Alien Arena is more along the vein of Quake 3 and 4. I find your comment odd. Don't get me wrong, I played SW Battlefront for a year; I was so addicted to it.
This game runs on the CRX engine, not the Quake III engine. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure NO Quake technology was used to make this game whatsoever.

godsake people stop guesing engine of this game :D i searched it and i was amazed this uses heavily modified idtech 2 :o and if i know right its quake 2 engine thats very impersive and i have instal pack on pc but havent instaled yet ^^ last thing why i downloaded was v7.32 super cool things And so many bots and maps :o thats what i like
lol pretty much stolen from quake lol can u play with something like sniper rifles or assault rifles here? like AUTOMATIC ones?? this semi automatic stuff sux

You need to turn up the settings in the video menu. The game installs on low settings by default for compatibility purposes.

instagib with the sniper lazer thing team or ctf is the funnest thing ever! (in my opinion)

Looks like it uses some UNREAL related engine. I have the game and i must say its quite fun.
