This is a great build. I love this build using the strategic, if they cannot kill you cheese it with objectives. I have run a Mc75 as the tank and Mc80 as the support. I used Sato and rouge squadrons to act as long range spotters for the Sato dice.
An interesting fleet, but is Leia really the best choice for it? Sure she can make your engineering commands better, but for a minor drop in tankiness one could take Garm instead. He’ll give you one engineering token to power up your engineering on a critical turn, but could also give flexibility with a few other tokens for use at other critical points while also saving points for a better bid or a few more upgrades. I suppose it isn’t as completely engineering focussed as Leia would be, but a little more flexibility is also worth considering in my mind. Fun build anyway!
I agree. Garm was my first thought as well. He gives the MC80s possibly two turns of 10 point repair commands in addition to tokens for Nav and CF, as opposed to Leia's four (you're probably not repairing in the first or second round). Redemption gets less benefit, but still gets two/four tokens out of the deal. If you put Ahsoka on the Redemption, she would let you exchange a different token for Engineering if you really need even more emergency repair.
We have House rules.. for scenarios like VIP etc.. Imperials Intercept a Fuel Tanker.. blockade runs... we use Mobquet Medium Transport from Mels Miniatures. www.shapeways.com/shops/mel_miniatures?section=Armada+Ships&s=0
Love the promos! Ran a MC80 against a SSD and blew it up. Don't go too tanky as I've never got a lot of damage out on these builds and scores stay too close.
When RITR comes out, Doomed Station will be a better blue objective in this build. Keep the station moving along with the fleet towards the gravity rift and it can actually heal hull points as an additional benefit. 😁
It is a good build.. mine is somewhat similar but a tad different. x2 MC-75 and x1 Pelta. Leading MC-75 Eng. Captain, Ordinance Experts, ECM, APT's, Enhanced Armament, Leading Shots and Aspiration. Behind or adjacent (Depends if you are going straight at them then turn for broadside.) Gen. Dodonna, Major Derlin, Ord. Experts, ECM, APT's, External Racks. The Pelta is a Support Ship for the two fighting.... with, Taryn Farr, Projection Experts, and Shields to Maximum. Fighter support of Rogue Sqdrn, and x2 Awing. if the Imperials are flying a SSD with Annihilator, Quad Laser Turrets, Point Defense Re-Routes, Agent Kallus, Leading Shots, and Linked Turbo Laser Towers.. maybe a couple Gazanit for engineering boosts..for any damage. My Anti Squadron SSD (AP) Piett, Emp. Palpatine, Agent Kallus, Dmg Cntrl Officer, Gunnery Team, Point Def Re-route, Quad laser Turrets, Leading Shots, Linked Turbo Laser Towers, Annihilator Title. With x2 Gazanti with Comms Net. x2 Tie Interceptors and Black Squadron. ran Targeting beacons, Planetary Ion Cannon, and Superior Positions. The SSD is still like a Cymoon + from the front and with Gunnery teams still very dangerous with x3 attacks. If the SSD does Engineering every turn if damaged, it can literally repair I believe about 6 shields or at least a couple or more Damage..... While it tries to blow apart everything in its way. and the Annihilator this version is what I would call a AAA platform.. lethal against squadrons.... Every time it is attacked, you have to consider, Palpatine, QLT (counter attack).. then when it does attack Squadrons.. it has many re-rolls.. and can hit at Long and Medium Range.. before your squadrons possibly even get to it.
Tried a modified version of this fleet with the loaded mc80 and two mc30 torpedo with the mc title and it worked well, just kept hitting ISDs at distance, made them come to me, then had APT torpedo frigates spring into action. I found that the 80 made them chase me and come in close and the torpedoes dishes out punishment point blank. At that point even if I lost the 80 my torpedoes would mop the damages ISDs up quickly.
I recently used Redemption with Raymus and Projection Experts to compensate for a Liberty not having def retrofit. Having a forward firing ship along with the neb was nice. I'm a fan of mc80 H1 though, might need to try this combo.
I've just started to watch your videos, and i want to thank you for clarifying bascially everything my friends and I have had some questions on regarding rules and how the game is played!
Hey man, love your videos. They got me into armada after I came across them and convinced me to get a core set and them purchased an interdicter. Look forward for more armada content!
