most enjoyable I’ve been watching on TH-cam. It was wonderful being able to re-experience this awesome game through you, as someone who’d never played it. ❤
I rly love these videos, i just wish there were less cuts I love to see other ppl solving these puzzles (i watch these videos after i played through these parts of the game myself) and see them figuring them out I would absolutely sit through uncut videos, even if it makes the videos double as long! I enjoy watching them that much😂
That cutscene after killing "daddy" legit made me tear up... Also When hollow said "they didn't know me now know everything about me" i feel like could be explained with the town. You can find articles about Angelas father being stabbed. Even though James killing Mary isn't in the news it's possible the town could plant things like that so Angela and Eddie can read them about James. It'd also be cool to get dlc or even a complete game drom Angela and Eddies pov in silent hill even though Im not sure if I could mentally handle Angelas.
Angela stabbed her father and burned down the house that kills the family members (except the mother that left them that is why she was looking for her). That is why you see her in the room engulfed in flames.
Silent hilll 2 is not a follow up from 1. 1 & 3 are connected but everyone that goes to silent will see it differently. The first silent hill is actually my fav of them all, i would be so happy if they would remake it next.
Gotta say one of my fav channels, how fast you get your playthroughs out is incomparable. I also really enjoy the games you find to play on here very interesting always. As well ive noticed not many people play all of Chillas Art games so im really glad that you do! Love the content looking forward to more!!
I never get tired of watching people realize who James is. Especially when people invest so much time into his struggle. I do wish they hadn't changed parts of Pyramid Heads character because it really is a mirror for James
I love how this man runs around with super low health, tons of healing and ammo for the entirety of this game. Like its impressive but at some point just start blasting stuff, you dont get points for not using everything youve scavenged 😂
I loved your gameplay!!!! You went in every single door and passage Tried not to leave anything behind Hope you enjoyed your first visit to Silent Hill
Again, on my way commuting to work and just had it in my gut that Hollow is done with the next chapter and yes he is!!! Thank you for always consistently playing games beautifully ❤
Being a silent hill first timer myself but always curious,it was a pleasure to share experiencing this game with you Hollow,i love your sense of humor, wish you would've used the shotty more tho ngl haha
i loved watching you play this i swear ive hardly slept bc ive been constantly refreshing the page to see if you had uploaded the rest of your "series"! this was truly a treat and as luck would have it i watched the last video on my birthday (today : D) i wouldnt have had it any other way! you truly have remarkable skills when it comes to games, there was no puzzle or area that you were stuck on for long. you have excellent problem solving skills and just pushed right thru to the very end! youre always so thorough and detailed in your gameplay and always manage to have some sort of strategy to plan ahead annnnnd thats why i continue to come back! love all your content but this particular gem is gonna be my favorite....i loved this game since i was a child and the remake was absolutely beautiful to watch and thank you for letting us all be a part of it! i guess ill end it here and cant wait to see you in the next one!
Bro hollow you need to hit up theRadBrad, he’s titled the King of Walkthrough Gaming. You two would get along great, and I think you could make a really awesome video!
Watching this has been scary and hilarious all at once! I hope you and your family are doing well. Thanks for the consistency in uploading this Hollow!
I have never thought i would sit down 8+ hours watching a horror game playthrough, when i hate horror genre so much. I just love how you’re not frantic, it makes the video enjoyable to watch. I’m subscribing 😊
Finally finished watching this and all I can say is wow. Huge fan of the OG Silent Hill and this was so well done, so lovingly recreated, expanded in a way inkeeping with the original and it’s gonna give me a whole new set of nightmares!
Excellent playthrough 👏 I have watched several (I am *a tad* obsessed with this game and so excited it’s been remade) - this was one of the best (and best in terms of fighting skill and figuring out the story for a first time player). Thanks for posting 🎉
Just a theory but it’s possible that James didn’t actually kill Mary, rather the pillow smothering is a metaphor for him killing her in his mind 3 years ago… aka possible he hated what the sickness made her become and just phased her out of his mind, stopped visiting and also maybe even started going to strip clubs and looking for the Mary he married in other people who looked like her. Mary sensing James had fallen out of love with her, knew she had nothing to come home to if she kept fighting her illness as there was already too much damage done to their relationship, so she willed the illness to kill her. Once he found out she died a week ago this forced him to face his guilt of not being there, going back to silent hill and facing all of the distractions he allowed to get in the way of not being there for his wife. And ultimately he was the one who killed her as he completely abandoned her through it.
4:09:00 almost everything you theorized since ep 1 was spot on! I'm led to believe you've played this game before lol Yes, pyramid head is James as it's a manifestation of James's guilt. The reason angela and Laura knew about James is the same reason you knew about them. That boss fight when you meet Angela in that house realm was her otherworld. Silent hill if I remember was inspired by h.p Lovecraft. So existential horror. In short, a cult released a God of sorts and any and all who enter silent hill are played with I guess? I'm completely going off by memory here. There's lots of great lore vids on yt about silent hill.
