Being 18 and no father figure for me personally was tough af because I was already a heavy user of substances. Long story short I spiraled through the years but never gave up- Joey Diaz is old school like my family and reminds me a lot of my pops and his podcasts has helped me tremendously. Whether its the laughs to bring me up or hearing something that gave me insight, or knowledge, I owe this man a big thank you and I dont even know him. Look when Ari spiked Bert with Molly. Bert phoned Joey and told him Ari spiked him and Joey said "ill be there in 10 min's dawg" and he was there in 10 mins. This lowkey got me emotional. I've been hearing this podcast while getting high by lonesome in the middle of the night inside my car or while at work. I quit smoking bc ik i needed to change if i wanted something better and remove the frustration i would get contemplating my future. I signed my marine contract in may after going 2 months without smoking from a previous 5 years of nonstop smoking daily. I'm 22 and watching this just reminds me of what I'm about to do. This podcast is like a friend to me and keeps me company. Pretty good that lees doing this but I'm a bit selfish and wish things would stay they same but the only constant thing is change, thankfully for him its for the better. I feel for joey though

    Joey gives the MOST constructive advice when it comes to not only being a better comedian, but a WORKING one. Comics who are two or three years in should really take this all to heart and listen to more clips like this.

    You can do both if you have the drive, Joey and Rogan both prove that. You don't have a singular pursuit, you have many.

    • @amberhines01
      @amberhines01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They became accomplished in comedy first that's the huge difference. They put all their eggs in the comedy basket in the beginning. Anything else and you will fail at standup. When Joe did news radio he said it destroyed his stand up game.
