- The Chesapeake Bay has been invaded by blue catfish. They can be found in every tidal body of water in the satte and continue to grow bigger every year. This spring, we have noticed a big push of these fish into the middle Bay and decided to go try for them in water close to home. We anchored up in the West River and it didn't take long before we started getting some big bites. If you fish in the Chesapeake Bay, I encourage you to fish for these blue catfish and remove them from our waters. We all need to do our part to help save the Bay!

I'm from Maryland if I see one I'm going to make some catfish nuggets out of them with some fries and a mountain dew
you need to fish the west river more often love seeing you in my home river
Nice. Seems like the blue cat bite is red hot right now.
Great video you guys, thank you so much . I will share it with my friends
Did you check their stomach to see what they were eating?
Blue cats outside Snug Harbor? For realz?
Yes sir. They were there thick in the spring!
What flour are you using?
are trot lines legal?
Yes I believe they are north of the Bay Bridge
Was just up in the mattawoman in charles county and was catching them back in the creek. They are really everywhere, big problem.
Any good bank fishing area's?
I live in Dover guess I'll head west
How do you bleed them? Do you cut the tail or do you cut the gills? I know both ways work for a catfish thank you and I love your videos.
awesome video
What ramp did you use
I was out at the Port Tobacco River the last 2 days. I caught a couple and a few other guys caught some. Can’t believe how many there are. I swear you can fish any river or creek and catch them.
Are there snakehead down there?
@@user-fo2el6jm7n haven’t caught any out there. But I did catch 2 decent size redfish the last time I was out there. I’m sure they are probably out there. I usually jut head to Mattawoman creek for snakehead though.
@@gonzalomanriquezjr864 Thats awesome! It looks like a great place for them to be, and they are in rivers just near by. Mattawoman has em too. Tight lines
What town is West Creek located??
There isn’t enough baitfish in the bay for all off the predators and pelagic fish to eat. So now Blue cats are problem
hate to break it to you but no amount of sport fishing will have any impact on the blue population at this point. They are far too hardy and plentiful. Nobody has ever been able to manage a blue cat population. Virginia DNR has already done the damage. all we can do now is try to help the shellfish population survive and enjoy them as a fun sport fish.
Great video and some mighty fine vittles there Sir. Keep up the good work
Bro that’s my neighborhood you were in cleaning those fish.
