I had to smile at David Walliams. The man who is seldom serious was the perfect embodiment of the handsome gentleman. He looked terribly nervous beforehand terrified of putting the wrong foot forward. Heck, I'd be a nervous wreck meeting the Queen as well! She's a real inspiration to me and not coincidentally, I was named after her. And she's such a gracious lady when people get the protocol wrong like the embarrassing incident when Michelle Obama hugged her. Didn't make the Yanks look too smart!
I wanted to know who that perfect gentleman was, was he the one who said "nice of you to come tonight, it means so much to us" ? I thought that was lovely.
And I unfortunately agree with you about the Obama's visit. They really were a great presence in American politics, but were not briefed properly about the protocol when in the Queen's presence, it was embarrassing.

It's indescribable how proud I am on these boys. I mean,.... they sang at the Olimpics games, they were invited in Barack Obama's house, they met the Queen of UK and they recieved so many awards that I've actually stop counting. All their concerts were sold out in a couple of minutes. And we must not forget, they started their career two years ago. My God they really rule the world.... *crying*

Everyone shook the queen's hand with a gesture of full respect and bowed as a symbol of respect to the monarch but not with Amanda Holden.... Play the video again in a slow motion and you'll see what I am talking about... It's not my business but I think she was a bit disrespectful to the owner of that hand.

I love One Direction...I'm quite a bit of a fangirl but I just noticed was that Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli oh my gosh...I thought no one else noticed it...I almost died...All of those star should be super grateful to grace the same stage as Bocelli and Placido

Anyone, no matter who you think you are becomes proper men when meeting the queen for some reason.
A lesson for life my friend. An apology should not be followed by an insult or dig. By doing so, you render the apology obsolete and you won't get far in life with an attitude like that.
