Do you notice better cooling? Looking at switching mine just as a preventative to the leaking but was wondering heat soak/performance wise if it runs better.
Did you not need a battery tender for the bleed procedure? It takes like 5/6 mins to start and then another 10/11 mins to fully cycle according to Kies motorsport guide
Hey there, I just want to ask regarding the CSF as I have read the OEM even performed better horsepower and torque number during the testing at Kies Motorsport. And I just read that Mishimoto makes better intercoolers for the S55 than CSF. Can you please explain what you think about those threads. Thanks
The best intercooler for the F80 is the stock one. There’s absolutely no reason to “upgrade” it if it’s not leaking since most aftermarket intercoolers rob you of power with the exception of maybe 2 (none of which are CSF).
Well my data would be that I’ve had an OE one fail and leak. This seems to be constructed better and out of more aluminum. There’s no plastic bits to fail. It’s more about consistency and keeping the intake carve cooler when on track at consistent wide open throttle. Here a good write up f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1760854&page=2

Niiiice! That should definitely help out with the heatsoak!
Definitely should. I’ll be testing it soon.
Car looking good Blake 👍 sometimes i wish I kept my m4 agree about policja go undercover with z mods
Thanks

It’s a good idea to have a battery tender, but not necessary. I let it run for about 20 minutes to do it cycle
How many times did u do the bleeding procedure ? Once?
Yeah once

Have you found a way to get around the fitment issue with oil filter housing cap
I don’t remember having an issue with the oil filter housing cap
What data do you actually have as proof that the Chinese made CSF unit is an improvement over the oem charge cooler?
Ask Carbahn Motors because they use this unit

The fact it won’t crack and leak like the oem one and the hundreds upon hundreds of F8x that have already attest to it since like 2016
Why didn’t you just Jack it up and unclip the hose to flush the coolant?…
Cuz this was easier.
