Hi, @David J Hall! Believe me, if you continue to watch and listen to her, you will come to realise that this day is one of the most emotionally important in your life.
Thank you for returning to Angelina. Your reactions to her performances are always worth watching. The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
She is unique. I don't know who her parents are but 90% her grandfather is Elvis Presley. God bless you girl( as you are), Always stay away from troubles. Love from Valbona from Albania.
Excellent reaction, EB! Nice that you'll find room for music (Angelina in particular 😂😂😁) on THIS channel as well. I really love your style of reacting. I guess when you said Lisa Marie, you actually meant Priscilla. I'm looking forward to your next Angelina reaction! Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
What a wonderful reaction and comments EB. Glad you picked up on all her subtle tributes to Elvis...this girl is all class all the time. New Sub here EB. Appreciate your knowledge of what has been done here by the musical genius Angelina. Very enjoyable to watch. BTW, TrOLLs are here as well...please do not answer them and just Block. Cheers, stay well.
The beehive hair was a nod to Priscilla Presley and I believe the black leather and red guitar was a nod to Elvis himself as it was what he was wearing on his comeback performance.
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 83 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html 🙂
She's Priscilla .. who almost always wore her hair like that. The three little ones would represent Lisa Marie. Two are her young cousins .. and the 3d one is her little sister Juliette. She is really showing her own energetic in this song and I think it's fabulous. As if he did the male version of the song about their relationship and she did the female version of the song about their relationship. Both great.
I like to think that all the greats from decades past, got together in heaven and poured all their talents into Angelina. She re-imagines classic songs like this one, providing a new way to enjoy the song. I will go back to watch Elvis's version when in the mood for his remarkable performances but we have to appreciate Angelina for bringing a whole new feeling to this song. The greats in heaven, thank her for keeping their music alive as no doubt, people who don't know the original song will most likely check it out after hearing Angelina.
Absolutely phenomenal performance from our barefoot Viking , Cover of a Cover as the original artist Mark James who wrote and recorded Suspicious Minds didn’t achieve with his original, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her Managers children, the eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma Mery Zamani who is a talented artist and poet, the pianist is two times Grammy winner Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with at the age of 14 years old, Angelina is paying tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and her red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, great reaction thanks 🙏
Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it’s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance? I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. Just my interpretation but it makes the most sense to me. ♥👣👸🏻
Beehive hairdo like Priscilla Presley had. This is a relationship song. The girls in white dresses represent Angelina Jordan's growth, physically and artistically. They are her tiny cousins and her sister. Mery Zamani is Angelina Jordan's grandmother who you saw listed as artistic director in the beginning before the piano. I love how Angelina's approach opened up the story and its truth. Yes, the emotion. In an interview after the FIFA awards, Angelina announced that her first single (long awaited album coming) drops in April. Thanks for the drive through. Grandma Ellen, Springing ahead tonight.
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
Yes it sure is! I have been following her evolution for many years, And she is continuing to blossom into a beautiful and soon to be international star. If you haven't followed her since 8 years old, there are well over 100 performances on TH-cam that you can check out on her official and cover channels. They're at all different ages as her career has been documented by her grandmother and others along the way. Enjoy and stay in touch with her career as it will be a wonderful ride hopefully. She was sucking by Republic Records about 3 years ago and has her first album of originals coming out this fall accompanied by a world tour. A new single comes in April.
I love how Angelina comes in strong and how indeed you feel the emotion of the song. Her melancholy makes you feel the toxicity of the relation where love is being destroyed by distrust. Elvis performed it magnificently but it didn’t give me the feeling he was very distraught being caught in a loveless trap. Time seems to be a theme in the video. You are right that there is a lot of imagery from Elvis period of time. Additionally she comes in and uncovers beautiful pieces from the past and brings them into the present just like she does with the song. Finally her cousins and her sister seem to represent her growing up into the present. Beautifully sang and beautifully portrayed, thanks and keep it up! :-)

She did quite a few songs from Elvis Here's a playlist with her other Elvis covers, some at different occasions: th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCqqoHOYhod17xQMWcX75sWW.html She stayed closer to the.original with earlier ones though.
Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another amazing Angelina performance - this time transforming a well known Elvis hit into an emotional ballad which allows us to clearly hear - & feel - all her lyrics. This was definitely a family production - the Executive Producer Mery Zamani is Angelina grandmother, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins & the older girl is Angelina's sister Juliette. It's also a great tribute to Elvis - Angelina's beehive hairdo is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley & the black leather jumpsuit & red Hagstrom guitar are just like those used by Elvis in his Comeback Tour. Looking forward to more of your Angelina reactions (& appreciate it if you could set up a separate playlist for her). Still recommend all 4 of her Norway Got Talent performances - starting with Gloomy Sunday. Also a couple of more gems while she was still only 8 - What A Difference A Day Makes & her US debut on The View singing Fly Me To The Moon. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