Got another fleet idea for you. How about a Skreed build with three Victory’s all with heavy ions and disposable capacitors? Fill the rest out to your liking. It could absolutely punish anything during the first round of combat.
Keep it up! Can't wait till we get some more info on the new ships! You ever think about redoing some of your old guides for ships since there are so many new upgrades since original recording?
Love the build, but I'd be concerned with only 2 squadrons. A heavier squadron fleet may chip away or even negate the engineering advantage. But thanks to this video, I'm now considering engineering captains! Thanks big C!
Yes seen this strategy about 1 month ago against my ships (with some 2 cards he used instead). In theory it is tank. But with luck dice rolls on my side that day at end of turn i won. His tank ship still survived but heavily damaged.
I've made fleets similar to this one, but 2x Assaults because those 2 defensive retros are so damn juicy. Think there might be room to throw in a Phoenix Home for "Shields to Maximum?"
I actually played a similar list to this at a local gaming club in what was my second ever game. I somehow managed to one shot their Mc80 with a Kuat at close range. :)
So I ran the numbers, a boarding troopers avenger kuat can still take this thing out before it can use engineering 11, if the imperial player plays correctly. Best case the Kuat has Price and goes last on a turn that the MC80 is forced to come into close range. For the sake of argument, say this is turn 3. End of turn 3, the Kuat fires its front arc, 3 Red, 2 blue, 3 black at the front arc of the MC80. Probably has an extra black from confire that was pre-set to go with the turn Price goes off. Rebel player uses brace and redirect, probably strips the shields from an adjacent hull zone and maybe a shield off the front. Kuat moves to double arc the MC80 next turn. Next turn, imperial player has first, and activates the Kuat. Boarding troopers spends the brace and one redirect. Side arc fires first, 1 red, 1 blue, two black. Rebel player probably redirects and maybe discards the brace. Front arc shot with avenger, confire, and exracks gives 3 red, 2 blue, and 6 black dice. Assuming the hull zone has 4 shields remaining, Avenger prevents orange tokens from being spent, twelve damage will kill the MC80 outright. I said "Good day, sir"
what if they made a phoenix home or flurry title for the quasar that changed its faction because in the lore the quasar is normally seen as a rebel ship more
He only had a one point bid I think and only one objective that offers big points so I am going to say not great. With VCXs he would better off doing sensor net for a blue or even hyperspace migration because he's tough and has everything in broadsides. At that point you choose red and oh well, he has some rerolls.
Man, good promos. Wedge is my favorite character of all time, the MC80 is my favorite Armada ship and how do you have an MC80 without leading shots? I'd be ok with all of those.
Do you think 399 is a strong enough bid? Otherwise you’ll be relying the mediocre firepower of two slow moving ships and a Nebulon. I wonder if you could make do with only one vcx...I guess it would leave you even more vulnerable to squads....but maybe not if you took ews for the second defensive refit?
EWS is much tankier than RBD. Denying a dice, and sometimes an entire attack, will save you far more than just 3 damage cards in the long run. This fleet will easly fall to Sloane, Raddus and rebel bombers.
It is kinda interesting, but I don't like much to be that defensive. My MC-80 would have Enhanced Armament and Leading Shots, besides all those defensive stuff. My Redemption could have Projection Experts and would keep it away from battle. Then lots of generic X-Wings with Jan Ors and Hera. Plus any other ship that could fit in with the spared points.
I've always been afraid to run fewer than 4 ships. Do you have any tips or recommendations for making low activation lists more effective? Especially against lists with more activations than yours?
When you know you are outdeployed, deploy in strength and let your opponent worry about it. Your going to get hit, so make sure you can take some punches until you start evening out the activations. In a low activation fleet everything has to put in -work-. A flotilla with resupply upgrades can still throw tokens around and push squads at the same time. Whether by squads or turbolasers your firepower must be decisive. Attrition favours numbers so burst -hard- when you deal damage. Don't be shy to use your pass tokens. Once the shooting starts they lose their value almost immediately. You shouldn't have any left by the end of round 2.