Oh my gosh! It’s been an Honor Hollow, I was SO SCARED to play this when I was younger. Even when I had my Big Brother around, we just couldn’t. And as a 30 something year old myself, I feel like a kid once more. Thanks for playing this game with me Hollow, it’s like watching my Big Brother Again. ☺️ Means A lot.
Hey, thanks for this! Well played, just the bullet hoarding thing lol. Watching your video made me play the original one, to see the differences. Really it's quite the same in general - just more details and further depth. I left most ad's run hope this helps.
Glad to have discovered your channel, had a good time watching. Looking forward to future play throughs and probably going to watch some old stuff too. Have a good one
Thank you for playing this game. I've loved Silent Hill from the start, and part 2 was always my favorite in the series. As such, I was absolutely ecstatic when I heard about the remake. It'll probably be a while yet before I can afford it, as I don't currently have an extra $70 to throw at a video game, but after seeing this playthrough in its entirety, I cannot wait for the day when I finally own it myself.
I have never played Silent Hill, it was first time I saw it. And it's been fantastic experience and story! Keep up the good work Hollow! I really enjoyed
Congrats and beating this game Rey! This game is definitely harder than I expected, and I couldn't even remembered when I played the original Silent Hill 2 in PS2. My brain is already fried (mazes, puzzles, poems, etc), but the emotional part of it is so heavy. For those who need to know. Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 2 are not both sequels together, as they are completely a different story. But they both have interesting, compeling stories. But I personally think that Silent Hill 2 has more emotional baggage on it, than Silent Hill 1. • Silent Hill 1 was the first entry, and it shows how the spiritual power of the town gets corrupted, resulting in the Otherworld you see in all of the subsequent games. You play as a father who finds his daughter missing in a car crash, and wakes up in Silent Hill. Throughout the entire game, you are trapped in your daughter's nightmare and you have to save her before it's too late. As you go deeper into the rabbit hole, you discover that there's a lot of occult elements at play that pertain to your daughter (I won't spoil why) and the politics of the town. • Silent Hill 2 has you playing as an unrelated protagonist (which is very common in horror sequels) and has you going to Silent Hill searching for your wife. However, instead of being trapped in your wife's nightmare, you are trapped in your own. While the cult from the first game still has a looming presence (mainly through memos, symbols, and Pyramid Head), it focuses way more on the history of the town itself and the player character's psychological issues. Areas from SH1 can also be seen on the map, such as the amusement park and South Park, and you encounter the lighthouse from SH1 at one point. There are other connections as well, you just have to pay attention to detail. In a lot of ways, it was the natural evolution of SH1. It is sad that Konami could work alongside with other japanese game developers to make a better Psychological Horror game like Silent Hill than just Fast paced survival horror game like RE Series. Regardless of so many Indie Horror games, no one can beat Silent Hill. Any great psychological, survival horror games needs to be slow paced, yet the meanings, the characters and storylines should also be as deep and related altogether, that you wanting to play more in search for answers, regardless of what ending would you want to be.
@@Unknown_rbnx19 there also connection of this One to 4 in a news paper that we read about Walter Sullivan the main antagonist of Silent Hill 4 The Room.
@@tiagoalves2056 I have not played the 3, and 4 yet but I'm glad that I still have my PS3 console and might need to buy those in eBay along with Silent Hill Homecoming
Thanks for this Hollow. Yeah, to me it seems everything is a metaphor for his depression and the struggle with visiting desolate memories, falling into the dark times, perception of the world and others, the grotesque nature of how others can be and how they use their situation, for example Mary's entrapment in a disease like a cage, as a weapon against him. Artistically a pleasure, and the story evolves in a naturally intriguing way with a wonderful ending.
I just want to say thank you so much for this entire play-through. You too did an fenomenal job, its incredible that you were able to do 4 videos with 2+hours in every video. Still keeping the good humor and entertainment. Bro, im so happy to know there is still people like you in the world! To me, your obvliously the best channel about games. Thx for entertaining us

Some quick lore about the characters that will help you appreciate this game even more than you already do:
Maria: To put it pretty simple, she is a manifestation that the town created, to resemble Mary.
A few people think she's a ghost, but to clear the air on that, one of the original creators, who was also involved in the remake, posted this today x.com/adsk4/status/1845840918039105550?s=46
Eddie: Bullied because of how he looks, to a point where it drove him crazy.
