I Looked through your posts watched a bunch and subscribe. Then Tried to find a song that I liked that you haven't reacted to yet, witch was harder than I thought. May I suggest Nathan Evan's version of the song "Wellerman", it's a short simple song.
Seeing this song performed live is a great treat. In the Disney Princess Medley, the women shine. In this one, you see how insanely talented their men are. Jamey Ray (the "Go The Distance" soloist) is the founder and arranger for the group. How do they get the right voices for each song? He writes all parts in their songs for each person. He knows the voice and the blend and can do it masterfully. I am always saddened when I think about their popularity in comparison to PTX, Home Free and VoicePlay. I love all of them but it's no secret where my heart lies.
I am so glad you got back to Voctave. They have a couple new releases; One Short Day (Wicked), I am What I am with the Swingles and On a Clear Day with Titus Burgess. I would also suggest; O Holy Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, Mary Did You Know (solo by the writer of the song), Where Are You Christmas, We Need A Little Christmas and Carol of The Bells. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, Be Prepared is Scar's signature song from Lion King. Jamey is amazing at tailoring the arrangements to use each vocalist to their most epic perfection... And this song is a perfect complement to their Disney Princess Medley, where the ladies were featured. Here, the guys all get a chance to shine in their own right. I love the counter-balance.
Probably my favorite from Voctave and I was fortunate to watch them do this piece live. I don’t know where you’re located right now, but check their web site. They are currently doing their Christmas tour. You HAVE to see them live.
Maggie what a great reaction. As you requested every member of Voctave has a solo in their sensational Somewhere from West Side Story. Take a listen, they are sensational. Jamie Ray their founder and sole arranger watched the new movie. He realized there were 11 phrases in the song and 11 members in Voctave. So he wrote a solo for each of them. I think perhaps their best performance. PLEASE REACT TO IT !!!
So last night Voctave was supposed to sing a concert at Victory Church in Lakeland, FL. DAY OF, the church cancelled their performance because they discovered that some of the members were part of the LGBTQ+ community. Hundreds of people had purchased tickets and found out that day that the concert was cancelled. Voctave in all their graciousness posted a very gracious and kind message on the FB page. I have 2 friends in the group and Kate's husband and I used to perform together at Disney so that's what happened. I would love to see you react to their tribute to Celine Dion with To Love You More. They are great and the soloist is amazing. Happy Holidays Maggie! Hugs from Indianapolis!
I saw the same post on Facebook... I would love nothing more than to host them in our church in Ohio (where we are a truly welcoming UU church). Unfortunately, I don't think there would be any way to make it profitable... We're a tiny church with only 50-60 members and seating for roughly 70 people in our sanctuary... We have some pretty amazing acoustics and a two-of-a-kind pipe organ, but probably too small to make the trip worthwhile.
@Maggie Renee How do they find the right voices for these songs? Most of them work for Disney, that's how. The majority of Voctave is part of a Disney A Capella Group called "Voices of Liberty" that sings at Disney World. So they are quite familiar with most of the Disney songs. Also, Aaron Stratton was Gaston for the Beauty and The Beast Live Show at the Hollywood Bowl some years back. It wouldn't surprise me if what he was wearing during "The Mob Song" was his actual Gaston Costume from that show. And then there's EJ Cardona. He was the voice of Quasimodo for the Seattle Stage Production of Hunchback of Notre Dame where the physical actor was deaf. They actually won an award for their performance so, yeah, you just witnessed an Award Winning Performance honed to perfection backed by even more perfection. This version of "Out There" was nothing more than a pure flex for EJ Cardona. Also, he he held that last note for, I think, 26 seconds, but his breath lasted something like 29 seconds. EJ Cardona is UNREAL!
@@ForeverDegenerate - Fun Fact: Both Kurt and Aaron played Gaston in Disney World's Beauty & The Beast stage show. At that time, they were the 2 full-time Gastons. Today, Kurt's husband Zach occasionally subs for the Gaston role in that same show.
I always suggest Voctave to other reactors I see reacting to Acapella groups. For some reason they just won't do it. It's frustrating to me because I think that this group is the best there is. I love Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voice Play, but I've always felt that Voctave took it one step further.
I enjoyed your reaction a lot and am glad you did this one because otherwise I'd have missed out on that amazing piece of art! So thank you for that! I especially always love it when musicians react and show what note exactly we're hearing at some point, for I'm really bad with music theory (have tried several times throughout my life and failed every single one of them haha) but always curious about those details! ♥ Little "BUT": I was looking for the link to the original in your video description to go show my support over there directly as well... Have I missed the information or did you forget to add the link? :O That'd be too bad, those awesome people deserve our direct support as well ;)
5:43 - And THIS is why I love watching your vids, Maggie - your reactions are so genuine and funny. 😍😍😍😍👎👎👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣 And that is excluding the fact that yourself is a talented opera singer.
4:16 - I've watched Disney's Hercules (granted - it totally butchers the OG story) but I'm still awestruck just as Maggie how good the lead singer covers it and STILL makes it his own song 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍🔥🔥 Kudos to the band for being so awesome. Oh, and btw - I love the "butchered" story - only coz of Dany De Vite (aka - Phil) and Danny Glover (aka - Hades) - the two BEST VA of this Movier. (honorable mention to "Megara" - ver VA was also good)
What should I react to next?! Sponsor a reaction on my channel here: www.maggierenee.com/book-me/sponsor-a-reaction-live
I would love to see a reaction of Voctave's _O Come All Ye Faithful._

Need a high tenor? Call a Cardona. Both brothers are awesome.😊

I can't believe they did " Be Prepared "!
I think you'd really enjoy Voctave's performance of "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen. It's a real feel good treat!

My favorite is she started singing in her head the last note and ended opened mouthed at how incredible the hold was.
They are incredible. ❤🎶❤😊
YAY!! I wasn't sure this one would make it to the main channel, at least not this quickly. Christmas came early this year! 😁
Try voctave prince of Egypt melody
Check out their Disney Lullabies medley.

That was so good! I love Voctave! Thank you for supporting them!💜💜💜
You *don't* know Be Prepared?! One of the greatest villain songs ever?! Shocked. Shocked I tells ya.

Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in FL, not the Hollywood Bowl venue in LA.
@@jasonkim2739 Huh. Could have swore it was in LA. Oh well.