Love these kinda videos. My favorite is the MC75 with Aspiration and an MC80 with redundant shields and projection experts
I love your videos on star wars armada
You are my number one source of star wars armada information
Keep making awesome videos
This is a great build. I love this build using the strategic, if they cannot kill you cheese it with objectives.
I have run a Mc75 as the tank and Mc80 as the support. I used Sato and rouge squadrons to act as long range spotters for the Sato dice.
God I wish this was more popular in Australia. Living vicariously though you :P
Finally, redemption is featured in a build!
An interesting fleet, but is Leia really the best choice for it? Sure she can make your engineering commands better, but for a minor drop in tankiness one could take Garm instead. You tricked me, I thought for a second there was some sort of fuel tanker freighter or something =P
We have House rules.. for scenarios like VIP etc.. Imperials Intercept a Fuel Tanker.. blockade runs... we use Mobquet Medium Transport from Mels Miniatures. www.shapeways.com/shops/mel_miniatures?section=Armada+Ships&s=0

Ran a MC80 against a SSD and blew it up. Don't go too tanky as I've never got a lot of damage out on these builds and scores stay too close.
Gotta love those tanky rebel builds...
I'm new to armada but I'll have to agree that the list builder you use is the best I've found
When RITR comes out, Doomed Station will be a better blue objective in this build. Keep the station moving along with the fleet towards the gravity rift and it can actually heal hull points as an additional benefit. 😁
Nice tank build, will call it the "Rebel Wall"... lets try it this week end 👊

I’ve had a lot of fun with a mc80 liberty with spinal armament and caiken and shollan. Plus a gr75 for support and heals
Cool build I do enjoy how you break things down 🤔
Tried a modified version of this fleet with the loaded mc80 and two mc30 torpedo with the mc title and it worked well, just kept hitting ISDs at distance, made them come to me, then had APT torpedo frigates spring into action. I'm about to have a couple of matches this weekend against an SSD with my friends so this is very handy to get me thinking on my build to counter it
I recently used Redemption with Raymus and Projection Experts to compensate for a Liberty not having def retrofit. Having a forward firing ship along with the neb was nice. I'm a fan of mc80 H1 though, might need to try this combo.
I have been laying against something similar. Best way to take it out is swarm of bombers.
Awesome vid! I have always wanted really tanky builds but i never got around to making a properly tanky ship, i'll be sure to use this!
This builder is pretty nice. It’s easier to see everything.
this sounds like a fleet i will definitely have to try at some point. it also sounds like it fits the moncalamari ships in lore.
"THEY'RE GOING AFTER THE ENGINEERING FRIGATE!!!!!!!!!" just doesn't have the same ring to it
Thanks for another good fleet builder, looks like a fun build to do with friends
I’m trying this build in my next battle! Thanks for sharing!
I've just started to watch your videos, and i want to thank you for clarifying bascially everything my friends and I have had some questions on regarding rules and how the game is played!
Very interesting strategy! I may have to try a variation on this the next time I play Armada...
you are the person who introduced me to Armada
Cool build, can't wait for RitR and the new ships! 🤘
I just have to say that I really love the Ryan Kingston's fleet builder. I've made so many fleets on there. I love it so much :D
Nice build. Hopefully you will run it and have a batrep video.
Hey man, love your videos. They got me into armada after I came across them and convinced me to get a core set and them purchased an interdicter. Look forward for more armada content!
A player in my area runs a similar list to this. Does pretty well against the SSDs.
Wow I never put that much thought into objectives before, my buddy and I usually just pick the one that would be most fun.
Cool seeing the fleet builder
For the Rebellion
Love this build
Got another fleet idea for you. How about a Skreed build with three Victory’s all with heavy ions and disposable capacitors? Fill the rest out to your liking. It could absolutely punish anything during the first round of combat.
Great Build, this gives me some ideas. Thanks!
I've been exploring tank ideas now that I have the three big MCs but I still like to put in some dice modifying upgrades. I never go full turtle.
Great video! Engineering teams is a go to for building fleets for me.
Really interesting build. Would be good to see it in action!
Yes seen this strategy about 1 month ago against my ships (with some 2 cards he used instead). In theory it is tank. But with luck dice rolls on my side that day at end of turn i won. His tank ship still survived but heavily damaged.
recently got the core set; PREPARE THE FLEETS!