A lot of new things added to it, so definitely wait for new ones.
thank you brother read everything was helpful
@@AdityaSL no problem! Always enjoy helping people fully understand the game because it adds a whole new layer of enjoyment to it 🤘
you are a real one for this, thank you for explaining
@@JasmineM007 you're welcome!!! Ilove Silent Hill lore. Always fun explaining it to first time players :D
Idk but that’s just my theory on that
Hollow... If you think I'm gonna sit here and watch a 4+ hour video of you playing this then you're absolutely 100% correct. Well played, sir.
Hell yes ^^
Please another! Kind sir
Haha 😂 Me too brother. I'll do it in sections, but I can't help myself. Gotta watch me some Hollow...
This silent hill is very amazing, I only played the first silent hill before, but this is very complicated
lmaooooooo
Daaaaamn. I cant play this and but knew it was about guilt and stuff, but damn. How many different endings does this have??
@@bombird8813exactly like what is she talking about
Silent Hill 2's ending wrecked me.
It's an incredibly dark part of the game, and it's the kind of dark imagery that makes this the scariest psychological horror game ever.
is there a shiba ufo ending in the remake?
At 1:56:52 you can see pyramid head just standing there while he goes down the ladder!
I noticed this in my own playthrough, i went back up the ladder to get closer to him and he just scurries off
Yassss not him idly watching him go down! how did he not see that?! I am shocked haha he is probably just so numb at this point lol
@@credzicshare the video lol
BRO THE SECOND I NOTICED I WANTED TO MAKE THE COMMENT AND THE FIRST COMMENT I SEE IS URS LMFAO
They did pyramid head perfectly in the remake. So creepy
Thank you for playing this game until end, Hollow.😢👍
the hole in the wall with items gave me nightmares when i was younger
You're a legend, hope you enjoyed your first Silent Hill!
Some things you did to contribute to the Leave ending you got:
- Healing yourself quickly
- Running down the hallway, when "Mary" berates you, ignoring the manifestation's allure
- Not spending too much time with Maria, and (allowing her to be injured by regular monsters/James)
- (Looking at Mary's letter multiple times (the writing disappears in the hotel))
- Not studying Angela's knife
I believe New Game+ will force a different ending
i thought skipping mary's monologue gave you progress towards the In Water ending no? or am i remembering it wrong
Woah? I did that at the end of the game but still got the Leave ending. I think I might have went almost for In Water.
Jax🤟🏾

Being waiting all day for this video
I was literally waiting for hollows next upload on silent hill. And here it is!! Thank you for this
Same. I was feeling like a drug addict with this series. Got home and no video and started to get nervous.
4:12:51 ballin my eyes out at the end. Thank you for playing this Hollow! ❤
REAL what a sad ass Game
7:25 the prison doesn’t actually exist, it was created from James’ mind, which is why the location and structure of the place makes no sense, the long stairway in the historical society would put you under the lake, not to mention the many holes you jump down too
3:31:18 some of the most haunting music ever created. Akira Yamaoka perfectly captured the emotion here! Glad they kept the original version.
So if that's the game's general theme, it was executed to perfection, to the point of getting bored and tired of killing the same annoying/distorted/kind of sexy and attractive monsters on high heels, and even friends whom you empathize with and betray you, yeet you still understand them and feel for them (Angela, Eddie, Laura, Maria ...)
This tedious feeling is also reinforced with having no progress bars on enemies, or signs that you're actually hurting/killing them (and if they could revive and come back), as in a depressive state, you could be better one day, and then the dark thoughts come back, and motivation for life is lost again, and you have to fight once more against yourself, to get better (sometimes, even the world and people around you makes it harder to go back towards the light, and find your will for life again)
And in the end Pyramid head killed themselves, James isn't the one who killed them (at least not with bullets) but they let him go when he finally get to the phase of acceptance and acknowledgment of his own feelings and past actions, when he demonstrated his will to survive/live, that he should face reality and let go of his wish of control, of changing the past (finding his wife alive), knowing she's dead and he is in fact the one who killed her.
An amazing game! Kudos to Bloober Team for this masterpiece and Hollow for entertaining me these many hours of great gameplay.
This gameplay reminds me of Dantes inferno. It's like James is walking through the 7 layers of hell. Great gameplay BTW
Yes! 🎯💯
Nah fr these comments just give more meaning to the game
Shattered Memories is one of the best Silent Hill games, with the success of this I hope we can expect more game to be revamped.
Hope you’re safe out there Hollow. Many blessings of protection to you and your family!
Currently riding the hurricane out, thank you for doing another video!
OMG didn't expect you'd upload the continuation of the whole game! Thanks for this 4hr long video, it will surely keep me company today🤩
Nailed it 💯🎯
Hey Hollow, I just wanna say watching you really helped me get through college and I watched all your videos as much as I can.
