back in the day the speed run were like 42 hour long, dk 64 was consiter the hardest speed run game just by how long it took, you have to stay up almost 2 day straight and not mess up,

In other words: Risk and reward. The Wii U version is faster, but some skips are significantly harder, at the cost of allowing faster times in the case that you succeed quickly. Guess it just depends on the runner's skill then. Do Wii U if you're ambitious, N64 if you want a higher success rate.

These are the same devs who couldn't figure out a code/software fix for a game breaking bug, so they gave every buyer a hardware fix.
Banjo Tooie and Perfect Dark both came after this, so they weren't totally done with their good games.

Yes you can but it involves a much more difficult method to perform factory early. The current record is actually performed on WiiU VC now.
