Looks the same as when this Soo-by saw the Alexanders and Smoke play. Good luck, Brantford. Welcome back to the "O."

Pretty limited for now. Bulldogs get a new dressing built out side (opposite of the casino), benches & penalty boxes switch sides, and the current mezzanine gets replaced with a new one that can house camera locations, media seats, OHL operations and team operations. Depending on the success, they may add to the mezz next summer. There is also some work happening in the gymnasium, but not sure if tat was a scheduled upgrade, or included in this.

I grew up playing church league at the Civic Centre, been to the Allan cup with my class in 2008 and watched the Golden Eagles play here the same season where they won the Sutherland cup. My father would tell me about the Alexander’s and I was always jealous that he got to live in a time where he could watch that level of hockey in Brantford. I’ve always wanted an OHL team to play outta here but as a child I was always shot down by skeptics who said that “the civic centre is too small” or “Brantford doesn’t support junior hockey”. At one point it felt like something from a fantasy, something that would never happen and I started to loose faith. Boy, were they wrong! especially with how they’ve already sold out season tickets in a matter of weeks. I can’t wait to rub it in their faces next time I encounter these skeptics who show no hope for the community. Glad the arena is getting a second chance at life and I’m looking forward to seeing the Bulldogs play!

Brantford had ohl before. Selling out tickets once isn’t proof it will survive here

The reason Hamilton’s moving here is for renovations on the current Arena.

Honestly, I rather them upgrade and keep the civic center. The older arenas have more character/ atmosphere and the building has history to it. If they can make the Kitchener Aud work then they can make the Civic Centre work, and the Aud is 15 years older.

It's far from a shithole, but definitely small. If the city wasn't so cheap, they should have added a second level of seats, there is plenty of room around the building to expand it.
