University is basically paying for a diploma, and passing tests during 4+ years to earn it. The education system doesn’t actually want you to remember most of what you learnt, but if you were to need in your professional life a topic which was covered during you school days, learning that topic again will be much faster than the first time. It’s most likely not the best model but it works for most, leaving some people advantaged and others the opposite.

Okay, so I did extensive biostat in grad school, I know how to do "all the math" after 10-12 weeks of doing it, but they did JMP not SPSS, and I am pretty familiar with R studio but haven't used it in a while, I think I am gonna dedicate one weekend to learning the UI for SPSS (Shouldn't take long because I literally only have the UI to learn, I know how to do "all the math" which is the most time-consuming thing). Curious though, is it better than JMP? Can someone who did both know the answer to the question.