I rly love these videos, i just wish there were less cuts
I love to see other ppl solving these puzzles (i watch these videos after i played through these parts of the game myself) and see them figuring them out
I would absolutely sit through uncut videos, even if it makes the videos double as long!
Angela stabbed her father and burned down the house that
kills the family members (except the mother that left them that is why she was looking for her).
Great remake
True
I love how this man runs around with super low health, tons of healing and ammo for the entirety of this game. Like its impressive but at some point just start blasting stuff, you dont get points for not using everything youve scavenged 😂
You’re literally the best with these fast uploads
Thank you very much for this gameplay, I watched it from the start until the end.
One of the best gameplay channels hands down!!
Totally worth watching all these hours. You get so attached to the stories that it gets hard to see them go and reach the end. What an amazing game! ❤

Excellent playthrough 👏 I have watched several (I am *a tad* obsessed with this game and so excited it’s been remade) - this was one of the best (and best in terms of fighting skill and figuring out the story for a first time player). Thanks for posting 🎉
1:56:52 the way pyramid head is just standing there and he missed it 😭 such a cool detail
Amazing piece of art. ❤
4:09:00 almost everything you theorized since ep 1 was spot on! I'm led to believe you've played this game before lol
Yes, pyramid head is James as it's a manifestation of James's guilt.
Thank you for playing this for us. I've enjoyed your play through!
Super appreciate the speed that you posted this series! Made my day seeing this one out

The random cuts are killingggg meeee. One minute you’re in battle and the next you’re reading a note 😂😂😂 loved the video nonetheless
Silent hill 3 i think is the story sequel to silent hill 1 with Heather Mason
@@tiagoalves2056 It does! I do hope they follow making a remake for Silent Hill 1 and 3, then a new Silent Hill 5 to beyond to come!
@@tiagoalves2056 An open world, slow paced, survival and psychological horror game like Silent Hill would be such an epic to have!
Really appreciate, watched whole series, grt job man . Hope more game would come like this.
2:00 am was still waiting I knew you were going to upload thanks Hollow
What a great journey! thanks for playing this Hollow ❤️ 😢
Thanks for the awesome gaming Hollow! Hope you’re doing good today man
I just want to say thank you so much for this entire play-through. You too did an fenomenal job, its incredible that you were able to do 4 videos with 2+hours in every video. Still keeping the good humor and entertainment. Bro, im so happy to know there is still people like you in the world! To me, your obvliously the best channel about games. Thx for entertaining us
Playthrough was awesome mate as always and you did really well with health and stuff. Did you know there are 8 different endings to this messed up game..
Thank you so much for this series, it made my week !
Thank you so much for playing SH2 remake I really enjoyed it ♥️🫶🏻
You got the good ending ❤️❤️❤️ congrats! Love your channel
Hollow: "This is like a depression simulator"
Me: He finally gets it!
Missed ammo on the bench at 46:09
Apart from that, your gaming skills are beyond compare! Best gamer channel imo.
I never Understood why TheRadBrad has so many more views on his channel, arguably Hollow is much more interactive and enjoyable
@@ArkhamKnight-2007
I don't know TheRadBrad, but it doesn't sound like I have missed anything. 😉
Now we are on the subject, I think Jacksepticeye is way overrated with his 30M+ subscribers. Too hyper to watch(!)
@@drumstick74 I completely agree, been subscribed to Jack since 2014,loved him then because I was still a kid, I was only 8 years old then and the energy and dedication he used to put into his videos were very nice, but now I feel like Hollow is the king of Game play throughs, hes very interactive with the comments, fanbses of the games he plays, and Lore.. and his face cam is just nice to see. theRadBrad has 15Million subscribers but he doesn't really explore that much or ever care too much about the lore. He's like the basic gaming TH-camr you should watch if you want some enjoyable content. But if you want to feel immersed and then watch Hollow
@@ArkhamKnight-2007
Yes, I think Jack is more aimed for kids and young teens.☺ Gotta love his Irish accent, though!
@@drumstick74 completely agree, I feel like too many TH-camrs are available for walk throughs now, and I'm a bit overwhelmed, a decade ago you'd be lucky if you find 3 different channels on a new game uploading on release day, now if there's no daily uploads or 2 hour long sessions people unsubscribe and leave.
Thank you for clearing that up I played 1 and 2 back then but never understood the endings n the whole story now I know much appreciated thank you 😊
I am truly lost for words on how to describe the experience after having watched your whole playthrough! Such an amazing game and the story is really depressing. Wondering whether you'll react to all the other endings in another video
OMG YES!! I just watched the 3rd video, I was so excited for the ending bit, love you hollow for the prompt uploads!! appreciate it sm bro.
glad to be watching some silent hill after work. love you hollow
I am crying :D :(
Amazing. Sad that I am too scared to play it, but thank You for a great time!