The hair is like Priscilla, the outfit including the guitar are the same as what Elvis wore in his comeback I think (not totally sure) 1968. Blessings from South Africa
I'm not usually a fan of deconstruction, but Angelina and pianist/co-arranger Rob Christie have created such subtlety and emotion with this arrangement that I can't help but fall in love all over again with her miraculous voice. Great reaction, EB! I'm heading over to EB Reacts to check out your Mercy reaction, but thought I'd recommend Angelina's original 7th Heaven, live from summer 2022: th-cam.com/video/_Bo88l1aFDI/w-d-xo.html
… ELVIS and ANGELINA... my absolute favourites!! … What a great tribute to the King! Elvis would be honored and speechless 😮!! … I can't even describe how incredibly good these two are!!… Phenomenal!! ✨💎✨ 🕺🏻🎸🕯Thank you
A couple of more 'touchstone' observations; the red-velvet 'Kings' throne behind her is empty, and, her pianist is dressed as Elvis' 'comeback' band back in the day. Pianist is also her Republic Records 'A&R' man, Rob Christie, he of Grammy-winning chops.
In many of Angelina's covers, she will pay tribute to the artists of the songs she covers. In this one, she is extending homage to Elvis. She also does her arrangements or, at least, has very much input into the way her music is done. In this case, she departed from Elvis by slowing the tune down and singing it in a way the lyrics actually ask for. Elvis covered it like the original, a virtual pop "dance" tune, although the lyrics are a sad, emotional and heartbreaking tale of an impending breakup and lost love. Angelina sings the song as it should be performed. This was Elvis's last number one song. In this video she is dressed as Elvis was in his " '68 Comeback Special" TV program. Leather from top to bottom. Her hair is done up in a "bee hive" style that Elvis liked his wife Pricilla to wear. The red guitar is a contemporary Hagstrom reproduction of a 1967 Viking II. Elvis had borrowed it from Al Casey, one of the session musicians of the Comeback Special band. Although Elvis never owned it, the original guitar recently sold at auction for over $600,000. The piano and mic are like the ones in the Sun studio in Memphis, where Elvis started his recording career. The piano player is Rob Christie, a top studio exec at her label, Republic Records. He is dressed in the same garb as the '68 Special bandmembers were in that broadcast. The young girl(s), Angelina's relatives, are a nod to Elvis's and Pricilla's kid, Lisa Marie, may God love her soul. The last segment of the children shows Angelina's sister, Juliette, as a 9 year old Lisa Marie. That was how old Lisa was when her dad died. Many reactors guess that the children in this video denotes Angelina growing up, but all the symbolisms is about Elvis and not Angelina. There is a short segment of Angelina reposing on a couch. She is wearing what look like mismatched shoes. One is blue suede, yes? Many of the antique shop artifacts, particularly the old red fabric chair in the background seem "fit for a king". The artistic production may have been by her executive producer and grandmom, Mery Zamani. Mery is a well known artist from Iran who had her hand in other Angelina artwork, including the outfit Angelina wore on "AGT the Champions" show, and the artwork on Angelina's first original Republic video "Million Miles - lyrics version". With a little help from her friends (and family), Angelina is leaving a profound legacy in the world of music and art. She is "ASTAR", literally and figuratively.
She now has eight originals, five (co-) written by her, three written for her. Here is a playlist of all of them, with her self-written ones done on several occasions: th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCows3lQAxFixqTj_rFbGFLM.html The latest addition was the 'The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022' official song, 'We're The Best', performed life in Paris last week, and broadcasted worldwide. Unfortunately with some technicall issues on the audio. But that song is also somewhat untypical for her work, so maybe start with Million Miles, her first sing released with Republic Records wegen she was 14, also available live in concert from last summer.
Great reaction! But I think you mistook Lisa Marie (Elvis' daughter who recently passed away) for Elvis' wife Priscilla. She's the one who wore the beehive hairdo and made it popular in the late 60's. Also, the black leather jumpsuit is reminiscent of Elvis' jumpsuit in his 1968 televised Comeback Special. There is so much symbolism here surrounding Elvis' mid-career and Angelina's up-and-coming career! It was masterfully produced -- and, yes, it is indeed elegant as Angelina is!
I'm the guy who recommended you watch S01E01 of the UK version of Coupling. Even if you don't react to it watch it as I am sure you will fine it funny.
I made an error. I was thinking Lisa Marie since she recently passed and back in the day she wore her hair the exact same way. You're right 100% though on her going with the Pricilla look.
Your mom would not appreciate what you're doing. People, be aware this person suffers from autism and does not know what he is doing. HIs mom reached out to all of us to not engage this poor soul. 🙏🙏🙏
James’s mother (J Jack in this instance, same) has informed us that he is on the spectrum and as such we should not take his posts too seriously..he struggles with the norms and intricacies of acceptable behaviour and so we must understand him from this perspective.
She's ok, but finishing with wahwahwahwahwah up and down in 3 accords does not sound ok in my ear. Wasted potential. She should sing clear and clean. You should check out Morgan James. She is one of the best singers of this time.
Oh dear yet another singer that copies the Mariah Carey painful yodel (melisma) with a hint of vibrato. You can't pay me enough to endure this. I'm out!
Tastes differ, thank God. Otherwise the world would be boring and grey. I can't get enough of Angelina Talent. Good for me and good for you is that you never have to listen to Angelina's again and not have to write such a disrespectful comment. WHERE DO YOU HEAR MARIAH CAREY??? 🤗🤗
Something tells me, outside of this cover, from what I've heard from Angelina Jordan, Mariah Carey has a trick or two as far as singing goes. She has nowhere close the talent that this young lady has. I LOVE Mariah Carey's music but vocally as far as what she's able to do, she can't do what this lady does.

