Cammed 305 Engine Pro Camshaft .466/.466 290 duration

  • My 81 K10 manual trans, all new top end, heads(ebay pre-rebuilt, Allied Motors), Deepmotor dual plane intake manifold (ebay), Edlebrock carb, 2” 4-hole spacer, Engine Pro cam kit(cam with double chain setup and lifters) .466/.466 lift with 290 duration (ebay)., Summit long tube headers, straight pupe exhaust for now. Very happy with this cam. Used comp cams cam lube and Royal Purple Break- in oil for the initial 30min break in period. Smokes a little because pcv is sucking oil splashing off the rockers. Going to get some baffling or a catch can. Runs great. Tons of torque compared to before. The truck currently has 8” of lift in the tear (4” blocks and free shackle flip), I have new front 8” Skyjacker Softride leafs for the front that need to go on. Will be doing a 3” body lift and 38-42" super swampers soon.

Sounds pretty good for a budget built 305. Gotta love what a matched setup can do; not the best heads, not the biggest cam, not the most cubes, but put together right. Good job.

Building a 305 and looking for a cam and this seems like it makes pretty good power! Love the video and all the information in the description! And that you actually talk to people about your truck!

The head doesn't determine its the valve springs. Theyre the same springs as a 350sbc. This cam is just about the biggest you would want to run with stock springs. The 488 lift cam was the biggest but I took the 466 to be on the safe side. Made a huge difference in the truck and sounds awesome. Exactly what I was hoping for
