  • My amazing and talented wife Lisa is releasing her new book Radical Confidence, which you can preorder - and get the bonuses she’s created for you - at www.radicalconfidence.com. When you read this book, Lisa will teach you 10 No-BS Life Lessons to become the hero of your own life and take MASSIVE bold action to achieve your potential!
Are you feeling you are lacking motivation or are unsure how to achieve your goals? Then head on over to unstuck.impacttheory.com. There you can register and get access to a free workshop.
When you consider the amount of stress and global crises going on, there’s no wonder why people are stressed, overly anxious and struggling with confidence. Whether the pain you experience in physical or mental and emotional in nature, you’re looking for relief and a way to find peace and mental equilibrium while crushing your goals in life.
Self -hypnosis is a drug-free, highly effective, “style of concentration not a therapy” says Dr. David Spiegel. It’s about cognitive flexibility that allows you to solve problems in a way that helps you gain control and maximize your focus and concentration. Dr. Spiegel is the Director of the Center on Stress and Health who specializes in hypnotherapy. He’s joining Tom and discussing cognitive restructuring through the lens of hypnotherapy.
Still not sure about hypnosis? Witness Tom get hypnotized and describe his experience.
“If you can measure it it’s science, everything else is poetry”
    -Dr. David Spiegel
    SHOW NOTES:
0:00 | Introduction Dr. David Spiegel
    1:03 | What is Hypnosis?
    6:50 | The Hypnotized Brain
11:32 | Physical Control in Hypnosis
18:44 | How the Hypnotic State Works

27:33 | How Hypnosis Helps You
    39:30 | Are You Hypnotizable?
    51:00 | Tom Gets Hypnotized
    QUOTES:
“Where people make a big mistake about hypnosis is they think it’s about losing control. It’s actually a powerful means to gain control.” [3:00]
“You’re worrying less about what else you might be thinking about, and you’re allowing your executive control network to more strongly connect with your body. So, it’s a state of highly focused attention…” [8:11]
“You may not be able to control what’s making you anxious, but you can control how your body’s feeling, you can control how your body is reacting to the stressor.” [18:11]
“We don't see medication as necessarily being bad in the same way that we have with hypnosis [...] but it's still around because there's something powerful and helpful about.” [22:51]
“Being open and accepting [and] concentrating very intently is a good learning strategy.” [26:44]
“Providing intense emotional support can help people help their bodies cope with even a very serious illness.” [50:51]

I'm a hypnotist , I mainly work with athletes for increased performance. My second child was delivered via a hypno home birth. I have seen some amazing things done with hypnosis outside the realm of performance. You have heard many times that perception is reality...with hypnosis we can change our perception of our past experiences.

Recently started getting hypnosis and it was magical. Took it for my codependent behaviour and my relationship with food. It doesn’t change you. It’s like internal make up it enhances what you already have.

I've been using sleep hypnosis for about 2 months now to help my anxiety and ruminating thoughts from an abusive narcissistic ex wife. It has been a miracle for me. I have really been taking my life back. (We have a daughter together so I still must interact with her) She knows how to push my buttons and be manipulative. I have finally found a way to be indifferent and remain calm. Hypnosis is really all about changing your subconscious programming and deleting old programs with new ones.

    Hills I will die on:
    - Men and women have different roles in society.
    - Having children is a blessing.
    - Masculinity is good, and femininity is beautiful.
    - Lack of strong male role models is #1 issue of our time.
    What are yours?

    • @Di4B7O
      @Di4B7O 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

All thought & meaning is relative to ones experience all perspectives are valid from the sense of ego (your own sense of self your reality is structured upon) it may be seen as a strong sense of faith to die on a hill for your beliefs but from another point it may seem interly meaninglessness to give one's life over a belief or any ideology ( but from an interly relative point of view for the human race at this moment the number 1 cause of death is cardiovascular disease so ide considering dropping the belief about male role models be ing the 1 greatest issue of our time especially considering where in a pandemic & the unhealthy we are as a race the more of us who will drop like flies in a sense you could tie it to your old belief & understand that one the many problems of said cardiovascular disease is that we will loose countless lives 1 every couple seconds on average imagine how many of those said strong male role models are dropping like flies also suicide rates are 1 every 30 seconds another thing to consider in regards to the greatest issues of our time...

20:39 Does Svengali come to mind? Do movies that portray hypnosis as evil, play a part in the negative notions? Stage hypnosis hasn't helped. Stage hypnosis is just for entertainment but, people can't understand that. They don't want to see themselves dancing and clucking like a chicken under mind control. Which is the idea of people who are not educated about hypnosis