The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister.
If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html
🙂
The leather pays tribute to Elvis, the hair pays tribute to Priscilla, his wife. That's how she wore her hair for years.
This production is as close to perfect as it could possibly get. Nice reaction, thank you!
Nice cover version the song originally was by Mark James
WOW! Is this the same lady whose been singing on TH-cam since she was a little girl?
Yes it is she 14 now
Yes it sure is!
@@brucehenderson7397 She is 17
@@brucehenderson7397 She was 16 in this video, and turned 17 on Jan 10th.
AJ and Elvis - the two greatest in my lifetime !!!
Great reaction to a beautiful cover of Mark James’s Suspicious Minds..checking out Mercy now..
My favourite cover of last year .Went straight on my playlist.
Love it. Thanks
Hello / Hello Mr. Electric Beard TH-cam Music Host... Very Kind Music Review / We Love your Rose on your Cloths Too / Ms. Angelina Jordan is so Elegant!!! She did quite a few songs from Elvis Here's a playlist with her other Elvis covers, some at different occasions: th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCqqoHOYhod17xQMWcX75sWW.html
She stayed closer to the.original with earlier ones though.
I don't think I've seen you react to a music video before, and what a start to pick our angel Angelina. Bravo.
Awesome reaction, God Bless!

Spot on!
Very nice reaction....
Thank you very much 💖🇫🇮
I'm not usually a fan of deconstruction, but Angelina and pianist/co-arranger Rob Christie have created such subtlety and emotion with this arrangement that I can't help but fall in love all over again with her miraculous voice.
Here is a playlist of all of them, with her self-written ones done on several occasions: th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCows3lQAxFixqTj_rFbGFLM.html
The latest addition was the 'The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022' official song, 'We're The Best', performed life in Paris last week, and broadcasted worldwide. Unfortunately with some technicall issues on the audio.
But that song is also somewhat untypical for her work, so maybe start with Million Miles, her first sing released with Republic Records wegen she was 14, also available live in concert from last summer.
Took a while to get going, but I'm glad I stuck with it. made me smile 😀
Cheers
Did you know why she never use shoes when she is singing? ....is a beautiful story about it
In your video at 5.08s she is without shoes also.

Epic!
Somehow she just does it so different but I can still hear Elvis in it...She made it her own but kinda kept the king in it:)

Hello can you please react to “SIAL by Mahalini” . Its a really good song with unique vocal tecnique and you had to listen to it!! Thank you!
I'm the guy who recommended you watch S01E01 of the UK version of Coupling. Even if you don't react to it watch it as I am sure you will fine it funny.
Priscila, not Lisa Marie.
That must have been Gracelands storage shed . When he got tired of looking at something , he'd toss it in the shed .
different take!
i love your reactions man, but you are my age. confuzzeling lisa marie and pricilla? with confidence and attitude? not a stellar one m8...
I made an error. I was thinking Lisa Marie since she recently passed and back in the day she wore her hair the exact same way. You're right 100% though on her going with the Pricilla look.
Are you serious, you're going to bore us with this karaoke singer when there is so much talent on TH-cam to react to
Your mom would not appreciate what you're doing. People, be aware this person suffers from autism and does not know what he is doing. HIs mom reached out to all of us to not engage this poor soul. 🙏🙏🙏
SAD TROLL ALERT
James’s mother (J Jack in this instance, same) has informed us that he is on the spectrum and as such we should not take his posts too seriously..he struggles with the norms and intricacies of acceptable behaviour and so we must understand him from this perspective.
@@claudest-gelais8456 Very strong and brave of her to let us know. I pray for him and her as well...🙏🙏🙏

it was ok, but I would sooner listen to the Fine Young Cannibals' or Elvis versions.

She's ok, but finishing with wahwahwahwahwah up and down in 3 accords does not sound ok in my ear. Wasted potential. She should sing clear and clean. You should check out Morgan James. She is one of the best singers of this time.
mehh, alright i suppose, my tunes better 😂

@@TheEclecticBeard Agree, ridiculously lame comment...A Troll.

I can't judge that, I don't know your talent but I strongly doubt it for obvious reasons.
You were never in, buhbye.
Troll
Something tells me, outside of this cover, from what I've heard from Angelina Jordan, Mariah Carey has a trick or two as far as singing goes. She has nowhere close the talent that this young lady has. I LOVE Mariah Carey's music but vocally as far as what she's able to do, she can't do what this lady does.
@@TheEclecticBeard These are the usual Angelina TROLLs EB....just block these morons as other sincere reactors do. This is more than likely the same TROLL with different YT handles...these idiots are quite easy to spot...not the brightest lightbulbs in the pack. Do not answer them...just block.