Im going to try and fly that on TTS. It looks very solid
Thanks for doing this! There's so little information on Rebel Fleet builds out there as it seems everyone is playing Imperials.
Good thing I will be maining rebels so it won’t be hard to find opponents
I've made fleets similar to this one, but 2x Assaults because those 2 defensive retros are so damn juicy. Think there might be room to throw in a Phoenix Home for "Shields to Maximum?"
I love to play with tanky builds makes the game more fun for me
I'm always looking for a fun ways to bring MC80s to the table... and here it is.
Still looking to sit down and play this
Hi. Nice built. My home one is being shipped right now so i can try something like that.
This is great! Tanky rebels needs to be a thing.
I actually played a similar list to this at a local gaming club in what was my second ever game. I somehow managed to one shot their Mc80 with a Kuat at close range. :)
Nice build, I'd probably try something similar with an MC75, mainly because I don't have 2 MC80's!
So tempted to run this, love me a tanky boy
So I ran the numbers, a boarding troopers avenger kuat can still take this thing out before it can use engineering 11, if the imperial player plays correctly.
Best case the Kuat has Price and goes last on a turn that the MC80 is forced to come into close range. For the sake of argument, say this is turn 3.
I'm trying a two ship build but am building a bit more around Fighters for this attempt! Still, I think this build above would be tankirer then heck!
That is one fat space pickle. I ordered one recently and cant wait to field it.
this weekend? i thought it'd take longer.
time to learn about rebel tanks.
what if they made a phoenix home or flurry title for the quasar that changed its faction because in the lore the quasar is normally seen as a rebel ship more
Maybe we could call this build Chef Boyardee, because it's Mmm... Beefy...
I don't think I have ever used an Assault variant in an actual game! Maybe I need to look at it!
Wonderful stack of moncals
Hello, how about showing once in a while an example of deployment, so you can show us your strategy to make your plan work as planned.
Nice build!
Appreciate the videos they are very helpful.
Wonder if the Starhawk will be able to (upgraded right) take on a SSD head on) with ships helping it engineer it could be a demon
Thanks for the nice ideas. Just starting with the game, though. Is there an overview in which expansions which upgrade cards come?
I'd never seen that MC80 promo actually, sign me up lol
Very interesting build. You don’t have a lot of deployment drops or activations. Wonder how it would fare in a tournament.
He only had a one point bid I think and only one objective that offers big points so I am going to say not great. With VCXs he would better off doing sensor net for a blue or even hyperspace migration because he's tough and has everything in broadsides. At that point you choose red and oh well, he has some rerolls.
Ah... The naval question designers have been working on for centuries. More armor or more weapons? I have always leaned toward a balance myself.
I like this list soo much
I am so pumped for the nee vanguard title! I am a huge nebulon-b fan!
Interesting. How well could the Imperials emulate this idea with Interdictors?
Would love to get the leading shots promo
Interesting build, I think squadron heavy fleets could be an issue with it.
They're going to need to be some decent hull squads, one of the areas where this fleet actually has okay offence is flak.
Rebellion in the rim will be out by the end of September right?
If you could only have one what would you prefer between X-wing, Armada or legion?
Man, good promos. Wedge is my favorite character of all time, the MC80 is my favorite Armada ship and how do you have an MC80 without leading shots? I'd be ok with all of those.
Nice! So what is the best build to take down an SSD? Say you’re doing 800 pts and they use the 400+ point Executor?
will the list have enough fire power to take down (a) target? super strong defense.
Make a rebel overpowered fleet like being able to deal out alot of damage but take less damage from the empire ships
Dang a two MC80 build. I only have one boss.

Funky build ✌😇
Will try it
Me too Eli!
Can you do some task force builds for Rebellion in the Rim?
I'd use that fleet builder if I could add what's in my collection into it :(
I wanna see this played
That’s quite a tank build. But is it as tanky as a SSD tank build?
Love the videos!
Nice!
Interesting!
It is kinda interesting, but I don't like much to be that defensive. My MC-80 would have Enhanced Armament and Leading Shots, besides all those defensive stuff. Tank all the pew pews
2 MC-80s would nice...
awesome
Which ship/squadron do you have the most trouble fitting into a list?
Boba Fett
