Yeah, it kind of sucks trying to find these tools. I made mine by taking a 5 mm driver and throwing it in my lathe to bring it down to spec. You could get a larger one, chuck it up in a drill and slowly file it to size. The Yamaha part number for the valve guide remover is 90890-04111.
Nice video! I have a yz250f i bought set of titanium valves i am wondering if i can lap them or not, because they have a coating. I am thinking if i am gentle i wont damage the coat. Or is it better to leave it like it is. What do you think?
Great video!
I was able to get my 09 kx250f done a few weeks back after watching your old kawi videos.

Would you go for stainless?
I have no experience with anything other than OE

Depends on the year. Early model yz250f with titanium valves are suggested to be lapped in the service manual.
Mine is 2005 but thanks!
Yes, you can lap them.
dont lap them once that coating is gone its gone... if u must lap them, use diamond grit paste
Yamaha’s procedure in the service manual is to lap the valves
do the guides get punched out from the top or the bottom of the head?
Depends on the machine, some of them have stops. If they don’t have stops, you can push them either way.
