As someone who has utilized/practiced this type of advice, I agree with almost everything Chengi says. Everything is ON POINT up until the statement that she says, “however when you are ready and if I’m still available I will still be open to having a relationship with you”... that’s the trap! That’s the part where you leave yourself open to continue to be strung along. It gives him the opening to keep playing the “in and out”, “hot and cold”, games. It leaves space for him to come back after months of having been gone, only to fall right back into the same patterned behavior. Keep your heart safe and don’t give him any more opportunity to play games. Say your peace and close the door. If it didn’t “work” the first time, or the second time, it is never going to work. I personally never give anybody my emotions, if they haven't invested in me emotionally....especially men, they have no problem using it against you. I'm so embarrassed to say I have allowed him to string me along because I have believed that we can work through things but the main things were the way he was treating me and I believe it began lowering my self esteem. I realized this and began loving myself more and expecting to be treated the way I wanted and did not expect less. Then when things hit the fan. I blocked the number 2 times thinking he would wake up, now I am confident within myself to know I have more and I am the prize for someone who really deserves me, and will not allow my time to be wasted it is too precious.

Because if he's stringing you along and he leaves or you leave, getting back together with him will undo all of your good work. It is very important that you BLOCK YOUR DOOR TO HIM FOREVER. I think I let him string me along...he would text me all the time and meet me every Saturday but that was all. He never introduced me to his friends or family, never planned anything with me, never took me to a restaurant or movie...nothing. I thought it would come with time but I’m was just fooling myself because I liked him so much. The day I asked him why not he came with lots of excuses and we ended up arguing. He left and have not heard from him since then. That was 3 weeks ago.

This happened to me. I told him that I was in love. He said that it was too late for us to start any serious relationship because of trust issues. He even added that we won’t get along well if we become a couple and suggested that we should stay friends. Then I replied that I’m done. And funny thing is that I wanted to block him on Facebook buuut he did it first. It’s been 3 months now and I think we are both over it. He was just not the one 🤷♀️
He probably did that because he got pissed at you! You were not willing to let him friend zone you. He wanted to have you waiting in the wings just in case his other plans did not work out with someone else. I did no contact for a month after an 8 year on off again relationship. I’ve let him have all the power. Told him I wanted to reconnect, didn’t like how we left it between us, let me know where your head is at. Tells me he thinks it’s better to leave it alone but he will give it serious honest thought this weekend and get back to me. Told him if he thinks it’s better to leave it be and he’s happier that way, there’s nothing to think about. I’m heartbroken but I’m not waiting on him anymore. I’m not wasting another DECADE with a man who will “let me know”. In one sentence, he said we are over but let me torture you by dragging this out so you either chase and beg me like you’ve done previously OR the option is still there. I have a theory I believe men behave like this due to them getting hurt at a very young age and never getting the counseling they needed to address their feelings of hurt, betrayal, deceitful, dishonest female and so on. So now they go around betraying women because they came to a conclusion this is the way life is so be it. God know the first woman in a mans life is his mother and if not a grandma or an auntie. But rest a sure not that I'm promoting you ladies to play counselor but I bet if you take the time to listen to some of your male friends on their past history you'll be surprised at some of their story's.

I must confess I have done that so many times. I'm in my 30s and never even ever met the type of man I want. (The closest I had come across to a man with qualities I want are married men like RC Blakes. Men with the looks I want, have approached me but they simply dont have the character I can live with). I know men of both character and looks exists and I'm assured I will meet him but so many men have come that I am either not attracted to or they don't have the character and looks I desire. After 30 never had the experience of being in a relationship because I just have never even met anyone I like or has the character I find amazing. At some point you want that practice and go for what is available in terms of attraction/looks even though they are way below standard spiritually and in character so that was why I strung some guys along. I got burnt along the way of doing this bcos I ended up really liking them and they really liked me so breakup was unexpectedly PAINFUL for me

I'm so embarrassed to say I have allowed him to string me along because I have believed that we can work through things but the main things were the way he was treating me and I believe it began lowering my self esteem. I realized this and began loving myself more and expecting to be treated the way I wanted and did not expect less. Then when things hit the fan. I blocked the number 2 times thinking he would wake up, now I am confident within myself to know I have more and I am the prize for someone who really deserves me, and will not allow my time to be wasted it is too precious.

I think I let him string me along...he would text me all the time and meet me every Saturday but that was all. He never introduced me to his friends or family, never planned anything with me, never took me to a restaurant or movie...nothing. I thought it would come with time but I’m was just fooling myself because I liked him so much. The day I asked him why not he came with lots of excuses and we ended up arguing. He left and have not heard from him since then. That was 3 weeks ago.
I had an ex string me along. A year after we were together he talked about putting a ring on it and never did. He also didn't follow thought with many of his plans.

This happened to me. I told him that I was in love. He said that it was too late for us to start any serious relationship because of trust issues. He even added that we won’t get along well if we become a couple and suggested that we should stay friends. Then I replied that I’m done. I've always believed that when a man is stringing you along that is a form of disrespect. Disrespect can take many forms like you asking what his intentions are and he says, "Let's be friends". Told him I wanted to reconnect, didn’t like how we left it between us, let me know where your head is at. Tells me he thinks it’s better to leave it alone but he will give it serious honest thought this weekend and get back to me. Told him if he thinks it’s better to leave it be and he’s happier that way, there’s nothing to think about. I’m heartbroken but I’m not waiting on him anymore. I’m not wasting another DECADE with a man who will “let me know”. In one sentence, he said we are over but let me torture you by dragging this out so you either chase and beg me like you’ve done previously OR the option is still there. I have a theory I believe men behave like this due to them getting hurt at a very young age and never getting the counseling they needed to address their feelings of hurt, betrayal, deceitful, dishonest female and so on. So now they go around betraying women because they came to a conclusion this is the way life is so be it. God know the first woman in a mans life is his mother and if not a grandma or an auntie. But rest a sure not that I'm promoting you ladies to play counselor but I bet if you take the time to listen to some of your male friends on their past history you'll be surprised at some of their story's.

I must confess I have done that so many times. I'm in my 30s and never even ever met the type of man I want. (The closest I had come across to a man with qualities I want are married men like RC Blakes. Men with the looks I want, have approached me but they simply dont have the character I can live with). I know men of both character and looks exists and I'm assured I will meet him but so many men have come that I am either not attracted to or they don't have the character and looks I desire. After 30 never had the experience of being in a relationship because I just have never even met anyone I like or has the character I find amazing. At some point you want that practice and go for what is available in terms of attraction/looks even though they are way below standard spiritually and in character so that was why I strung some guys along. I got burnt along the way of doing this bcos I ended up really liking them and they really liked me so breakup was unexpectedly PAINFUL for me
