2) If you’re going to do Hockey schools go to the University of North Dakota
PLEASE do more hockey. North Dakota. Minnesota.. Theres some huge Hockey colleges out there. Really appreciate the work put into these videos!

Visit the Army West Point hockey arena, Tate Rink. As well as what they have too. They have a deep college hockey historic program itself. ✌🏻
Growing up in NJ playing, I always felt very lucky to have a program that scheduled 1 game/year against the travel team based out of West Point. Such an honor to play there and an amazing place to just walk around after the games.

Did a billet program when I was growing up in Montreal with kids from around Umass. Got to see them play live multiple times. What an experience and remember going for the first time thinking Americans like hockey??? I drop by every time I’m back in Massachusetts.

This is a really cool video. I love hockey. I don't begrudge these student athletes for getting to use this facility. I can't help but think of the astronomical cost of college compared to when I went 20 years ago. We have some messed up priorities in this country.
I was at that Denver game. By the time we won, we had blown the lead, I was so tense, I went to Matignon '82 so have had enough OT hockey for a lifetime, I went next door to the casino and watched the OT on my phone playing video poker. Next day Hobey Baker then the beat down by the skating trees of Minn Duluth. I hauled myself from Houston to Buffalo for my first FF.

yeah duh. You can say the same about most D1 Football programs compared to the NFL. most of these players on this team, won't touch the NHL, so you have to make your program a wanted designation for students.. Players in the NHL don't chose teams because of their facility, they go to where they can win, and have the most success, not to mention they are getting paid by the NHL organizations, and NCAA students aren't.
@@jleif7736 Heck it's the same with D1 baseball and basketball. Many of these locker rooms way better than MLB and NBA locker rooms.

North Dakota has by far the best facilities of any program not only in the ncaa but in the world

Lot of people whining about how this was funded... uh did you miss the philanthropy part? UMass Hockey over the past 5 years has certainly won the favor of alums and donors, who tend to kickback money leading to stuff like this. I mean they won a National Championship 2 years ago, which would've been unheard of Pre-Carvel.
Worcester dining hall at UMass runs out of utensils and plates. Literally more than half the time we use paper plates and plastic utensils. The fountain drinks also have all been cut with water. Thanks for the hockey though.
Well....if students wouldn't walk out of a DC with plates,the DC wouldn't run out....
@@katk9484 We both know that's not the reason. People walking out with plates every so often doesn't stop them from providing us with dinnerware. They just don't wanna hire more people to work the dish room, ask any of the staff and they'll let you know. We got an extra couple thousand new freshmen this year, enough to literally crash the housing portal last year and force students to cram 3 people into doubles, so they're not short on cash. I'm willing to bet that they're just trying to recuperate losses from covid by cutting spending.
@@aguy8210 quit fooling yourself, a DC employee was just assaulted last few days bc they tried to stop students from taking dishware bc they recognize its a problem. Has nothing to do with staffing
@@katk9484 Okay cool, go ahead an ignore the rest of my valid points, I don't mind. Lets say administration believes stealing dishes is the problem. How widespread of an issue is this that you could rationalize it being okay to provide the entire student body, thieves or not, with inadequate service? Are dozens of dishes being stolen? Are hundreds? I haven't heard of any employee being assaulted over dishes, so I'd genuinely appreciate it if you could provide a reliable source to back this claim as this is hard to believe news.
Either way, if the administration cites missing plates as the reason why a university with billions of dollars doesn't increase security for stolen property, replace stolen property, or hire an extra guy to wash dishes (which is what not only myself but multiple staff members say is going on), then something else is going on here.
This isn't even me being spoiled, it's me defending the thousands of dollars I'm giving to the university for "#1 dining". We can agree that the dining is one of the major selling points the university itself uses to gain interest from prospective students.

Meanwhile the classroom buildings at UMass are full of asbestos, mice, and black mold. Someone shit in front of the elevator in my building 2 weeks ago and no one has cleaned the stains off the floor yet.

Fwiw, I've driven to almost every away game venue in hockey east and several New England non-HE rinks for their games and I made the trip to Pittsburgh.
Its called PERSPECTIVE
You look at the last 10 games, I look at the last 30 years.
You want to knock Coach Carvel, his staff and the program they've built, go right ahead but I recognize that it takes a good solid stretch of games for a young team to gel and actually play well. They've had a strong schedule to date so if they're at .500 I'll call that a win, you DONT get ranked 13/14 nationally by "losing"
@@katk9484 hey I love this team and coach carvel I’m a very loyal fan too but it’s no secret the boys have a lot of work ahead of them in the coming weeks with some very good matchups they are not winning right this moment I have faith that come playoff time they won’t be written off yet
