Just found your channel tonight and love the journals from the old patterns. My mother passed away over 20 yers ago and made my cloths until I was 12. She kept everything and I moved it all and have it stored. Little by little I have put together some journals together. Now that I am retired I have been looking for new ways to enjoy my collection. Did not think of combining my Golden childhood books in them! Great idea! Hope you keep making journals related to sewing, children’s books and cook books and other vintage items. You did a great job on the video! I like the covers just because I have the things to fill them. I would think most people would want the fully decorated. Toss up really. I use a lot of Julie Nutting paper doll stamps to accent the pages. It is hard to cut up a book I personally had but fun to remember the good times!
Hi Marieta! Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your story! How special!! These journals are such a fun way to celebrate vintage! I don't use my personal vintage books either! Just get second hand ones! 😃 Hope you stick around! 🤗💖💖💖💖
Ok so I’m officially obsessed I went yesterday looking for a pattern envelopes I want to make one of these you’re so inspiring and I absolutely love your work!!
Oh, thank you so much, Lacey!!! Hey, I'm thinking about putting together a little online mini-course (video-based) on how to make one of these from start to finish. Is that something you would buy? Going to start gauging interest in that! Thanks for your feedback, sweetie!! 🤗💕💕💕💕💕
@@sharamckinney575 Hi! It is 88 pages, counting front and back. My traveler's notebooks can be a standalone notebook or a single (big!) insert, so it is one signature. Please let me know if that answers your question! Thank you for leaving a comment!! 🤗💕💕💕💕
AMY!!! I love these. And in pure Brenda fashion, I am sitting here eating my lunch with a pen and paper in my hand. To take notes on my favorite kittidori. ALL of these are absolutely wonderful. I love your style, it is so fun and happy. And the colors! Love those too. I like hearing you talk because you tell the story behind what you chose for the journals and why or the story of that particular paper bit. I enjoy knowing that background. I also enjoy hearing the pages flip too. What is it about that sound?? Love it! Truthfully, I like both options of journals. You always do such a great job coordinating everything. The extra bits from you are great and go so well in the journal. I also like the lower cost journals, because truthfully, some days, the budget is tighter than others, so it gives options. Everything you do is WONDERFUL and we will love whatever you create. My timer is set for tonight! :D
Hey Brenda!! Thank you so much for checking this video out and leaving your thoughtful comments!! So appreciate that!! Curious which is your favorite, if you don't mind sharing! 😃 Thank you again, sweet friend!! 🤗💖💛💖💛💖
@@KittywittyPapercraft So, here is the funny Amy. I would really be happy with any of them. As I was taking notes, I did not realize that I wrote the same number down twice (I was using the pattern numbers to help me out). It did not make sense, so just went back through the video and sure enough, you have two different patterns for #7406 - see 1:43 and 21:48! I think if I had to pick one, it would be the first one and probably simply because it was the first one. You know how that goes. You see the first one and say "OH LOVE IT!" and you continue through and say that about most every one. :D
@@brendafochtman-paperbitsba4003 Yes!! I did 2 with that envelope! One is the more expensive, more decorated one and one is slightly simpler and less expensive. 😉 Thank you for your nice words about my work!! 🤗💖💕💖💕
Hi! I tried following the link under your bio in your instagram account. Where might I find the videos to create the covers, as you have described? Cheers and thanks. Liz
Hi Liz! The video for the sewing pattern envelope covers is actually on my IGTV channel. That is found in my Instagram section, but it is a round icon with 'IGTV' on it that you click. The linktree link just takes you to my TH-cam and Etsy shop. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding it! 🤗💗💗💗💗💗
I love these. So sweet and so different. TFS your creations. Could you please tell me which kit from Little Bindy that the front pocket doily came from. I love it. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you, Neppie!! And I guess it would be helpful if I said what pack they came from! 😂 Most of them came from Pack 10. I did make 1 or 2 journals with a doily from Pack 11. Hope that helps! 🤗💕💕💕💕
Hi Liz. I have looked several times on your instagram account under the IGTV icon, but still can't find the video on how to make the cover. When I look under the IGTV icon there are 7 video's. I watched all of them, but no cover. One was on storage, another on a class, and then some on ephemera. Maybe I 'm still looking in the wrong place. Did it disappear? Thanks
Hi Ronda! I'm so sorry that you went to that trouble! I have taken that video down since that TH-cam video was published. I am working on developing some online courses teaching how I make my journals, and the info from that video will be incorporated into them. I am also struggling with other artists copying my design for these journals exactly and selling them in their shops, so I took that down to try to protect my intellectual property. I hope you understand!! If you want to try to make one for yourself, I'd be happy to answer any questions! Please just let me know! 🤗💗💕💗💕💗
@@KittywittyPapercraft- I totally understand. I just had a few old patterns and I thought I would try to make some for my daughter and daoughter-in-laws for Christmas presents. I have recently bought one of your journals and it should be here in a few days. I can probably figure out how to make one. It won't be as cute as yours but I'll give it a try. Thanks for your response. Ronda

Beautiful as always! On the rare occasions when I find vintage sewing patterns they are in horrible shape lol. Just a suggestion about doing a decorated vs a non decorated journal is to offer a ephemera pack with the more "naked" journals that's what I do! I also like to work on multiple journals at the same time. Anyway just a suggestion. Tfs, Kay💜
Hi Kay!! Thank you!! Yes, it's a challenge to find sewing patterns in good shape that don't cost an arm and a leg! 😂 Thanks for your suggestion. I do include ephemera in the simpler ones, just a little less. What I left out of these is all the fussy cut die cuts and fabric trims! For my Christmas junk journals last year, I did just what you said and it made it more manageable for sure! Thanks for stopping by!! 🤗💕💖💕💖💕
These r super sweet! I like the more decorated ones because you include such cute vintage ephemera with it, especially when its kitties 😻😻 I love the Paige Taylor Evans ones, somehow the paper compliments everything well. I like no music/all talk video to hear your thoughts /ideas...my 2 cents 😉... 💖🦋🌸
I started to watch your videos on these cute journals BUT I cant find how you make the covers? you used the distressed pattern where is that video please/thanks great idea

I am actually planning on setting up my sewing machine this weekend so I can start adding sewing to my journals!

Love these! Absolutely beautiful! How many signatures and pages?
Ok, I heard 88.....does this mean 88 doubled to 176 sides or 44 pages doubled to 88 sides? It kinda looks like a single signature, but not 100% sure?
